Rue Newby was just a kid. She was young, she was just beginning to understand how life works. So why is it, that when she was a kid, everything turned to shit? The blooming innocence of being child was ripped away the day she watched her mother take her last breath. She lost her innocence that one day at the baseball field, surrounded by people she never wanted to see again. She lost her innocence that day she killed, she didn't mean to, but it happened.

At this point, all she wanted was a fresh start. She didn't care with who it was, or where it was. She wanted to get away, she wanted an out. She want to forget everything and start a whole new persona.

And so, she did. Rue had moved in with her father in a small township in Indiana. From first glance, Hawkins was calming and much better than the city she came from. But every town has its secrets.

Through all pain and agony, she's met some of the best people she'd ever thought she'd meet. And holding onto the last piece of hope she had left, Rue wondered if her life would turn out better than she expected when she met the girl from sunny California. She wondered that if this time she loved, she wouldn't lose. Because all her life, she's loved and loved, just to lose.

It's currently December 9th, 2021 just over a year since I re-wrote Her Mixtape and I want to re-write it. AGAIN. I just realized that once again, my writing style has changed and I really want to update this book with it. However, Her Mixtape has grown so much since I've re-written it and I'm absolutely terrified about losing all of the comments and interactions that have happened here which I am completely in love with because I've made so many friends through this story. So, I'm currently going through a dilemma, and if Stranger Things 4 does not come fast enough I will end up re-writing the book for the 43082408th time. 😑😑

I think it's because I miss Rue Newby a lot rn. She's my bae guys. #gonnastealherfrommax
