《Klaus's Pet》Chapter 31

Lorelei's POV:
I wake to a cold blood bag at the door.
I keep track of time by how many blood bags I have gone through.
Six.
Two a day.
I've been in here for four days.
I haven't seen anyone in that time. The silence is what kills me the most.
I drain the bag as I sit on the bed.
I pace around the small bedroom. I open the door quietly and try to put my hand through but I hit the barrier.
Fuck!
I feel like I'm suffocating, like the walls are closing in and in any moment I'll be crushed.
Let me out.
Let me out.
I scream and punch the mirror, shattering it into a million fragments and they clink as they scatter to the ground.
I watch as the marks from where I'd been sliced with the glass heal and I punch the wall.
Over and over.
Let. Me. Out.
Hayley's POV:
It's been four days since we'd seen Lorelei.
I hope this is over soon.
Hope is using magic with Freya to create a garden of flowers to decorate the compound.
I sigh and collapse into a chair.
Elijah walks in off the street.
"Hey." I say
He doesn't speak to me.
"Elijah."
He turns.
"Yes?"
"Is this how it's always going to be between us?"
"What would you like to happen between us?"
"I was hoping at the least we could be friends."
He sighs.
"Hayley I will always have a love for you but I cannot bear to be around the woman who broke my heart. It's too soon." He says
"I left because it was too much."
I step closer and he turns away.
I sigh and sit back down as he disappears.

He returns with a box of his belongings.
I had tried to convince him to stay but I lost. He didn't want to displace me or Hope and believed we needed the protection more than he did.
Klaus walks in carrying a cooler.
"What's in the cooler?" I ask
"Blood bags. Restocking. Hopefully she turns it back on soon so I don't have to do it for her." He says with a sigh
"You can do that?" I ask
"Compulsion love. I'd just rather have it as a last resort."
"Why?"
"If I force it, it could ruin her. Emotionally."
Lorelei's POV:
The door opens and I'm blinded by sunlight. Nik walks in and I rush at him.
"How dare you lock me in here!" I yell
He dodges me and speeds behind me.
I whip around.
"Easy love."
"You had no right!"
He lets out a sigh.
"You're frustrated?!? You turned our bedroom into solitary confinement!"
I storm over ready to attack him and he pins me to the bed, arms over my head and he sits on top of me. I struggle but it's no use.
"I'm trying to help you and keep you and everyone else safe." He says
I let out a growl of annoyance.
"I can help you love."
"I don't want your help. I'd rather desiccate than spend another moment with you!" I hiss
He leans in close and I spit in his face.
Another sigh and he takes his free hand and wipes it off.
I try again but this time he quickly puts a hand over my mouth.
I glare at him.
"Turn it back on." He says gently
No.
"Turn it back on and all of this will be over. At first there will be overwhelming grief but one day you'll feel better. The pain will lessen."

He gets off of me and grabs the picture of Emma and me. I don't move.
"Remember the little girl you had saved. She made something beautiful out of her life. She worked hard everyday to make the wolves learn the freedom and life that comes with being a werewolf. You taught her that. You taught her that she was more powerful than the ones who meant to destroy her and she led hundreds of wolves to freedom because what you taught her."
I see a tear fall from her eyes.
She wipes it away quickly.
It's working.
"Let it in love. Remember how much you love her. Without that her memory and her death mean nothing."
Her eyes close and I see the moment that it happens. Her eyes well up with tears and she sobs.
I take her in my arms and soothe her as she grieves.
When she falls asleep I scan her. She's got dried blood splattered along her arm. I look around the room and spot the broken mirror.
I sweep up the shards and toss them in the trash.
I climb into bed with her, kissing her on the forehead gently and she moves to lay on my chest.
My eyes close.

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
