"What is this?" I asked looking at the plate infront of me with disgust.

"The burger that you asked for." Mariano said.

"I didn't ask for a burger." I said.

"Yes, you did. I asked you 'Isabella what do you want to eat?' and you said 'a burger'."

"I never asked for a burger I wanted a salad. Look at me I'm already fat enough as it and you want to get me a burger. Are you trying to make me obese. I simply asked for a salad. Can't you just get me salad?" I full on cried. Why was I crying you may ask? The simple answer is, I have no idea.

"I'm sorry I'll get you a salad, just don't cry." Mariano said taking up the plate and walking to the counter.

Being pregnant is such hard work. My harmones are all over the place, I vomit every morning, My breast are getting heavy and they hurt periodically, I'm getting fatter by the day and the worst thing of all is the unexpected abdominal pains.

Mariano came back with a plate of salad and I smiled. "Thank you." I said.

I took up the fork and put some in my mouth then spit it back in the plate. I didn't feel for it anymore.

"I don't want this, I want a burger." I whined.

I haven't really been having hormonal problems that often until this morning. I just woke up feeling moody as hell.

Mariano looked at me and rolled his eyes. "Eat the salad." He said.

"I don't want it." I said folding my arms.

"Fine, what do you want?"

"Pancakes." I said.

"Isabella, it's 1 in the afternoon, they don't serve breakfast items at this time."

"I want pancakes."

He let out a long sigh and got up once again to get me pancakes. I was happy that I was gonna get pancakes.

When he returned with the pancakes. He looked at me dead in eyes and said, "You're lucky they had these left over."

I dragged the plate closer to me and the smell of the pancakes made me wanna puke. I pushed it aside and said, "I don't want these."

Mariano looked like he was on the verge of killing me. "Isabella, I am not getting up again to change your food again, so you are gonna stop your whining and eat the pancakes." He said sounding annoyed.

I made up my face like I was gonna cry and Mariano began hitting his head on the table saying, "I.am.never.getting.her.pregnant.again." between each hit.

"Can I just get a damn burger, that's what I asked you for the first time." I said getting angry.

Mariano slowly looked up at me from the table with his eyes narrowed into slits. He brought his hands up forming them like they were holding an imaginary throat. More specifically my throat.

I gave him an innocent smile and he got up once again and went to the counter. He came back with the burger and I ate it happily. After I was done we headed back on the road, to go visit my parents and sister.

"Hey mommy." I said hugging her.

"Hey sweetie, I've missed you." She sighed, "I can finally see what you look like again. And your hair,"She ran her fingers through it," It's gorgeous."

"Thanks mom. Where's dad and gabby?"

"Your father is in the kitchen, I swear I can't keep that man away from food."She began to walk to the kitchen and Mariano and I followed her. "Gabby is in her room with James, I swear I can't keep those two apart for a good minute, It's like they're siamese twins, If I didn't know any better I would've thought they were joined at hip." Mom spoke. 

Mariano and I laughed at my mother's choice of words. She was a really weird soul. But I loved her.

"Hey honey, how are you?" My dad said hugging me as we walked into the kitchen.

"Hey daddy, I'm good."

"Wow, look how fat you've gotton." He said holding my shoulders and looking at me properly.

My mother slapped him upside his head. "Don't you know you shouldn't call a pregnant lady fat." My mom scolded him.

"Sorry honey, you know I'm kidding. You look absolutely beautiful. And your glowing." He said kissing the top of my head and I laughed. My parents are so silly.

"What are you cooking?" I asked dad.

"Dinner." He said smiling.

I rolled my eyes. "Ha ha, you're so funny." I said. "I'm going to look for Gabby." I said walking out of the kitchen leaving Mariano with my parents.

"Knock before you enter." My mom shouted to me with humour evident in her voice.

"I was planning to." I shouted back.

I walked up the stairs headed to my sister's room. I knocked on the door and heard shuffling from the other side of the door. I knocked again.

"I'm coming." I heard my sister's voice shout.

I sighed and leaned against the wall waiting for her to open up the door. After a couple seconds the door opened a little and Gabby poked her head out, when she saw me a big smile spread across her face.

"Issy." She shouted, then she opened the door fully and hugged me.

"Hey, um, what was going on in here?" I asked looking into the room at the messy bed and James pulling a shirt on. I looked down at my sister and noticed she was only wearing a big shirt.

"Nothing." Gabby said as her face resembled a tomato.

"I don't even wanna know." I said. "Get dressed and come down stairs." I walked off shaking my head.

I went back into the kitchen where I found my parents and Mariano laughing and chatting. Well things are going great in here.

I took a seat beside Mariano at the island and took an apple from the fruit bowl that's placed in the middle of the counter.

"So honey, did you find out the gender of the baby yet?" My mother asked as I bit into the apple and Gabby walked in with James on her tail.

"Yeah. I'm having a boy." I said and my father's face lit up.

"Finally another man in this family." My father said.

"Oh shut up John." My mother said rolling her eyes.

"You're having a boy? That's amazing." Gabby said.

I smiled.

"I bet Mariano has been praying for a boy." My father said.

"Oh you have no idea." Mariano said with a smug look.

We all laughed. 

"Okay, dinner will be ready soon, are you staying for dinner James?" My dad asked.

"Yes sir." James responded.

"Come on girls, let's go set the table." My mom said gesturing for Gabby and I to follow her into the dining room.

"So, how are things going with you and Mariano?" Gabby asked taking a plate from mom.

"Okay, so far I guess. I mean he's nicer than he was before, so that's something." I said shrugging.

"Oh. How do you like living with him?" Mom asked.

It was burning me on the inside to tell them about the attack and that one of the most dangerous men in the world might be after me, but I decided against it. Telling them I was in danger would only make things worse for everyone.

"It's okay, he has a little sister. I haven't met his parents though." I said.

"He has a sister? How old is she?" My mom asked.

"16 turning 17." I said.

"Oh, I thought she would be like your age." Mom spoke.

"Nope." I said popping the 'p'.

"Omg, Issy you're blond." Gabby said staring at my hair in utter surprise.

"You're just noticing?" I asked in disbelief.

"One person can't be that oblivious." Mom said shaking her head.

"I heard that." Gabby said to mom.

"You were suppose to." Mom retorted.

We finished setting the table just as dad and the boys came in with the food. We all sat down and shared out what we wanted onto our plate. I ofcourse-because I'm feeding for two- took a good amount of everything.

"Mariano, are you excited about being a father?" Dad asked.

"Yes, I already love my son to death." Mariano said. I almost choked on my pasta. Did that just come out of Mariano's mouth? Am I hearing right?

My mother put her hand over her heart. "That's so sweet." She cooed.

This reminds me of the last time we had dinner with my family. Although things weren't going so smooth the last time.

"I can't wait until he's here." Mariano spoke again. My heart was melting as he held my hand under the table. He looked at me with so much love in his eyes it was unbelievable, then he looked down at my belly and rubbed it with a proud smile on his face.

I swear there is a big pile of mush were my heart used to be. It melted.

"You guys are so adorable." Gabby said putting her hand over her chest.

Mariano leaned in and gave me a kiss on my cheek. He whispered something that only I could hear.

"I'll protect you guys forever." Was what he said.
