"When women go wrong, men go right after them." ― Mae West
"I was wondering if what's your decision?" he asked and I fell into silence. "Have you decided yet?"
What am I supposed to say? I was battling with my heart and head. I knew if I'm going to agree with him, Xandrous would surely hate me. What happened to the promises I made to myself? I promised to fight for him. I promised to stay by his side until he needs me.
What will happen to Deshawn if they find out he was lying? If they find out he was a gay.
His family will not turn their back in case they found out he is a gay. Of course, they are family. No one helps each one other their own blood. No matter who he is, I'm sure they will understand him and accept who he is. Part of my head justifies but the other half battling with the other.
What if they will disown him? His brothers were an army. And I remember he mentions about his family as a devoted Christians and most Christians are against the gender diversity.
"Vicky? Are you still there?" Deshawn's worried voice interrupted me out of my train of thoughts.
"Yes. I'm sorry," I replied shortly. I ran my fingers through my hair and shut my eyes as I let out a deep breath.
Whatever will be the consequences, I hope it's not going to ruin my happiness.
.................
"I'm glad that everything is working well, Loris. I'm afraid I can't wait for Ben, I have an important meeting in half an hour. Let him know that I'm holding this project again since my father is incapable of doing so. He needs to take a rest and watch his health." Loris nodded. There are three other men gathered behind him. And just like him, they were wearing jumpsuits and construction helmets as they huddled together while conversing. One was holding a white blueprint and unrolled it and the two engineers were listening intently as the other was explaining and periodically pointing at the paper and across the construction site.
"I gotta go then, Xandrous. I'll update you again whatever development in here," Loris look behind him and the three men nodded at him before he turns his face onto the screen again. We are talking through facetime.
"Alright, man," then I hit the end call.
I dialed Fred. The phone rang twice and he picks it up. "Yes, boss!" his deep voice sometimes bothers me, though I trust my Vicky not to swoon at his voice, still, I hate this man. He doesn't only have the bedroom voice, but he also has the looks. Anthony said he's the best man he could give me. I trust him so even when I disagree with his looks, I'm more than interested in his service.
"How is she?" I asked.
"She hasn't come out, boss since this morning," he responded.
My forehead involuntarily furrowed. She hasn't responded to my text nor calls. I thought she's still sleeping so I waited, but it's almost one in the afternoon.
"How about her parents?"
"They just left boss to meet some friends for lunch."
"And where are you exactly right now?" I asked.
"Just outside their door, boss. I'm their valet today, as instructed by Jaime."
"Valet?" I sat upright.
"Yes. I had to apply to any household position just to get close to her if you want me to watch her, boss. That's how it works," he responded briefly. He doesn't sound intimidated rather he sounded so calm and confident.

I nodded my head. I heard a door opening in the background. "She's coming towards me, boss," his voice lowering.
"Good afternoon, Ms. Vicky," I heard him greeted her. I little muffled, but enough for me to grasp any conversation the two was having.
"Good afternoon," her snappy tone. "Did you see my father and mother?" she asked, sounding vexed.
"They left an hour ago to meet some friend," my security told her politely.
She mumbled something I couldn't understand. "Do you need anything, Ms. Vicky?" my security asked. My ears perked up.
"No, nothing. I'm meeting some friends today, will you prepare a car for me?" she asked. I involuntarily sat upright, the phone was already kissing my ear, trying to catch up anything she's saying.
"Which car, Ms. Vicky? Camero, Ferrari, Lambor—"
"Whatever, as long as it can take me anywhere, should do!" she snaps at him and I found myself smiling. There goes my Vicky.
"Of course, Ms." I could hear the irritation in Fred's voice.
"I need it in an hour," she demanded.
I didn't hear any response from him. After a lengthy pause, I heard him spoke. "I apologize, Mr. Mailov. I have to go,"
"Don't bother preparing a car for her. I'll come and drive her myself," I told him and he agreed. I quickly connect a call to my secretary's desk.
"Clear my schedule today," I said before she could say something.
"How a—" her words cut off as I place the phone in its receiver and then stood up. Stuffing my phone and keys in my pocket, I grab my coat hanging behind my chair and headed to the door as I put on my coat.
I saw Kara rising up from her chair when she saw me and scuttles towards me. "Sir, how about your meeting with Mr. Simpson?" she asked as she trailed behind me.
I stop and swirled almost knocking her backward. She steps back promptly. She looks petrified. "I said clear all my schedules today!" I said in a very low tone, and she nodded apprehensively, looking down avoiding my cold gaze.
I headed straight to the empty elevator and punch the basement button. The machine seems moving too slow and I'm getting impatient by the seconds.
It took me almost an hour to get to their mansion which supposed to be just twenty minutes only and just because of a goddamn traffic. I had to wait since I was stuck in the middle of the traffic jam after a truck collided with a pick-up truck and blocked the road. Almost half an hour to wait until a tow truck moved the vehicle out of the way and the traffic started to move.
