Chapter 2: Start
ZEIDEN accepted everything that her mother brought and placed it inside her luggage without minding what are they as she is a hundred percent sure that her mother would never bring her harm.
Her supposed-to-be-bag is a simple ruby ring that her parents gifted her and her mother enchanted with space magic that is why it is now like a storage world as it could store even a two-story house. The ruby ring's magic made it easier to store foods without spoiling them as time didn't exist in it.
"Are you really going now? Can't we stop you? Can't you just stay here?" her mother said emotionally.
Zeiden sighed before she replied, "Mom, we've already talked about this, right?"
"Alright, alright! Just be careful on your way and once you get there."
"Ha?! Do I need to, mom? I think it's them who should be careful of me!"
Because of Zeiden's statement, Luv's lips twitched into a wide, bright smile. She'd miss this conceited girl.
"Should I create you a portal to use or should we ask your father to summon his guardian so that you could use him?" her mother said as she was about to go.
Zeiden immediately stopped her mother and smiled brightly.
"Mom, I'll do the traveling alone. I love you! Tell my father I love him as well! See you soon!" she replied before she vanished into thin air.
The magic that she used were called dispersion magic and teleportation magic. Some mage could make themselves disappear using magic. However, using dispersion was a bit different because people would see how your body would pixilate as it would slowly become dust-like particles before disappearing in the air.
When Zeiden finally left their house, the couple immediately had a heartfelt talk about her and made up their minds.
They never knew that they would have to do something again. But this another fight was for their daughter. They have to face it, for Zeiden.
ZEIDEN's sweat dripped as she sat on an old tree trunk lying on the grassy ground. She is currently in the territory of the mages whose specialty was wind magic after such a long journey.
"I still have a long way to go. Fighting!" she said to herself while she is busy tying her currently gray hair.
She was informed by her mother to change her hair and eye color every time she would go inside a different territory and since she entered the territory of the air mages, she made the color of her hair and eyes gray.
"Oh! I just noticed, up until now there's no beasts attacking me!" she muttered after a few daydreaming.

"It's a good thing that my mother sprayed something to me earlier. It's probably the reason why."
Since she still has a long way to go to finally reach her destination, she chose to rest for a while.
Based on the map that her brain could remember; she has to reach five kingdoms before she could finally reach the school.
The first kingdom she is currently entering; the Kingdom of Wisteria.
The school she wanted to enter was placed above the ground. It is at the far end of Primrose—the last kingdom she has to pass.
The Land of Chronus was divided into five estates; the Kingdom of Wisteria, Kingdom of Bellis, Kingdom of Mintoq, Kingdom of Plumeria and the Kingdom of Primrose.
Plumeria or the land of the warriors. Everyone that was born in this kingdom was trained to be a great warrior. The warriors here were mostly fire mages with great physical strength. The Castle of Plumeria was placed inside a magical volcano that burns intruders and does not affect the royals.
Mintoq or the land of the warlocks and witches. Coming from this land, they must excel in spell casting. Mages from this land were mostly earth mages who were very excellent at casting different types of spells. The Castle of Mintoq was placed underground.
Bellis or the land of the mermaids and mermen. Mages in this land may or may not have tails—it depends on them because mermaids in this land were allowed in having feet. Unlike in the tale, these mages could walk freely. They could also breathe underwater and talk. Their specialty was healing. The Castle of Bellis was also placed underground—under the water.
Wisteria or the land of the archers. Mages in this land could never be fooled by anyone's speed. The wind is their friend—they claimed it—so they could see through it. Mages born in this land mostly have their own wings—or it seems so since almost all of them could fly. The Castle of Wisteria was placed above the Forest of Spikes. And yes, it is a floating castle.
Primrose Kingdom or the land of the celestial beings, the final kingdom. A lot of mages said that it is the land of the legendaries while some said that the people in this land are the most terrifying mages as they are a mixture of two different race.
All normal mages only have one attribute they are compatible with and a few special abilities. If a person was born with an elemental magic like fire; it would become their dominant magic. Even if they try to study other types of magic, they would never excel in that area. But that is not the case for the Primrose-born people. Since they were a mixture of two different element, their magic is also in a different level.

