《A Sky Full Of Stars (#5)》Chapter 6 | Meeting

I always wanted to get married.

But not to her.

Definitely not her. Never in a million years. But since when destiny started to grant us the things we desire?

The elevator opened on my floor...or should I say our floor.

I stepped out of the elevator with Leona following behind me and lead her towards my office.

I walked in and turned to her. "This is my office. And adjacent to it, is yours." Her eyes roamed my office and she nodded in understanding.

"Milly, my assistant will explain and provide you with everything you need." I told.

She rolled her eyes. "I know what I need to do, I don't need anyone explaining me everything like a child."

"You are a child." I stated.

She glared at me. "I'm not a child and you better stop calling me a kid."

I walked closer to her. "You are six years younger to me, so, for me, you are a kid. Don't argue on that."

Her eyes narrowed. "Then technically you don't get married to a kid."

"You are a above eighteen so, that makes you an adult and I can marry you."

She smirked. "There, you admitted it yourself that I am an adult not a kid."

What the hell.

I opened my mouth to argue but she just turned around to leave. "Bye, idiot."

"Don't call me that." I snapped making her stop and turn around.

She raised a brow amusingly. "Why? Don't you like that name, idiot?"

My jaw clenched. "Leona, don't. That's what mom calls dad and I don't want you calling me that."

She grinned mischeiviously. "Whatever you say, idiot. I'll see you later."

There was a knock on the door all of a sudden which prevented me from cursing her.

The door slowly opened and Westly poked his head inside with a grin on his face. "Hello, everyone!"

I rolled my eyes as he came in with a chocolate cupcake in his hand.

"Hey, Leona!" He greeted her, extending his other hand for a hand shake.

She shook his hand with a small smile on her face. "I've seen you somewhere before."

"Yeah, at your wedding yesterday." Westly reminded her in a duh tone.

"No. I mean yes, I did see you at the wedding but I have seen you somewhere else too...on the television maybe...?"

Westly smiled softly at her. "Oh, yes. Sorry, I didn't introduce myself. Westly Coleman, the captain of the Australian Cricket Team."

"And the second most respected person in Australia." I added, proudly though I would never admit it to him.

Leona's eyes lit up. "Oh! That's why you looked familiar. I did see you during one of the cricket match between England."

"You watch cricket?" I was surprised.

She rolled her eyes. "Yes, idiot. I do watch cricket because it's not a complex thing us American won't understand."

I remembered what I told her when we first met that 'you Americans won't understand it.'

Seems like she took it seriously.

I scoffed. "You watch cricket and yet you couldn't recognise him."

"I understand cricket and I do sometimes watch it but I don't have the time to watch each and every match and remember each player", she said in a saccharin tone.

Westly looked uncomfortable standing there in between our banter, eating his cupcake. So, he cleared his throat.

Leona gave him a sheepish smile before saying, "I'm leaving but I will be taking your autograph later."

"Sure, Leona." He smiled and she left making me sigh and I sat down on my chair and as usual Westly took a seat infront of my desk. He finished eating his cupcake and licked his fingers.

"So...no honeymoon?" He asked amusingly.

"Shut up. There's no way I am going on a honeymoon with her."

"Hmm...she did wear the watch you gifted her."

"Yup. She did. I saw that..." I opened my laptop ignoring the mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

"You don't look happy..." He remarked.

I pressed my lips into a thin line. "And you want to know why?"

He shrugged, leaning back in his chair. "I mean...you always wanted to have a wife, don't you? You wanted to have a wife, to love her, to care for her, to protect her, to gift her things, to provide for her, to--"

I focused my eyes on anything but him and a tint of pink coated my cheeks. "That's enough, Westly."

"Nope. Not done yet. You also wanted to gift your wife a wedding gift on the very first night...which you actually did when you gave her that watch."

I glared at him. "That was her birthday present. Which I forgot to give to her earlier."

"Hmm...a birthday which was two weeks ago. Not quite late to give a birthday present." He wondered to himself.

I hate that he knows everything about me. Everything. And I hate myself for telling him everything.

I chose not to reply to him and focused on my work. And he started to hum a song to himself.

A few minutes later, I shut down my laptop and gathered a few things that I would need and got up. "I have a meeting to attend to now along with Leona so, you may leave."

He got up from his seat too. "In case you forgot, I'm leaving tomorrow for my Sri Lanka tour. I just came to say goodbye."

I frowned. "You are leaving..." It was a complain.

"Yes. I'm leaving. And I will be back after..." He started to ponder as he tapped his chin with his index finger. "Two months."

"Two months." I repeated gloomily.

He hummed and took a step closer to me, stretching out his arms for a hug. Smiling softly, I hugged him tightly, patting him on his back.

"I won't miss you, you know that, right?" I asked making him chuckle.

"Of course. I won't miss you either, don't worry." And he pulled back. "Goodbye, Rafe."

"Goodbye, brother." I replied and giving me one last smile, he turned around and left.

I walked out of my office and knocked on Leona's to remind her that we have a meeting to attend to. I knocked twice but got no reply, so, I went in anyway.

And I groaned loudly. "You gotta be kidding me!" There she was, on her chair with her head resting on the desk, sleeping peacefully.

"Leona!" I yelled which startled her and she woke up, sitting up straight, looking at me in confusion.

She rubbed her eyes. "What happened? Who died now?"

"No one died but you will if you don't get up right now and attend the meeting."

She rolled her eyes and placed her head down on the desk again.

Is she fucking serious?

"You are the joint CEO now! You can't just keep sleeping all day." I scolded.

She still didn't listen to me and there was a knock on the door. "Come in", I said.

The door opened and Milly came in. "Mr Andrews you need to attend a meeting in ten minutes with the French Investors."

"I know that, Milly." I cut her off. "Tell that to this sleeping panda." I pointed at Leona who was sleeping without a care in the world.

Milly looked unsure but tuned to Leona anyway. "Mrs Andrews? Mrs--"

"Don't call me that!" Leona snapped all of a sudden, sitting up straight and glaring at Milly. "My name's Leona, not Mrs Andrews."

Milly's mouth fell open as she glanced in between us, baffled. And I gestured her to leave.

"Leona...get up now."

She rolled her eyes and leaned back in her chair. "I won't until and unless you delete that video from your phone."

I gave her a blank look. "I know you are a kid but you don't need to act like one."

"I'm not a kid." She gritted her teeth. "And delete that video from your phone right now."

"Very well. You won't obey me then I guess I have to call uncle now. And tell him that 'I am sorry to inform you, Mr Wilbrose but your daughter is not capable of handling the company.' How does that sound?"

"You will not do that."

"Oh, my dear wife, I can and I will." I drawled and pulled out my phone to dial uncle's number.

She instantly got up and marched towards me and tried to snatch my phone but I held my hand up and since she was a bit shorter than me, she couldn't reach the phone.

Realising I was just wasting time, I put back the phone in my pocket and bending down, grabbed Leona's legs and threw her over my shoulder making her scream. "What the fuck, idiot?! Put me down!" She punched my back.

"We don't have time for your childish acts. We have a meeting to attend to."

Milly looked at us in shock as I walked past her desk with Leona over my shoulder and walked towards the room where meeting was to be held.

Right outside the room, I put her down and before she could protest, I shoved her inside the room where everyone was already waiting for us.

She shot me a glare before quickly fixing her hair and taking a seat at the table.

"Goodmorning, gentlemen." I greeted everyone and took a seat beside Leona whose face was flushed.

She kicked my leg from under the table and leaning closer, whispered in my ear. "I fucking hate you."

I gave her a sweet smile. "I hate you too, Mrs Andrews."
