《Marrying my Opposite》46- Dance and new house

Tanya's POV:

How much ever I protested it, I was glad that my feelings were now out in open. Yeah, it felt awkward to face him now but it was far better than crying inside and avoiding him altogether.

Being the sweet, caring person he is, Raghav never made fun of my feelings. One thing I really felt grateful was that he didn't change his behaviour around me. I had been dreading that he would walk on eggshells around me, after my confession. Although unintentional, his changed behaviour would have made my heart ache. However, it was just my fear that never came true.

There wasn't much change in our relationship other than the fact that I stole glances of him whenever I had the chance🤭. Our bickering didn't stop either.

'I mean just because I love him, should I agree to his every weird command? Nope, not even in his dreams'.

He didn't stop taunting me and I didn't stop fighting back. 'What?! Everyone knows that he is the one who starts the fights'.

Between the preparations of Rishi's wedding and opening my dance academy, I didn't even realize how time passed by.

All the family members supported me in my new venture and I finally opened my academy in the nearby town. It was just a 10-15 minute travel by train.

We knew that people of this town wouldn't send their kids as they were aware of my family history. So we collectively decided to open the academy in the nearby town. It wasn't that far away and the probability of finding students there, was more. Even if the other towns and cities knew my father's name and crime (which he never committed), they couldn't connect it back to me as I now went by Raghav's surname.

It was a slow start but the academy was doing great. Most of my day was spent there. Balancing work and home life wouldn't have been possible if my family wasn't supportive. And by family, I was talking about Raghav and my in-laws. Let's just not talk about the lecture and curses I received from my parents.

I totally forgot to speak about the best part of these months- The dance practice. Everyone was practicing for the Sangeet function and I was choreographing every single performance.

'Ah! I finally had the upper hand in something', I thought, clasping my hands gleefully.

Dance was something, where I excelled. Finally a thing where I was better than Raghav. And I took full advantage of it. I teased him relentlessly, but only when we were alone.

Raghav hadn't faced mamy embarrassments, unlike me who held a PhD in it. So I knew that he wouldn't be able to take my teasing in front of others and would get hurt. And hurting him wasn't my intention. After all, pranks and teasing were done for fun; and not for hurting someone's sentiments.

Although Raghav wasn't a great dancer, he was my best dance partner till date. The heavenly feeling that I experienced while dancing with him was incomparable.

My long train of thoughts was halted when Trisha shook me violently.

"How can someone be so engrossed in T.V, that they couldn't hear their name being yelled so many times?" Trisha huffed.

I chuckled sheepishly. She didn't need to know that I wasn't even aware of what was currently playing on television.

"Now come on. Resting time is over. We need to decorate Rishi's house before we leave for Havelock Island", Trisha said frantically, urging me to stand up fast as she pulled my hands.

"Rishi's house? Did you mean Rishi's room?" I asked in confusion.

Trisha stopped short on her way and looked at me with disbelief.

"Don't tell me that you aren't aware about his new house".

"Umm...". If it was possible, I was more confused than before.

"Dammit!!" Trisha stomped her legs in frustration.

"You know what? Just come with me. We don't have much time left. I will explain you everything on the way", she muttered and started pulling my hand again, causing me to stumble a little because of her fast steps.

"Ah! This idiot. All these things should have been already informed to you long ago by Raghav. What was he even thinking?" Trisha muttered to herself as we continued our brisk walk.

"Raghav always assumes that I am aware of everything. Because of which, I always get to know about things at the last moment", I replied her unasked question with a snort.

Rishi buying a new house was a big deal. It was so embarrassing that I didn't even know about it even after living in the same house with him.

"I can't believe him. Raghav is seriously going to get a lecture from me", Trisha grumbled.

"Yeah do that. But first tell me, when did Rishi bought the house? How can you all buy houses like buying vegetables?" I asked, astonished by this family.

Trisha chuckled at my words. "Guilty as charged", Trisha agreed.

She raised her hands in surrender and in the process my hand which she was holding got raised too, making us burst out in laughter. We stopped our walk for a second as we tried to calm down from our laughing fit.

"We were already in the process for buying that house for Samar's elder brother. However, situation turned out like this and we gave up that house for Rishi and Nikhil", Trisha explained.

No wonder they bought a house in such a short notice. Wait...

"What situation are you talking about?" I asked.

"You do know about the constant fight between our family and Nikhil's family?" Trisha inquired, looking like she had lost hope.

"I know that much", I retorted and frowned when she let out a sigh of relief.

Ah! Seriously. Just because I wasn't aware of the house, now she thinks that I don't know anything about what goes inside our house.

"I will kill you right here, if you don't change your expression", I threatened her.

"Oops, sorry". She apologized, making puppy eyes.

I scoffed as if it was so easy to melt my anger.

"Come on, don't get angry. You won't even forgive me, your best friend", she continued her cute act.

How much ever I tried, it was too hard to stay angry at her.

"Ok ok, you are forgiven. So what were you saying?" I asked, while resuming our walk.

"You know the fights about who will stay at whose house. Usually us girls move out of our home and go to our in-laws but that fact doesn't apply here as they both are guys", Trisha said.

"Yeah I remember the never ending fights. Our parents wanted Nikhil to come and stay with us while Nikhil's parents wanted Rishi to move in with them after marriage. The same fight kept on and on everyday. But then it stopped suddenly", I said, furrowing my eyebrows, not remembering when they had actually patched up.

"They stopped because Rishi and Nikhil came to a conclusion to not side with anyone. Tired of the fights, they decided to buy a separate house nearby. And I think it was the best decision. Choosing to stay with any one family, would have surely hurted another one", Trisha spoke, before stopping near a house.

"Here it is", she forwarded her hand to show the new house.

It was really beautiful. Although it was smaller than our home, it was enough for two people.

We started our work as soon as we entered. Raghav too joined us after sometime.

Few minutes hadn't passed and as expected, he started taunting me for making a mess. I really think that taunting me equated to oxygen for him. He didn't leave a single chance. Although he wasn't able to taunt me to his heart's content as Trisha started scolding him for not telling me things on time.

Amidst all the taunts and lectures, we finished decorating the house for the new couple.
