《Marrying my Opposite》67- Becoming one

Raghav's POV:
The honeymoon surely acted as a get away for both of us. All the troubles, work, everything was left behind as soon as we step our foot at our destination.
Tanya still missed Sia, but the sadness had evaporated in the sweet, soft air. Calls were also banned unless it was a state of emergency. We were only allowed to talk to each other, after the last call we made to our family to let them know that we reached safely.
Of course, the honeymoon was supposed to be romantic, but we were talking about us. More than the romantic moments, our days were filled with humorous bickering and teasing.
The first two days seemed a little awkward as we were never truly alone before. The month we had spent in another town was totally different as firstly- we weren't in love, secondly- I didn't have any time. We didn't really spent any time with each other in that month due to the workload. However, here we were together 24/7, with no disturbances and no excuses.
The awkwardness soon vanished after our first stupid fight here. My ever so clumsy wife managed to break an antique piece that was placed at the corridor of the hotel. I wouldn't have fought if it happened because of her slipping or something like that.
The girl just wanted to act like a drunk person. Her acting skills were spot on as the staff did think that she was totally out of it. A round of applause for her acting but seriously how can one manage to make such a diaster while being sober.
It wasn't the only mishap but we managed through all the things. After all, Tanya had found a new way to melt my anger. One peck and I melted right away.
As days passed by, our awkwardness was left far behind. We got so close to each other. Speaking about our inner feelings, being unashamed before each other, our fears, our secret bucket list; everything was out in open.
Along with our emotional intimacy, we physically got closer too. Like I said it all happened with the flow. We never thought or planned and everything just happened in the moment. No, we didn't go all the way. There was always a hidden, unknown obstacle that stopped us. But it didn't matter. We were happy and comfortable with whatever we were doing.
In these days of honeymoon we saw an array of emotions that passed through us- awkwarness, happiness, shyness and so many more.

We blushed, we teased, we taunted, we laughed; last but not the least, we enjoyed our togetherness.
And here we were on our way to return back after checking out from the hotel.
We still had one last stop to visit but as it was on the way to railway station, we decided to go there at the last and directly go to the station after enjoying there.
"Oh Goodness!! It's extra cold today", Tanya spoke while rubbing her palms.
"It is not only cool but also windy", I responded, trying to manage the hat that was about to fly away.
"Huh? What's the use of coming till here? It's closed", Tanya pouted as she saw the closed sign.
"But I checked the timings", I frowned. "Let me go around and ask", I told her before going to ask to the stall owner nearby.
"Are you tourists? Go back to the hotel fast. There has been a landslide few kilometers away and seeing how weather is, it won't be long for this area to be affected too", the man adviced, after I asked him about the closed flower garden.
"Let's just directly go to the railway station. We will just pass our time until train comes", Tanya suggested.
"All trains are cancelled", the man informed us.
"What?!" Tanya and I shouted in alarm.
"The next station is covered with fallen trees. At the rate wind is picking up, there's no guarantee that this station would be spared too. We all are leaving for our homes. Find shelter soon. The weather report said it is going to rain heavily tonight".
The man left after closing his stall, leaving us in worry.
"What do we do? We already checked out from the hotel", Tanya asked. worriedly biting her lips.
"Let's go and check if we can get another room until the weather cleares", I said optimistically.
Our room was already given to some other family. Plus there wasn't a single other room left. The hotel was fully booked. We tried searching through other hotels, but ended up with same fate. The news of the bad weather had spread throughout and all the hotels filled up in a jiffy.
"I am so tired", Tanya puffed out air, as she dragged her legs.
It had been almost four-five hours since we were trying to get a room. She was really fit but dragging the luggage in this cold wasn't easy, especially when we weren't used to this atmosphere. If this was Tanya's condition, then mine was worst. The girl was a dancer, a 100 times more fit than me. I was on the verge of collapsing. We didn't even have much water left with us.

"Should we take a break at that temple?" I asked, pointing towards a huge temple that was at the end of the road, we have been walking on.
"Yeah, hopefully we would find some water there", Tanya readily agreed and we geared up to walk some more steps.
"Shit!" Tanya exclaimed, looking at the temple.
It was heavily decorated. We couldn't possibly take shelter here when someone was having their wedding.
We were about to turn around dejectedly, when we were stopped by a nobleman.
He asked about our problem and ushered us inside. There was a washroom beside the temple, where we freshened up.
We sat down on the steps of the temple with a tired sigh.
"Here", he said while forwarding us two plates of food.
"Umm..", Tanya and I glanced at each other uneasily.
"This was the food prepared for the wedding. I hope you don't mind".
"Thank you", Tanya gratefully whispered and took the plate.
Tanya had already started eating, so I shrugged it off and ate the food as well. After all, all this walking had made me hungry too.
"Is the wedding already over?" I asked as even though there were few people who seemed to be workers and a Pandit, there was no sign of groom and bride.
The Pandit came from behind and answered instead of that man.
"This great person here is Manohar ji, he pays and arranges wedding for the poor people who cannot afford it. This wedding was arranged by him too. However, due to the landslide, roads are blocked, making it impossible for the Groom and Bride to reach here.
"Don't know when the roads will open up. We can donate the food to the needy, but all other preparations have gone to waste", The Pandit sighed.
We felt bad for them. So many things were prepared. The only good thing was that they weren't stuck like us. There were a few rooms behind the temple. They all were planning to saty there itself until the weather cleared out.
I was about to ask Tanya whether we should request them to help and share the room with us. However, before I could say anything, Tanya asked me about something really different.
"Should we get married?" She asked with wide hopeful eyes.
"What?" I was flabbergasted to say the least.
"Everything is ready here. We just need to perform the rituals. Don't tell me you forgot about your promise to marry again".
The girl was bubbling with excitement. Give it up to Tanya, to think about this when everyone is amidst a disaster.
"In these?" I pointed towards our battered attire. We looked far from a wedding couple.
"Come on, we totally look like a run away couple. This is one of my dreams. Please please please", She requested, joining her hands, looking at me with puppy eyes.
And so we got married again. This time happily. The vows spoken this time came from our heart. Unlike our first wedding, where we performed everything mechanically, this one was performed with full consciousness and happiness.
We even received the key for the room prepared for the wedding couple.
"Woah! So this is how a room looks at a wedding night", I remarked.
"Are you taunting me?" Tanya asked with a frown, thinking about our wedding night where I had slept in Rishi's room.
"Of course not. It wasn't your fault. The situation was like that", I assured her, looking at the room decorated with rose petals.
A heavy wind blew by and the electricity blew off.
"Shit! What do we do?" I asked worriedly.
"There are candles in the side drawer", came a loud voice from outside the door, startling us.
We chuckled after a few seconds and started searching for the candles.
"This looks so romantic", Tanya commented as the room glowed with dim light, the candles offered.
"I guess this was the reason why we couldn't go all the way before. It was just so that we could have our wedding night that we missed before", Tanya spoke as she advanced towards me.
"Are you sure?" I asked. Although I was very excited, I didn't want her to force herself for me.
"Of course dummy, I wouldn't have said anything if I wasn't sure", she said, poking my chest.
And...the beautiful night continued.
