Chapter Five
Elena sits in a chair compelled. She holds a knife in her right hand, about 2 feet above her leg.
"Again." I say
She brings the knife down, the blade sinking deep into her flesh. She cries out in pain. I smirk.
"Why are you doing this?" She asks
"Elena I pride myself on not spilling innocent blood. And you are far from innocent. Do it again."
"Are you going to just torture me forever?" She asks
"No love. I'm here to kill you. I just want you to suffer first."
"Why? What did I ever do to you? I've never even met you."
"True but you attempted to murder someone I love and tonight you'll be paying for that. With your life."
A bell chimes, signaling that someone has opened the door.
"Get out. We're closed." I snap without looking to see who it is.
"Now what do you think you're doing Lorelei?" A voice asks from behind me
I whip around and mere inches away from me is Klaus.
"What you won't. Elena hold the knife up to your neck." I say
Klaus grabs me by the throat.
"Break the compulsion. Now." He commands in a low voice
"No." I reply defiantly
His grip tightens.
"Release her."
I glare at him and he tightens his grip again, staring at me in a cold calculating way as I struggle for air.
I hold my hands up in surrender and he drops me.
I rub my neck, shooting him a glare and turn to Elena.
"You are free to go." I tell her
She drops the knife and Klaus points to her.
"Heal her." He commands
I roll my eyes, grab an empty glass and bite my hand, pouring the blood into the cup and hand it to her.
Klaus turns to me.
"Leave. Now."
I open my mouth to interject but he steps closer.

"I won't tell you again."
I take off at vamp speed.
Klaus POV:
Lorelei disappears. Elena turns to me.
"What if she tried to come after me again?"
"I can handle Lorelei."
She waits a moment then continues.
"What's the deal with you two?"
I chuckle.
"She didn't tell you?" I ask
Elena shakes her head.
Imagine that.
"Well long story short, Lorelei was a pure soul. Triggered her curse protecting a child. The pack she belonged to didn't agree with her ways. Our paths crossed in Georgia and we've been together since." I explain as I think back to all those years ago.
"But what is she to you? A girlfriend?" Elena asks interrupting my thoughts
"She's my pet Elena. She serves me in whatever way I command of her."
"Willingly?"
"That's how a BDSM relationship works love. She gets freedom to be wild and I reign her in when I need to. Exhibit A." I say gesturing around us
"Why did she come after me in the first place?" Elena asks
"Rebekah gave her information regarding our previous experiences with one another which set Lorelei off and brought her here, searching for blood."
"And..if she had killed me?"
"She'd regret it."
I turn and walk out of the bar searching for my enraged pet.
I find her pacing near a bench a few miles away.
"What is your problem?" She growls
"Excuse me?"
"She tried to murder all of you and you let her live?" She demands angrily
"It's complicated love." I say
"Yeah that's exactly what your sister said. But why?"
I gesture towards the bench.
"Sit."
"No Nik I don't want to sit down. Tell me what's really going on!"
"Sit down Lorelei." I command
She sits down reluctantly.
I take a deep breath and explain as best I can the history. It's a long story. She doesn't speak a word, letting me explain it all and when I'm done she just sits in silence for a few minutes.