Primrose is the largest kingdom that ever existed in the whole history of mages. People there before even built a magical academy free for everyone—Mystique Academy. Sadly, the castle and school vanished ages ago from the mages naked eyes after a terror that caused a lot of casualties. Only mages who are enrolled in the school, some mages with special cases like a high-profile person and mages with Orphedeus blood could see it.
THE GIRL rubbed the sweat on her face as she tried to dig the space ring's inside to find anything useful during that exhausting moment.
"Please. I hope mom put a lot of food here," Zeiden prayed silently.
The ruby ring swallowed her hand when she touched the ruby that earlier that is why she could freely move her hand to roam around and search for food. When her hand felt the coldness coming from a solid object, she immediately took it out.
"Yes! I finally have a cold water to drink!" Zeiden exclaimed happily as she took out a steel water bottle.
She immediately opened the lid and drank the water to feed her thirsty throat. Zeiden smiled happily before stopping herself for a while to take a breath. And then, when she was ready to drink again, something unexpected suddenly happened. A man running fast startled the woman, causing her to pause while her arm that was holding the drink hanged in the air.
"Miss, help!" she heard him say panicky.
Zeiden turned around and a handsome face appeared in front of her.
At the breathtaking scene, her jaw dropped.
Well, this is the first time she has met another man besides her father anyway, how could she not get shocked?
JACKSON Ventus, a prince from the Wisteria Kingdom and the most playful and happy go lucky among the five princes of every major kingdom inside the Land of Chronus.
Because of the offense of being caught in the middle of escaping the Kingdom of Wisteria without the approval of his father; the king, fighting inside the market and damaging a lot of vendors, making a commotion inside a diner—the man was sentenced to a temporary ban on using his magic using a seal as his punishment.
The young man could not accept everything and remained stubborn. As a result, he went out on his own without informing his parents goodbye again.
He was resentful when he was leaving the palace that is why he did not immediately realize that he already reached the middle of the Forest of Spikes until his mind was cleared
The forest isn't a normal one. The plants and trees inside are all alive—they would either eat a person alive or attack them. Aside from that, it is also filled with winged beasts.
The reason why he was running away is because he tried playing with a small dragonfly by catching it out of boredom. However, it suddenly turned big and angrily attacked him.
Now, in the present, he is still being chased by the dragon fly while desperately running away from it.
He has no chance of winning against it. The dragonfly was the spirit guardian of the forest—based on the white crystal-like core he saw in his head.
Maybe if his power wasn't sealed, he could have tried fighting it before running away, at least.
He was already on the verge of giving up. He was just waiting for death while thinking of his family; if he died in the arms of the dragonfly, how long would it take for them to find his dead body?
His mind was filled with his dying scenarios until he saw someone—a tall girl with a fair complexion with gray hair and a gray pair of eyes.
Goddess—that was all he could think of then. No face can beat the face he is seeing now. Not ever.
The pair of gray eyes immediately captivated him. Then, he eventually forgot about the giant dragonfly who was about to eat him alive.
Is she the goddess of the forest? He thought.
Because of the gray-haired lady, he felt as if his time stopped for a few moments before it reverted back to normal.
"[Don't worry, I got you,]" he heard her confidently say in a familiar language.
Dang! Her voice was so sweet and gentle. She even knew how to speak using the imperial tongue—Orphes.
He felt like a damsel in distress for a moment. Instead of helping the lady, he was like a rod, watching the breathtaking scenery to take care of his supposed-fight.
When the girl made her last move, she winked at her.
It startled him. That was just a wink! Why does his heart keeps on crazy now as if he is running?!
Good heavens! His heart felt as if it was slain by the mysterious lady. He felt like palpitating. He needs a lot of oxygen.
Jack unconsciously placed his right arm on his chest before crumpling that part of his clothes.
The woman only used her fists to knock down her opponent but she was able to defeat it without so much difficulty so he became even more fascinated that he got lost in his own thoughts.
But before he could talk to her, the dragonfly had already made its last move—and he was the one who got struck by its tail!

A Fractal Divide
Lesivar is a city in ascendancy. With recent innovations in magical crafting, the common people are experiencing a boom in comfort and wealth. The nobility, long used to being the stewards of knowledge and power, struggle to adapt to the new world in which they find themselves. A precarious balance has been maintained throughout, but forces stir beneath the surface threatening to send the city spiraling into chaos. This is my first attempt at writing anything longer than a short story, and I welcome any feedback or corrections. I'm posting this as I write, with each chapter going live upon completion. My current pace is about a chapter a day, which I expect to take my through the end of November. From there, I'm shooting for a chapter every two-three days until the book is completed, along with an editing pass of what is already up. I'm planning on three POV characters with unique insight into the story as it unfolds. Each chapter will contain only one POV. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
