《Unstable [Pokémon Fanfic] (Complete!)》6.1

Sometimes Cerise is actually smarter than I take her for. The reason she was so bent on catching that Gible was to use him in her battle against Clemont. She found me so I could watch her. I didn't think she'd be ready until tomorrow. I guess she's just full of smart surprises today.
She's made good work of Clemont's Pokémon. It's now 1 on 2 Cerise's way. This is actually the first time this has happened for her. With my help of course, but still.
"Ruben!" That's what she decided to name the Gible. "Dragon Claw!" Ruben's claws start glowing bright blue. Clemont's Helioptile is using Quick Attack. They meet and both are sent spiraling backwards.
"Helioptile! Use Grass Knot!" Helioptile buries his hands in the dirt of the indoor battlefield and small roots started crawling towards Ruben.
"Um..." Cerise says nervously. "Use -"
"Dig," I say quickly. "The roots don't go down that deep."
"Dig!" Cerise calls with more confidence. Ruben does so and comes back up under Helioptile a few seconds later. The Electric type is launched into the air and crashes back down hard.
"Helioptile is unable to battle," the ref says. "The winner of the battle is Gible. Therefore the match goes to the challenger, Cerise"
"Awesome," Cerise yells. Ruben does the same. Well he didn't yell awesome, that would actually be pretty cool though, but he did yell. Cerise thanks Ruben and recalls him to his Pokéball before running over to get her badge. I wanna get out of here to go hang out with Sienna. I like her a lot actually.
She wasn't at the hotel place when I checked. Maybe she went to the center. I hope she did. Like I said, I wanna hang out with her today. I haven't had the chance what with all the drama that's been going on lately. There actually isn't really much to do in this city when you think about it. Maybe we could go to a café or something. It's about five o'clock. Maybe we could just go look at the tower when it's lit.
I couldn't find Sienna. What is actually going on? That's the second person in our group who's gone missing. Are we all just gonna go missing one by one? And better yet, I can't sleep for some reason. I'm just laying here starting at the ceiling. It's actually kind of lonely. I actually kind of miss Malachi... I actually feel pretty bad about that argument. I have for a while. Since I saw Jasper and Peridot reunite after Jazz was released. Those two are gonna make a cute couple one day.

Speaking of couples... is it bad that I'm more worried about Sienna, a girl I've known for like a week, than Malachi, I guy I've known for about two years? But Sienna it's so pretty. Strange yeah, but she's fucking beautiful. She actually looks like a model or movie star. If she was, I'd be sure to see every one of her movies. Plus, everyone else in the group has someone. Cerise has Malachi. Jasper has Peridot. I want someone too, and who better than this perfectly sweet and gorgeous girl. Well, doesn't look like I'm gonna get some actual sleep any time soon. I guess I might as well get up.
I roll off the bed and look out the window. My window looks right out onto the battlefield. It's actually really cool. It looks like it's someone out there. It's that Jasper? Dark hair, slouching body, that Eevee, the hat. Definitely Jazz.
I'm out on the field in a few minutes. Jasper seems to be concentrating hard on training that Eevee. Timo, I think was his name.
"Timo," Jasper calls. "Spin and use Swift again!"
"Eevee!" Timo jumps into the air and starts spinning clockwise. That's when bright yellow stars start flying around everywhere. Some cut the branches from trees. When Timo stops spinning he stands stiffly and waits for another attack to be called.
"Great job, Timo! You didn't get dizzy this time," Jasper says with a rare smile. Man, when he smiles it's like I'm actually looking at a younger, black haired me. It's pretty weird, actually. We're not even full brothers.
"I gotta remember to use that one next time," he continues while walking over to pet his Eevee. The little pinkish furred Pokémon smiles cluelessly at his trainer. Then he starts to glow pale blue. "No way..." Jasper mutters. Timo grew taller and thinner. The fur around his neck disappeared, his tail too. His ears became more like a cylinder, and his face became smaller and more angular.
When the light disappeared, a black Pokémon was standing in place of Timo. It had bright yellow rings on its body that were pulsating. They had a slightly pinkish hue. Timo had just evolved into a...um... I actually don't know what it is.
"What kind of Pokémon is that," I ask Jasper. He jumps but Timo keeps his clueless, oblivious expression. When Jasper sees that it's me, he glares instead of his usual frowning expression.
"It's an Umbreon," he says gruffly. "They were first discovered in Johto. Perry told me about them."

