The next day, I was in a complete dilemma.

" Abhimanyu......listen, wake up!" I said after I had dropped Sahil to school.

" What Shivanya?" He groaned.

" Wake up na.....please Abhimanyu." I pleaded.

He did wake up but gave me an irritated look. I rolled my eyes.

" I am required at work today." I said.

" So go. Why are you waking me up for this?" He asked.

Does his brain not function properly in the morning or what!

" Maasiji, remember?" I made him realize.

" Her flight is in three hours Shivanya. You can go to work a little late." He said.

" I will have to ask boss." I muttered, picking my phone up.

Thankfully, sir agreed.

" I am going to get ready to drop maasi. You get the breakfast done for her." I said, getting up. I nodded and went to the kitchen.

I immediately prepared poha for breakfast and dal-rice for lunch.

" Good morning maasi." I said as she got out of her room, all ready.

She said a feeble good morning and I served her breakfast. Today, she ate without a tantrum.

" Maasi, let's go." Abhimanyu said as he was done eating.

I touched maasi's feet and then both of them left.

I quickly went to get ready. I was getting late so I texted Abhimanyu that I was leaving after laying out everything he needed to get ready on the bed.

Then, taking a cab I directly reached the court.

" Good morning sir and thank you so much." I said, spotting my boss.

" Good morning Ms. Sharma, are you done with the briefs that I had asked for?" He questioned.

I nodded and handed over them to him in the pendrive.

" Okay, I am taking the lead today so you need to make sure that I have everything with me as the hearing begins." He said.

" Definitely sir." I agreed and we went in.

And man he was good. He almost brought the prosecution to tears. Hats off sir!

" That was brilliant sir!" I exclaimed.

" Thank you Shivanya. The next date is after two weeks and we will try to wrap this up then. I need you to keep working on this. I'll make sure that you are not burdened with extra work because this is priority 1." He acknowledged me.

" Sure sir. I'll let you know as soon as I find anything." I said.

I nodded and we started for the office. He was kind enough to give me a lift.

I was midway through the Kemkha file when my phone rang.

" Hello." I said.

" Shivanya, I am picking Sahil up today and taking him home." Abhimanyu said.

" No Abhimanyu, I'll pick him up." I said. That's my job and I love it very much! He can't snatch that away!

" Shivanya, I have to go home anyways so I'll pick him up." He said.

" Home....why? Don't you have a in time and an out time? You go whenever you want and come back as you wish!" I exclaimed.

" That's my company and I am the CEO. I decide my work hours." He said. I could see him smirking and I rolled my eyes.

" Fine....the lunch is in the microwave. Just reheat it." I said.

" I knew that." He replied.

" Of course! That's why the kitchen was a mess the other day." I taunted.

" I'll see you in the evening." He said, I knew he had no come back.

" Bye." I said, hanging up and engrossed myself back to work.

It was 6 in the evening and I left for home.

" Anyone home?" I asked, entering the living room.

" Mumma." Sahil shouted, running towards me. I picked him up and twirled him in the air. He enjoys that a lot.

" Hii baby! How was school?" I asked him.

" Good. I want to go to the park!" He demanded.

" Okay...give me ten minutes. I'll change and then we can go." I said and he nodded.

I went to my room and it was empty. Abhimanyu must be in his office downstairs.

I washed my face, changed into track and Tshirt and went downstairs where Sahil was waiting for me with a ball in his hand.

" Let's go mumma." I bounced up and down. I smiled at him, took hold of his palm and left.

" Mumma, we forgot to ask papa if he wants to come." Sahil stopped midway.

It's okay baby. I'll call him." I said and dialed his number.

" Yes Shivanya." He said, busy.

" Sahil wanted to know if you wanted to come with us to the park, but don't worry I'll tell him that you are busy." I said.

" And how exactly do you know that I am busy?" He asked.

" I just know. Now don't irritate me. Bye!" I said, hanging up.

I had no answer to his question so the best way was to avoid it and so I did!

" Sahil, papa is busy today. Let's leave him to his boring work." I said.

" Yes mumma....papa is boring! You know what happened today? He burnt the food while heating it so he ordered burger for both of us then we fed the food to the cows! And the cows kept chewing it for so long!" He blabbered.

I.AM.GOING.TO.KILL.HIM.

Sahil played with his friends for an hour. Then I took him back home, made him wash his hands and drink his milk.

" Sahil, get your books to the dining table. I'll cook dinner and help you with your homework too." Instructed him.

He went to his room and I went to the kitchen.

Because both of them had eaten burgers today in the afternoon, I had to make dal, cauliflower with potatoes, rice and chappatis. Sahil is a growing kid and he had to eat the balanced diet once a day!

" Sahil, now you are going to recite A to Z to me." I said.

" No mumma! I have done my homework and now I want to play with papa." He said as Abhimanyu emerged from his office.

" Beta, it will only take 2 minutes. You recite and then you are free to go." I said, a little sternly.

Sahil ran away. This kid!

