I sat on a swing. The sun is fresh in the sky. The morning air is cool and light. It welcomes a tired body. A sweet addiction. Innocence. Peace.
I bowed my head, staring at my feet. My chest is barren, sad and empty... but it is hard to see it in my face. Am i... heartless?

Then my phone vibrates, only one person, well, one creature will call me.
I answered it and put over my ear.
"You still breathing?" I almost smirked at that. His voice is the only familiarity I could ever welcome. "Did it happen? It did, or am I imagining things? But it did, right? Did he hurt you? Should I kill him? Should I let you do that? Wait, have I asked, are you still breathing?" He finally stopped. I miss him.
"Yeah. But I'm practically being killed twice." Or thrice.
"Twice? Huh? Are you in rogue business again? Young lady, I swear, I would chain you again until you grow out of fangs."
"Fangs?... Don't be vampirish."
"But you said killed twice." The supposed concern does not match his cold voice. It always is like that. But I know him.
"Oh.. that? He made me reject him... again, saying that I should mean it this time."
"Did you?" Do I?
"Regardless, he doesn't want me for the human that I am."
"You are not!"
"Yeah.. yeah... I'm a monster. A cookie monster." He used to call me that when I was young and I found the love of cookies... well... I used to have a sweet tooth.

I yawned.
"Well, cookie monster did not sleep, e?"
"No sherlock. I will just get nightmares. You know how I am after them" The last part in whispers.
I heard him sigh.
"Just please take care of yourself, 'kay?"
"Hmmm."
"Winter, please babe, take care."
"Kay, take care, love." I answered. I chose to stay here on my own, but still... I'm used to him. The only person I can call home.
"Oh, happy birthday." He whispered before ending the call. Darn it. I did not have the chance to talk back. I miss him.
I just stared at my phone. My eyes were droopy. Then, I heard footsteps. I turned around only to find Chase walking away. Did he heard it? How much did he hear? But my eyes were drooping. My body slowly feeling the tiredness. He was here just enough to cause this sleepiness. And I cannot withdraw. So I closed my eyes and things went black.