"Wow." She says
"Like I had said. Complicated."
"And you and Stefan are friends? After all that?"
"Sort of."
She waits for a long moment and I know what she's about to ask, even if she doesn't want to.
"What about Caroline?"
"She made her intentions clear. That doesn't matter anymore love. I'm with you. It was a long time ago."
She nods.
"I'm sorry for all this. I just got so angry from what Rebekah had said and-" She trails off
"Everything is different when you transition from a werewolf to a hybrid love and sometimes not for the better. There is pros but also quite a few cons and one of them is that your emotions are hightened. Everything affects you more. Sadness is suffocating, happiness is a high and anger, well that can drive us to do something drastic." I say
"You all make it seem so easy to deal with." She says
I stroke her hair gently.
"I've had more than 1,000 years to come to terms with being what I am. Hayley has been a hybrid for nearly a decade. You'll get used to it too love. All it takes is time."
Tears fall from her cheeks and she wipes them away, hoping I don't see.
This conversation is bringing up a time she'd rather forget and it's not going to get easier.
I waited too long to have this talk with her. I need to have it now. I wasted too much time.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you transitioned." I say
"It's not your fault. I took on the Alpha of my old pack because what he believed in was twisted and wrong and it wasn't going to change. I triggered my curse 5 years ago fighting for what I believe in and I never regretted it. We all learned from a young age what taking a life what do. But the fact that afterwards we had to take lives just to be a part of the pack was messed up. Those people were our friends, our family. That was his solution because there was so many of us. He believed that only the strong and the ruthless were worthy. I took off to handle it because it was fight. I just didn't expect the others to poison me beforehand. I don't regret killing him, because now they are all free, with Emma as their leader."
Emma.
The girl she had saved.
She doesn't discuss that time in her life. She was too broken when she had returned and ever since she'd been trying to come to grips with being a hybrid.
I had strongly suspected she had killed her pack's old Alpha even though she'd never confirmed it until now. From what she had told me, he was heartless.
I had given her a vial of my blood just in case, knowing all too well she wouldn't let me join her. We had fought each other about it for hours beforehand.
Freya found a way to break the sire bond when Lorelei had come back. When she had returned she was covered in blood.
Lorelei would've fought sooner but it took 5 years to find them. They kept moving from place to place, cloaked by witches.
After five years they finally settled, believing they were safe. They used the witches to hunt down people with werewolf heritage and kidnapped them and and continued the sick tradition.
Lorelei had heard about it from a werewolf who had also escaped and had Freya do a locator spell. It had worked and Lorelei left to hunt down her old Alpha.
"Maybe you should go see her." I say
She looks at me confused.
"Emma." I clarify
"Maybe. It's hard to believe she's 20 now."
"You're only 23." I say
"Yeah because I don't age anymore. God it's hard to believe I was only 18 when I ran away."
"You found a better life for yourself love. You helped them have a better life too." I say
"Yeah." She says
After a long moment, she breaks the silence.
"I'm ready to go home now."

God complex
A hero is summoned to another world, vanquishes evil, yadda yadda, saves the kingdom and lives happily ever after. There is no such hero in this story. Just a desperate youth with great ambition and very little to lose. A zero to hero style story set in a country clearly inspired by modern USA with just as many issues and the minority of mages often pulling strings from the shadows. I am also hoping the whole thing won't turn out edgy enough to cut me. I want to rely on actual good writing rather than cheap powertrip gimmicks. edit: Please don't mind Zetari's salty review. He is quite literally making up any use of the torture and human experimentation trope and says MC is blank after 4 chapters where he conveniently stops reading just at the start of his first character development. For extra entertainment, I will be uploading chapters two at a time and compose a relevant poem through the chapter names. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: End of the Five, Twenty-three, and Twenty-nine Years Story
Alternate titles: - Five, Twenty-Three, Twenty-Nine Years - 5, 23, 29 "Dad? I think I got a really bad fever, why do I still feel fine?" "It feels cold..." Five years ago, Owen became a Court Wizard in search of his father who was lost to the unknown three years prior. But that wasn't the beginning of the story. Maybe it began twenty-three years ago when Ronald Bell and Joshua Ruze saved the Illyer family. Or perhaps, it all started twenty-nine years ago, when Ronald, the son of the wealthiest merchant, became a Court Wizard. Well, it doesn't matter anymore, for the story five, twenty-three, and twenty-nine years ago shall now meet its end. 2nd book written in the Wizards of the Otherworldly series. Read Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia first. This story is split into two 'Collections,' Ronald's Collection and Owen's Collection, each centering around those Court Wizards. Crossposted with WordPress site, Wattpad, Sufficient Velocity, and Rainobu. Wizards of the Otherworldly Court is a fantasy story about the Otherworldly Court, an inter-dimensional (or world-hopping, you get the idea) organization made up of people of all ages, gender, and race from many parallel or different worlds. They are granted elemental-like magic powers and called themselves 'Court Wizards'. They are tasked to watch over the many worlds they come across and step into these worlds on 'missions' to preserve the balance, life, order, anything to make said worlds better places in the shadows but may reveal themselves if necessary. However, these missions may partially or even fully oppose their nature, personal interests, and ideals. Yet, most of the Court Wizards are aware and willing to complete even the worst missions that would shatter their true selves that they will never cast aside regardless, either growing or regressing because of it. Basically, it's isekai to multiple worlds but each book after Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia focuses primarily on one world while also discussing its lore in detail. Book Alicia is the introduction containing the essential worldbuilding of the Otherworldly Court universe you need to know while shoving in as many characters and worlds as I can. Also, each book will have a different main character, sometimes more than one in a single book, like Jojo.