" Abhimanyu, go and get him here." I said as I was getting the chapattis done.

" Shivanya, let it be." He said.

" No Abhimanyu, he needs to learn it by heart." I replied.

" Women and stubbornness." He muttered, going into Sahil's room.

" I heard that." I shouted but he did not reply.

" Now Sahil..... A to Z." I said.

Like a good boy, he did as he was told.

" Good boy." I complimented him but he did not say anything and went to his room .

Kids and their antics! I'm sure in thirty minutes, He will come out, shouting mumma mumma.

" Mumma mumma.....see there is a cockroach in my room!" Sahil came out running. He looked amused more than afraid.

I screamed.

" Where!!!" I immediately got hold of Abhimanyu by his arm and took Sahil in mine.

" Relax Shivanya, it's just a cockroach." Abhimanyu said.

" No Mr. Singhania, we are not arguing about it right now! How did it even come into the house!" I screamed.

" Calm down Shivanya, look even Sahil is not afraid." He said.

" Neither am I." I lied.

" Really? Then why are you holding my arm as if your life depends on it?" He asked, sounding amused.

I let go of his arm.

" I don't mind this....but you'll have to let me go if you want that cockroach out." He whispered in my ear, making me shiver down the spine.

" Huh?" I said.

He made me look towards my hand which was still holding the sleeve of his Tshirt unconsciously.

I left in immediately.

" Sorry." I muttered to him, blushing.

He chuckled and went to Sahil's room. Sahil followed him. I didn't. Obviously.

" It's gone mumma." Sahil shouted after two minutes.

" Good." I shouted back.

" Now come for dinner." I added and they did after I made Sahil wash his hands.

I made him eat and served Abhimanyu. After Sahil was done, I had my dinner too.

After putting Sahil to bed, I started walking towards mine. It was dark so I couldn't see Sahil's football lying there and I tripped over it.

" Shit. Ouch!" I almost shouted.

My ankle had twisted and I couldn't get up.

" Shivanya! What the hell happened?" Abhimanyu said, getting out of the bedroom.

" I tripped and twisted my ankle." I told him, trying to stand up.

" Stop. Don't move." He said, walking to me.

He picked me up in bridal style before I could protest.

" Abhimanyu! Put me down!" I shrieked.

He paid no heed to my words and started walking towards the room.

He was so fucking close to me and was making me nervous! Shivanya doesn't do nervous!!

He made me lie down on the bed.

" Okay, this is going to hurt a bit but you'll be alright." He said taking my left foot in his hands.

" Abhimanyu......no, don't touch my feet!" I exclaimed.

He raised an eyebrow at me.

" It tickles." I confessed, not meeting his eyes.

He gave a very amused look to me but twisted my leg.

" Ahhh.." I shouted and my hand immediately found his free arm.

He did it again and it hurt like hell for the first two minutes but then it was gone completely.

I left his arm that I had grabbed.

" I am sorry." I said, sheepishly.

" Don't worry. These hands are not weak." I said, smiling

" How did you do that?" I asked amazed, hopping on my feet again.

" Hey, easy there tiger. It can come back soon." He said, holding me by my arm to stable me.

I nodded and then I remembered. He had burnt the food!

" Abhimanyu, what did you say about knowing what to do with the food in the afternoon?" I shouted.

" Lower your voice down. Sahil is asleep." He hissed.

" You burnt the food and then orders burgers for you are Sahil! Heights of irresponsibility!" I shrieked.

" That was a mistake." He defended himself.

I sighed.

" You are supposed to heat the food for a minute. That's enough." I informed him.

" I know that." He replied, looking smug.

" I don't think so or else the food would have been consumed by both of you instead of being fed to the cows." I taunted.

" Sahil told you, didn't he?" Abhimanyu sighed.

I rolled my eyes.

" Now once I catch you rolling your eyes, You'll regret it later." He said, his eyes masking a deep emotion.

" I love doing that to people who deserve it. I don't need your permission." I said, he cannot tell me what to do and what not to!

" Don't tell me I didn't tell you earlier." He said, sounding like a warning.

I rolled my eyes to prove my point.

He shut his eyes, irritated to which I laughed.

" Don't try me Shivanya." He warned.

" Don't try me Abhimanyu." I mimicked.

" Good night." He said, almost sulking.

" Good night." I replied, lying down on my side of the bed and let sleep engulf me.

The next day, again Abhimanyu has his hand wrapped around me and my leg was on his.

This was plain embarrassing. Pillows were surely a better option!

" Abhimanyu, leave me." I tried to move him over but he didn't budge.

" Abhimanyu!" I said, shaking him again.

" Do you have a problem with my sleep?" He muttered, leaving me and turned to the other side, looking cute.

" No, now you can go back to sleep." I said, chuckling and went to get Sahil ready for his school for the day and make his tiffin box.

I had got used to this life now and Sahil and Abhimanyu had sneaked into my life so well that it felt like they were always a part of it and I loved it.
