⭐ Rafe's POV⭐
There are many who want me dead.
But as for me, I never reciprocated their feelings. Except for that one person.
Innocent looks yet not so innocent personality.
Big, dark brown, beautiful eyes which only knows how to shoot daggers. At me.
Plump, luscious lips with feistiness dripping from them.
Small, straight nose which is always in my business.
And the dark brown, wavy hair which keeps falling over her forehead, irritating her just like she irritates me.
I looked down to her picture in my phone's gallery. Standing with her arms around my mother's shoulder. A wide grin on her face. My grip on my phone tightened.
Leona Wilbrose. I fucking hate you!
"Good morning, Mr Andrews." My assistant, greeted me as she saw me walking past her desk.
I nodded curtly. "Morning." Because there was nothing good about this morning.
"Well...", she continued to speak. "You have a meeting in half an hour with the--"
I cut her off. "Not now, Milly. I'm not in a mood to attend any meeting. Cancle it please."
She was a few years older than me and has been working for me for the past three years.
She frowned slightly and shrugged. "Okay...then maybe your friend might lift up your mood."
"Friend?"
She nodded. "Yeah. He came here a few minutes ago before you and barged into your office as if he owns it."
I rolled my eyes. "According to him...he does own it."
She chuckled softly and I made my way towards my office, pushing open my office door, I walked in, scowling on seeing my so called friend sitting on my chair with his legs on my desk eating a block of chocolate.
He paused eating his chocolate and looked up at me with a grin on his face.
"Westly." I hissed. "Get off my chair!"
He ran his fingers through his short, blonde hair and frowned slightly. "Oh, come on, bro. I came to meet you."
"I have warned you before too, don't sit in my chair. It's only for me." I reminded him in a sharp tone.
He rolled his dark, blue coloured eyes. "You are saying as if it's a living thing." And he pushed back the chair and got up.
I walked towards my chair and removing my coat, draped it over the back of the chair and slumped down on it while he leaned against the desk, with a small pout on his lips, looking down at me.

I leaned back and rubbed my temples. "Why don't you just leave?", I asked when I realised that he wasn't in a mood to leave anytime soon.
"Doesn't any of those stupid lessons, which your dad taught you, says to respect your best friend?"
I sighed loudly realising I was being rude for no reason. "I'm sorry", I muttered.
He again rolled his eyes and went and sat down on the chair infront of my desk.
"I thought you would be happy since your best friend's coming...", he said noticing the scowl on my face.
"Best friend?", I asked, baffled. But when he gave me a toothy grin, I realised who he meant. I threw a pen at him. "She's not my best friend!"
"Oh, come on! She is." The stupid grin not leaving his face.
"If you don't want me to throw you out the window then you better shut up." I warned making him laugh.
When he sobered up, he questioned in a serious tone thankfully. "Okay. So, what's the problem?"
"You know what the problem is. I just can't be in a same room with her. And that annual family dinner is after two days."
"I can't believe you are holding a grudge against her since the past thirteen years. And she was just a kid then...grow up man!", he said.
He was right. But I wasn't going to let go of it easily.
I decided to not reply to him and opened my laptop instead to start working.
He didn't say anything either and continued eating his chocolate and he looked to be in a deep thought.
Silence fell around us.
For not long as he spoke up, "I know what exactly your problem is with her." He looked excited with whatever discovery he had made about my problem with Leona.
My eyes were focused on my laptop screen and I asked. "And what is it?"
"You like her."
You like her.
My mind wandered off to the moment I first saw her. Dressed up in a pale pink dress. Her eyes curious as they scanned the surroundings and everyone present there. Addison. Harris. Me.
No. No. No.
My eyes snapped up to him. My lips pressed into a thin line and my jaw clenched. "You are wrong."
"I am right." He argued. "And I have a few points to prove it." He got up before I could say anything and shoved the last piece of his chocolate in his mouth.

I watched him walk over to the whiteboard hanging on the wall to my left excitedly.
I groaned. "Westly, don't. I don't want you writing down some stupid points on my whiteboard."
Of course he didn't listen to me.
"Let me just do it. I love scribbling on your whiteboard." And he turned around and walked closer to me and before I knew it, he grabbed my black coat and wore it over his white t shirt.
"Hey!", I shouted. "That's my coat."
He ignored me and said to himself, "Now I feel like a businessman." And he buttoned up the coat and walking back to the whiteboard, cleared his throat and grabbed a marker.
"So, people. We have gathered here today for this important meeting, where I, Westly Coleman will prove as to why, Mr Andrews..." He pointed at me as if he was talking to a room full of people and I glared at him. "Like Leona Wilbrose. Since the moment he met her."
"I don't like her! And get your ass back here, Westly!" I yelled only to be ignored again.
He turned towards the whiteboard and started to write on it.
Point number one. Mr Andrews like her. That's a statement. But since he says otherwise...we will write some other points to prove it.
I picked up another pen and threw at him and it hit him on his back but he didn't react.
Point number two. Mr Andrews doesn't actually hate her cause he likes her.
"Westly!" I warned.
Point number three. He notices everything about her. Everything. From what she wears to her reaction to every thing.
By this time I had already got up, ready to beat his ass.
Point number four. He likes her.
I took long strides towards him furiously.
Point number five. Mr Rafe Andrews likes Leona Wilbrose.
I grabbed his shoulder and turned him around and I threw a punch at him which he easily dodged by ducking down in time.
"I'm an athlete and much faster than you, brother." He grinned confidently.
I clenched my fists trying hard not to strangle him.
I opened my mouth to yell at him but my phone started to ring and grumbling underneath my breath, I walked back to my desk where it was lying.
It was dad's call. As expected.
Sighing, I picked up the call. "Hey, dad."
"Hey, Rafe." He greeted back. "What are you doing, son?"
I glanced over to Westly who was writing my name on the whiteboard and beside it, he drew a huge heart and then next to it wrote Leona's name.
"Fuck off!" I yelled at him not realising that I was talking to dad at the same time. And my eyes widened.
And he gasped. "Rafe! Is that how you are supposed to talk to me?!"
Dad's voice was loud enough to be heard by Westly and he started laughing loudly while clutching his stomach.
"Dad, no. I...I... wasn't talking..."
"No. I get it. All these years I taught you manners only for you to talk to me rudely."
I face palmed myself and gave a deadly glare to Westly who was now on the floor for laughing so hard.
"Dad, listen to me", I said a bit loudly cutting him off and finally he listened.
"I didn't mean to say that to you. Westly is here and he is... annoying me. And it was meant for Westly, not for you."
"Fine." He muttered making me sigh in relief.
"Now...what did you call for?", I asked.
"Oh, yes. About that. Are you coming for the annual dinner tomorrow or do I have to drag your ass here myself?"
I groaned loudly. "Dad. I have an...um...an important meeting tomorrow morning..."
"So? I think you forgot... dinner takes place in the evening not in the morning...you can finish your meeting and then come..."
Shit.
"No! I mean...I just remembered...the meeting is in the evening only. Sorry, but I can't come tomorrow." I lied.
"You really need to learn how to lie properly, Rafe", Dad said.
Oh, come on.
His voice then turned serious. "Listen. You need to come to the dinner tomorrow evening. It's really, really important."
"Why is it so important all of a sudden?"
I don't have a good feeling about this.
"You'll see. Just be there." And he was about to hang up the call but then he remembered something. "And yes. It's Leona's birthday tomorrow too, don't forget to buy her a gift."
I scoffed in response as he hung up the call.
By now, Westly had taken a seat in front of my desk. "You going to the dinner tomorrow?"
I rolled my eyes. "I don't have any other choice."
