❝she hates washing her hair❞
"marri!! time to shower!!", satoru called out in their two story penthouse — that satoru had bought a year after marri had came into his life.
not only was the interior design modern and monotonous, you could see the city skyline from the living room, where half of the walls consisted of large glass windowpanes.
"NO!!"
satoru sighed as he trudged up the marble-white stairs, making his way up to marri's room, which was filled with anything a little girl could ever desire.
in fact, marri's bed was round and had a tool canopy hanging above it, cascading downwards as it gave off the illusion that marri was indeed a little princess.
"marri, you need to shower", satoru said, placing his hand on his hip as he saw the little girl hide under her desk.
"NO! I DON'T WANT TO!!"
"do you still want to watch doraemon?"
marri pouted.
"...yes..."
"then come out from under your desk. I'll even dry your hair for you~", satoru cooed.
"but you always dry my hair!"
"exactly! now come on", satoru urged, extending out his hand as marri sighed, giving up.
as even if marri were to escape to the ends of the earth, she was sure that her father would find her, because of her stench.
satoru rolled up his sleeves — as he had already showered once he got home — meanwhile marri crossed her arms, sitting in the shower and waiting for the cold water to smack her.
however, satoru's hand hovered over marri's head, to which the water didn't touch the male's hand as he could manipulate the atoms in the air.
it wasn't until a few moments later that satoru had told marri to scrub herself down with a loofah before commanding the girl to close her eyes.

turning the shower head off — because they don't waste water there — satoru squirted a good amount of shampoo as he was careful not to get any on marri's face.
"papa, did you know that an ostrich's eye is bigger than it's brain?", marri randomly mentioned.
"oh? and where did you hear that from?", satoru laughed, as the girl always had the most random facts up her sleeve.
"the book nanamin got me. it's about animals, and apparently a shark is the only known fish that can blink with both eyes", the girl continued.
"is that so?"
"mhm!! and you know what's really sad? a shrimp's heart is actually in its brain, so does that mean we are eating its heart when we eat shrimp??"
satoru played along by depressingly sighing.
"it is very sad. do you want to stop eating shrimp then?", the white-haired male asked, shielding marri's face as he warned the girl that he was rinsing.
"no", marri honestly answered, making satoru lowly chuckle.
"because only the strongest survives", marri quoted, to which satoru had started scrubbing the girl's head again, except with conditioner this time.
"that's right! how's my little princess four and already learning about the survival of the fittest?! you're mentally growing up too fast for me to catch up!!", satoru praised, making marri giggle.
"because of nanamin's books!! which by the way, can we facetime him tonight? I miss him a lot and I want to tell him about what I read too", marri said.
"if he picks up", satoru replied, as nanami kento — a younger colleague of satoru — preferred not to converse with the white-haired male.
"okay!! are you almost done papa? you're been washing my hair for hours!", the girl exaggerated.
"it's been only five minutes", satoru replied. "do you want lice? I'll have to cut your hair if you get it", the male threatened.

"NOOO!! I WANT TO GROW IT OUT!! I want to look like auntie shōko!! minus the eye bags though..."
ieiri shōko — another one of satoru's colleagues and a doctor at tokyo jujutsu high — was a gloomy woman who was one of the first to suggest how to take care of marri when she had first arrived.
though with the woman always slacking, satoru decided that he might as well take care of marri full-time rather than leave his precious daughter in her care.
"alright alright, I'm done", satoru said, wrapping a towel around the little girl as marri immediately changed into her new curse pajamas, with sukuna printed on it.
"PAPA HURRY UP!! I NEED TO CALL NANAMIN THEN WATCH DORAEMON!!", marri shouted, making satoru hastily blow dry the girl's hair as she started laughing at how silly she looked with her hair everywhere.
"OKAY BY—"
"WAIT!"
satoru pulled the girl back into the bathroom as he brushed through marri's hair, making sure not to hurt the girl's head as he aggressively combed through the tangles.
"OKAY THANK YOU, BYE!"
marri hastily ran off as she snatched satoru's phone — with his wallpaper being marri and him of course — and facetimed nanami.
nanami immediately picked up, knowing that it was marri, as every time marri wanted to talk, it'd be over facetime.
"HI UNCLE NANAMIN!! do you like my new pjs?! it has s'kuna on it!! he can talk", marri exclaimed, propping the phone up against a jar of candy that was on the coffee table as nanami just nodded.
"I see...and how have you been liking the books I sent you?"
"I love them!! I was just telling papa about how a shrimp's heart is actually in its brain, but anyways, when are you coming back? I miss you", marri pouted.
nanami felt his heart and brain pause for a moment. even though he kept up his stoic expression, before he had answered.
"in a few days".
"promise?"
"promise", he replied.