I pulled into their driveway and as my car approached their mansion, I saw her talking to Fred. By the looks of it, she looks angry. Fred still looks calm. They both stared at me when I parked right in front of them.
She looks surprised to see me. "You can go, STUPID!" she hissed and Fred still looks calm and nodded his head to me. "I don't understand why do we need another valet!" she mumbled as she approached me. My smile withered when I saw her outfit.
Clad in high waist tight fitting blue jeans paired it with a black tight fitting crop top and completed it with ankle black stiletto boots.
"Aren't you supposed to be working?" she raised her eyebrow at me. I met her eyes. I think my baby woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I shook my head inwardly.

"Don't you want to see me?" I teased and she rolled her eyes. She stood on her tippy toes and was about to kiss me when I pulled her closer to me and I kiss her hard.
She let out a soft startled yelp and her hands automatically clung around my neck. We were both panting when our lips parted. After our breathing calm down, she spoke. "I'm meeting my friends," she said, her palm resting on my chest. My hands still around her slim waist.
"Not until you go change your top," I said sternly. Her face disgruntled.
"I like my outfit today," she pulled herself away from me and then walk past me to my car. I watch her as she stubbornly defies me and slid inside the passenger seat with confidence. Puffing an air out of frustration, I walk to my car and slide in the driver seat. She gave me her widest smile as she leaned her back against the seat.
"Who are you meeting with?" I asked as I gunned the engine to life.
"Glenn and Cyrus," she smiled as she shifted her body to face me. I slowly pulled the car out of their driveway.
She wasn't wearing any make-up, not even a lipstick and it made me smile. I like it when she's simple. She still looks hot, though, with or without makeup.
"Where are you meeting them?" I asked as I emerge into the traffic. I took the expressway since I don't want to get stuck in another traffic jam.
"At Gyros" she responded briefly. I nodded as I drive at minimum speed. I reach for her hand that was sitting on her lap with my other hand and intertwined. She just smiled as she stares at our intertwined hands. I look on the road and once in a while I glanced at her, squeezing our hands periodically, feeling her palms against mine. A warm smile plastered on my face.
"How is your dad doing?" she randomly asked and I glance at her. She was looking at me intently.
"He's recovering well," I responded shortly as I trained my eyes back on the road.
"Xandrous?" her voice sounds uncertain and when I met her eyes, she looks reluctant.
Something was telling me that something is wrong. I pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant and then turned off the engine. I shifted to meet her eyes. "Is something wrong, baby?" I asked.
Her eyes seem aloof. I searched for her eyes as I reach out both hands. She was avoiding my gaze. "Vicky?" I called, trying to get her full attention. She looks uncertain. After watching her seems too lost in her thoughts, she finally met my eyes.
"I—" she started and paused, her eyes seeking something in my eyes as I locked on hers. "Okay, I talk to Deshawn," my hands involuntarily tightens around her hands but my mouth still shut, "we have a lot of drama going on between us so I decided to decline him, but he was begging me and he will ask me again." She looks torn, and I hate to see her like that.
I pulled her to me in an awkward position. "Thank you for doing that, baby. I'm not really comfortable with the idea. I despised it."
"And another thing," she pulls away and stared into my eyes. I look at her in full curiosity.
"Yesterday, remember when I told you I saw someone that I thought I know?" she inquired. I nodded.
"Yes, I remember that."
"Well," she smiled awkwardly, "I actually met him on the way to the washroom," she gave me a mysterious smile but with all her words, just one word caught my attention, him. "His name is Taryn Asker. Does the name familiar to you? Have you heard of him by any chance?" her eyes were expectant and I quirk my eyebrows staring at her eyes filled with curiosity.
I shook my head languidly. "No," I said.
She sighed. "He looks like you, in everything. He might be a year or two older than you, but he looks like your twin," she said. Her words pique my interest entirely.
"What's his name again?" I asked.
"Taryn Asker," she responded promptly.
I quickly pulled my phone out and started searching for Taryn Asker. A lot of links appeared on my screen. I clicked on the images and I was astonished at how true her words are. He does look like me.
My hand tightens around the thin machine involuntarily. Does dad has another family?
I click on one link and read his biography.
Taryn Asker, 27 years old.
Freelance Model at twenty and a full-time rising software developer. He was known for the Jarvis software which was now an in-demand application and was recently upgraded as a surveillance camera with a voice recognition software, will capture everything without amiss and has the capability to track the information anything that caught under the surveillance circumference. Will do what google does, a lot like Siri but more power to it such as energy saving, speak recognition and feedback. It makes human life easier.
"So he's a software developer?" Vicky's impressed voice drags me back to reality and I quickly snapped the phone away. I didn't realize she was leaning on my shoulder, reading the article, too.
"I'm just curious," she giggles as she sat back on her seat.
"Did that guy approached you?" I asked, stuffing the phone back in my pocket.
