❝she's thinks maki's glasses are cool❞
nanami unwillingly became itadori's mentor, which meant that marri was stuck with the second-years of jujutsu high for the day.
"but I wanna go with nanamin!!", marri whined, to which satoru had to put down his foot and say no.
"you'll love the second-years!! especially panda", satoru smiled, to which the male was carrying the girl up the stairs to jujutsu high, as there were three students standing there, waiting.
marri pouted as she huffed, crossing her arms as she saw a green-haired girl, a platinum-haired boy, and a literal panda, that was life-sized.
marri's eyes widened as she gasped, to which satoru had grinned as he put marri down, letting her run over to the fluffy animal as she nuzzled her face in panda's stomach, making him pick the child up.
"told you that you'd like them", satoru hummed, to which marri didn't even hear her father as she made grabby hands at panda.
"hi, I'm panda", the bear introduced.
"I LOVE YOU!", marri yelled, giggling as panda tilted his head from side to side, hugging the girl as marri nearly cried from how happy she was.
she knew stuffed animals could walk and talk. she was beyond happy, as she had found her new favorite.
"salmon".
marri then perked up as her brows furrowed in confusion, not even noticing that satoru had left.
"huh?"
"I'm zenin maki and he's inumaki toge. he can only speak with onigiri ingredients because of his cursed speech", the green-haired girl informed.
"zenin?"
"please just call me maki", the girl said, as she wasn't fond of the clan she came from.
"maki-chan, do you have a cousin by any chance?", marri asked, to which the girl's face had immediately turned into a frown.

"unfortunately yes".
"ahh..."
marri then remembered her dad spilling to her about the zenin tea, to which there were a lot of big words that she had engrained in her mind, as her father had a LOT to say.
'something about...was it a misogynist?? or an utter asshole?'
"anyways, I'm quite surprised. are you actually gojō-sensei's kid?", panda asked, breaking the awkward silence as the four started heading towards an ice cream shop, with panda still carrying the girl.
the three second-years weren't exactly babysitters, so when they were tasked to take care of gojō satoru's kid, they weren't sure what to expect.
"yeah. I look like my papa don't I?", marri asked.
"you do, you do! so...can you see curses or—"
"OF COURSE I CAN!! I LOVE TALKING TO S'KUNA! he's my favorite so far", marri exclaimed, her eyes lighting up as panda could feel the girl about to bounce off the walls.
it was like he had accidentally opened pandora's box.
"o-oh? is that so?"
"yeah...but it seems like s'kuna doesn't really like me", marri pouted, thinking back as she realized that all curses didn't really like her.
'and I wonder why', all three thought in sync.
"but we like you", panda smiled, to which inumaki had nodded.
"salmon".
"that's good, because I really like you guys too. I really like maki-chan's glasses. they make her look cool", marri whispered to panda, to which the bear had chuckled as maki felt some heat rise up to her neck.
it felt weird being complimented by a child.
"so what's your favorite flavor?", panda asked as they have arrived at the ice cream shop, getting some weird looks as people wondered whether panda was a costume or not.
"mm...I like all flavors, but I'm feeling strawberry today", marri said. "how about you? you kind of look like cookies and cream", marri laughed, to which panda had smiled as he patted the little girl's head.

"toge, toge, which one do you want?", marri asked, wondering what inumaki's lower half of his face looked like under his jujutsu uniform.
"bonito flakes".
"so vanilla?"
inumaki nodded, to which she had then turned to maki.
"maki-chan, what flavor are you getting?"
"oh, I won't be getting anything", the girl answered.
"but ice cream's good. you can become cooler if you eat ice cream!", marri exclaimed, raising both her arms as panda had set her down, letting her run over to maki.
"pleaseeeeeee!! I think you'll REALLY like the green tea flavor", marri suggested, only because maki's hair was green.
maki awkwardly grit her teeth and bit the insides of her cheeks as she watched marri's eyes sparkle meanwhile gripping onto the hem of her skirt.
"okay okay, fine. I'll have the green tea flavored ice cream please", maki ordered, to which marri had cheered as maki had paid for all her teammates too.
as the four got their ice cream, they sat outside the ice cream shop on a bench, watching people walk past as marri swung her legs, sitting in between maki and inumaki.
"toge, are you going to eat your ice cream? it's going to melt", marri warned, seeing as the boy was hesitant to unzip his upper collar.
inumaki was a bit worried that marri would find his markings weird, as children were brutally honest.
"shake shake".
the boy then unzipped the upper half of his uniform as there was not only a marking beside his mouth, but one on his tongue.
"toge do you like it?", marri asked, to which the boy was a bit surprised that the girl didn't ask about his weird linings.
"salmon", he answered.
"that's good, that's good. I like mine too, just in case you were wondering", marri smiled, to which maki had actually quite enjoyed her green tea flavor, meanwhile panda had finished his ice cream all in one bite.

a video was sent to the three second-years from satoru once the little girl had left them, to which maki had played the video, making them all pause.
"SALMON!! BONITO FLAKES!!", marri yelled, prancing around in a panda onesie as she wore fake glasses.
the three could hear satoru's laughter as marri neared the camera, to which inumaki had noticed the badly drawn on markings, similar to his very own.
"thank you for taking care of me today!! shake shake!!"
the three second-years had then shut off their phones, facepalming as they inwardly smiled.
'how cute'.

But is simply knowing all there is to life? Can he strive for more? Should he? (Writer's Note:) I'm a pretty new writer, so expect delays, errors, inconsistent logic, plot holes the size of a small 4-wheeled vehicle, and a distinct lack of snark. At least from the MC. Also, yes, the cover is an image I made in paint. I have...NO artistic skills. It is a placeholder. Also, I came up with this idea in the shower after a nine-hour RRL binge. SO BEAR WITH ME.

Luster
Growing up with her recently deceased mother’s addiction and her own struggles with gender identity, June Fujiwara was not a nice person. Gaining powers from nearly being murdered didn’t change that, and neither did becoming a mercenary to fund her transition. It took horrific manipulation, the resulting trauma, and the family that helped her through it all. Luster is a derivative work based on Worm by Wildbow (John C. McCrae) that begins prior to Worm and although it doesn't show straight away, the story is very AU.
