《Klaus's Pet》Chapter 18

Lorelei POV:
I'm running through the woods in wolf form at a normal speed when I hear a gun shot and something speeds by me.
Then another gunshot sounds off and I feel something hit me in the leg.
I've been shot. Someone is hunting me.
I take off at high speeds towards New Orleans. Another shot rings out, hitting me in the shoulder. I stumble out get back on my feet and push on as fast as I can go.
I transform quickly and grab a shirt and shorts from my stash in the Cresent's property and take off to the compound as fast as I can. I collapse a few feet away from the entrance.
Freya's POV:
I'm heading to the store to grab some more maps, candles and herbs and stop dead in my tracks at the gate. Someone is lying on the ground, blood spilling onto the cement. I rush over.
Lorelei.
I scream out for Klaus and he's there in moments. He grabs her and rushed her inside. I put up a barrier spell just to be safe and follow behind him.
He lays her on a table in the foyer.
He's looking her over and lets out an angry growl.
"She's been shot." He says
"She'll heal on her own but for now we need to get the bullets out. Quickly before she heals."
I run to the kitchen and grab a bowl and run to get the med kit Keelin left and pull out forceps and run back to the table. Hayley runs in with Hope at her heels and she assesses the situation. She spins Hope around and tells her to go get a bucket of water and some washcloths.
Hooe returns with the items. Hayley thanks her daughter then asks her to go to Klaus's room and open the door.

Hayley speeds over and I grab the washcloth, put it in the bowl of water and wipe the blood on Lorelei's wounds. I reach into the wound in her shoulder and yank out one bullet. Lorelei awakens and starts to fight us off of her. Klaus speeds to the kitchen and grabs the dust and blows it in her face and she passes out. I find another wound in her leg. I wipe away some more blood.
Klaus and Hayley scan Lorelei and find one more bullet wound in her back that I had missed. I reach inside but there's nothing. I have them help me roll her over as gently and quickly as possible and look though the other side. Nothing. It went clean through.
I sigh with relief.
"She's gonna be alright." I say
"I'm going to move her to the bedroom and get her changed." Klaus says
He picks her up and carries her to their bedroom. I grab the washcloths and toss them in the trash. I clean off the bullets and set them down.I disinfect the table, bowl and forceps then sit down for a moment, examining the bullets.
"Someone is hunting werewolves." Hayley says
Elijah walks in off the street and looks around, alarmed.
"You're back." Hayley says then sees his expression "Oh, it's okay. Everyone is fine. But I need you to come with me. We need to clear out the Cresent back out of the bayou. Now." Hayley says rushing towards him
The two take off as Hope walks in looking scared.
"Auntie Freya?" She asks
"Hi sweetie. It's alright. Everyone is okay. Thank you so much for your help." I say to her
She gives me a sad smile.
"Hey you want to help me with a locator spell?" I ask hoping to cheer her up

She immediately lights up.
"Yeah!" She says and heads off to the study
I look at the bullet in between my fingers. There's an engraving on each one with the letters FE.
I grab a bullet and head to the study to join Hope.
We perform the spell and I call Elijah, giving him the location of the shooters. By tracking the bullet we managed to find the others.
There were four shooter in the bayou.
Hayley POV:
Elijah and I race to the bayou. It's quiet.
I run to the area where the Cresents' stay and find them all alive. They turn to me and I Usher them to follow me to safety. We can have them stay in the compound for now until this is over.
I bring them with me to the compound. I hope them set up beds and give them water while we all talk.
"We heard gunshots. We thought it was just deer hunting. We heard a woman scream but never found her." Eve says, her blue eyes full of worry and blonde hair twisted into a braid
"It was Lorelei." I say
"Oh my God is she okay?" Eve asks
"She was shot but she's healing in bed right now." I say
I spot Klaus pacing and go join him.
"This shouldn't have happened." He says angrily
"What are you talking about?" I ask
"I told her to take you with her! She left on her own. She could've been killed!" He says voice rising in anger
"Klaus she would've been fine either way. Hybrids are basically indestructible. Bullets wouldn't have done that much damage. Plus Elijah is hunting the shooters down right now. Lorelei will heal and be good as new." I say trying to calm him
"I'm going to go join him. Do not let Lorelei leave." He says and takes off
Klaus POV:
I find Elijah in the woods as he snaps one of the shooter's necks.
" I found two of them so far. Freya is helping me track them but they're moving quickly." Elijah says and grabs his phone off the ground
"To the right." I hear Freya say
I take off. I hear a faint heart beating quickly in the distance. I find the hunter and he shoots at me. I dodge it, grab the gun and throw it. Then I grab him by the throat.
"Why are you hunting New Orleans wolves?" I demand compelling him
"Listen guy it's just a job. The people I work for want to start making a campground around here but they can't do that with a bunch of monsters running around." The man says
"Well unfortunately for you I'm one of those monsters you're referring to." I say showing my fangs and my eyes glow
He panics and starts to struggle.
"Who do you work for?" I growl
"Florence Extermination." He says
I sink my fangs into his neck and rip out his throat.
Then I take off to find the last hunter.