"Yes," she smiled. I involuntarily clenched my jaw.
"Why?" I asked, keeping my irritation at bay.
She shrugs her shoulders. "Maybe he found me hot!" she teased as she flashed me a taunting grin.
She looks happy but I can't ride on her joke. I hate it. I hate her response. Her smile withered when her eyes lingered on my face.
"Hey, I was just joking!" she mumbled promptly but too late, I'm already mad at that guy. "Come on, let's go," Vicky opened the door and climbed out while her other hand holding her Chanel sling bag and I climbed out of my seat, following her. She slung it over her shoulder and we walked hand in hand to the restaurant.
"So what do you think of him?" she asked as soon as we reach the door. I opened it for her and then followed her inside.
"He could have done a plastic surgery to look like me," I said feigning nonchalance but honestly, I was bothered with our extreme similarities. I need to talk to dad. I need to know if I happen to have a stepbrother. Mom said he used to be a gigolo before they got married.
She shrugs and then her eyes roams around the room. At one corner, two of her friends flagged us down and she smiled when she saw them.
I met them already at the bar. The three shared brief hugs and I just shook their hands. I pulled a chair for her across the two and I sat beside her. Cyrus flagged down a waiter and Vicky ordered a pop and I just asked for a water. The waiter handed us a menu and I scanned it. I noticed that Vicky was busy talking to Glenn, all the while giggling.
"Baby," I called her softly leaning in and almost kissing her cheeks. My other hand was resting on the back of her chair. She turns her head to me and smiled sweetly. "Have you decided yet what to order?" I asked rather whisper.
"Can you order for me?" she smiled, our nose almost touching.
"Awww.." I heard Cyrus giggled softly. Vicky's smile widens.
"Sure, baby," I smiled and gave her a quick peck on her lips. The two across us sighs giddily causing Vicky to giggle as soon as our lips parted.
"God, you two are so perfect. You need to make your babies soon. I'm sure they are beautiful and handsome little ones," Glenn gushed and I smiled. I like that idea.
"I'll start working on it, soon," I winked at her and when I look at Vicky, her cheeks had a shade of red.
"He needs to put a ring on my finger before that happens or dad would kill me!" Vicky commented and the two laughed.
I leaned my head to the side of her head and whispered. "So if I proposed now, will you allow me to impregnate you anytime?" The sound of it made me all excited. When I met her eyes, it sparkles. Mixed emotions swirling in the depths of her honey brown orbs.
"I love you," she silently muttered and I smiled.
"I love you, too!" I responded briefly.
"Gosh, you two stop it! I'm melting right now," Cyrus couldn't contain sounding like a girl as she gushed giddily. Glenn was obviously staring at us with dreamy eyes.
"Silly!" Vicky swats the air with her left hand, chuckling.
The waiter arrived with our drinks and I ordered us both their greek salad and a gyro. They were known for their gyros and where the restaurant name came from.
While the three was conversing and I pitch in once in a while, my palm rested on her waist, touching a part of her soft skin that was exposed whenever she moves. I hate her top, seriously, I need to go through her closet but I'm sure, she'll get mad at me royally and I can't afford that, not yet. I'm sure, I'll get a chance, maybe when we're married.
Squeezing her waist softly periodically, she gives me a smile but with a warning once in a while, but I just ignored it. My hand simply skims her soft sides as I watch them giggles with their stories. I love how her soft body melts against mine.
"Can we drop by the drugstore later?" I whispered against her ear.
She looks at me, curious. "Why?" she asked softly.
"I ran out of condoms. I need probably a dozen boxes." I whispered again and simply nibbled her earlobe. She let out a soft gasped and smack my thigh softly.
"Xandrous!" she shrieked softly. I chuckled when her cheeks were the color of a red tomato. She glares at me and then frantically look at her friends who was only beaming at us giddily. I gave them a sweet smile and gave her side a soft squeeze.
"What would it be like if we will have a quickie in their washroom?" I whispered again. I love teasing her though if she agreed, I will not say no to it.
"That's it!" she hissed rather a whisper. She stood up. Glenn and Cyrus look up at her in confusion.
"I need to go to the washroom, guys." She smiled and my eyebrow shot up.
I bit my bottom lip and winked at her. She blushed profusely and gave me a deadly glare.
I watch her back as she ambled to the washroom. "I'm glad you two got back together," Glenn started and I smiled. I'm happy too.
I noticed she left her sling bag on her seat.
"Well, thank you, Glenn. I'm happy, too." I said.
"Well, I hope you will not hurt her this time, Xandrous. She had been through a lot," Cyrus said and I nodded. Just as I was about to respond, my phone rang. I apologized to them as I pulled my phone out of my pocket and connected it.
"Yes," I smiled.
"I need my bag," she said. I smiled wickedly.
"Sorry, guys. Vicky need her bag," I said and grab her bag and then stood up.