"Oh. I didn't know Eevee could evolve without any special circumstances." His glare gets slightly softer but turns into a look of ridicule so actually not much better.
"It can only evolve into Umbreon at night. It evolves into Espeon during the day. Both only when you're close with it." He pets his Pokémon on his head. It's obvious he doesn't wanna talk but I made a pact with Malicai to actually try and be a decent big brother. This little bastard makes it hard to that, though.
"But how are you close with him? I haven't seen you ever play with it or even train it." At least lemme try to make some conversation.
"I only do it at night," he answers curtly.
"Why?" His expression hardens and he looks away angrily... Like I said, the little bastard isn't making this easy.
"Timo, let's try that Quick Attack I showed you." Timo, still clueless as an Umbreon, runs forward at full speed, then makes a hair pin turn in the opposite direction. He's moving a lot faster than he would've been able to as an Eevee.
"So you're just gonna ignore me," I state more than talk. "You're lucky I even gave Timo back to you."
"You didn't give him back," he snaps. "Your girlfriend did. You were being a little bitch."
Fuck you Jasper! "Oh, I'm being a bitch?!"
"Yes, you are. I'm already more mature than you'll ever be!"
I scoff. "Whatever, bastard." Shit! With that one word, I went to far. The look on his face let's me know that. It's a mix of anger and hurt. But I'm not apologizing. I can't.
I expect Jasper to walk away like he always does when we have arguments, but he just stands there glaring at the ground like he's given up. "I train at night cuz I know you don't want me to have a Pokémon. So you don't have to see it. There, happy now! I actually do give a fuck about you." The glare doesn't leave his face as he stares me down.
"Good night," he growls before starting to walk away. "Come on Timo."
"Umbri!" Timo follows his trainer without hesitation. I let them walk away. I can't apologize now. Not like I was actually going to anyway, but still.
...Now I'm really not gonna be able to sleep. And he's probably gonna end up running away somewhere. He's such a brat sometimes. And it's not like what I said was a lie. It actually is true. Still, I decide to go back in the center and see if he's still here, like the decent big brother I'm trying to be.
I go in and walk down the hall to Peridot and Jasper's room. They're taking to each other.
"I hate him," Jasper says. His voice sounds... different. Less confident. Sort of hurt. I'm still not apologizing though.
"You shouldn't," Peridot's sleepy voice says. "He's the only brother you got so enjoy him while you can."
The door is a crack open so I look inside. Peridot is lying down cuddling with Timo. Jasper sits on the edge of the bed. His hat is actually off, I thought he always kept it on, so I can see the line of stitches that run across some of his forehead and temple.
"Easy for you to say. Malicai actually cares about you. Sometimes I wish Russet would just die."
"Don't say that, " Peridot says. Now he's looking at Jasper. I didn't expect him to actually defend me. He always takes Jasper's side in every situation. It's fucking annoying. "He's trying his best to be a good big brother."
"Well his best is the worst!" Jasper lies down next to Peridot and sighs. "He always goes too far and never apologizes for it! He knows it's certain things about me he shouldn't say!" I leave at that because it's true, but I can't help it. It's his fault anyway!
I go back to my room. I should've just asked to share with Cerise; it's actually pretty lonely. I think about what Jasper said. How he'd wished I would die. I'm sure he actually meant it. I don't even think he'd cry if I did. He'd probably smile more. But if he died...I'm sure I cry like an actual baby. I don't know why. I've only known him for two years. And only loved him, or at least tried, for a few months actually. I guess it's because he's still my brother...
I really need to sleep now. This is actually really stressful. Maybe I should just die... Woah, what?! Where'd that come from?! Let's not think about dying...
Just yet.
