Tanya's POV:

Finally!

After a week of constantly reassuring Sia, that I was okay, she finally decided to let go of her worries slightly.

At first, I made sure to only call her when Raghav was at work. Not that he refused to let me call her. But if he heard about the constant doubts, Sia had about him, then it would have surely hurt Raghav's feelings.

Speaking about Raghav, that man was practically invisible. Everyday, he came after midnight and went back to work in few hours. I couldn't even say he left in morning, it was simply too early to call it a morning.

On the second day, while on a call Trisha informed me that the problem at the restaurant branch was a major one. It was only because of that call, I didn't assume that Raghav was doing this to avoid meeting me. Well, it was a plausible reason, considering the circumstances under which we married.

In all these workload, Raghav's promise of buying the couch was left unattended. He apologized, looking genuinely guilty and I too forgave him. After all who was going to sell him a couch at the late hours of night.

I was thinking of going and buying the couch myself. It wasn't necessary for us as we had grown comfortable with sharing a bed but still that couch was simply unusable.

I had the whole day to prepare myself yet when Raghav came inside the room at night, my hands trembled and my heart started beating faster.

Just like our wedding night, he silently did his thing. Maybe, just maybe, he was nervous too and ignoring me was his idea to get over it.

As promised, he laid down on the extreme end of the bed. Even if I was extremely glad for it, I also knew that he would fall down from the bed.

"Umm..you will fall down if you try to turn. You can use more space", I suggested, while facing the wall, not having the courage to look at him with my reddened face.

"It's fine. I won't turn at all. I am going to sleep in this position for the whole night", he replied, with his back towards me.

"Ok". I didn't fight him, thinking it was better this way.

We both slept with our back facing each other and with an ample space between us that could fit two more people.

"Don't", I shouted as he switched off the lights.

Sharing the room with him was already frightening but turning the room dark would make it unbearable.

He didn't react to my loud action and silently switched on the night lamp for me.

"Thank you", I whispered and closed my eyes.

How much ever I tried, it was difficult for me to relax. But seeing his unmoving stiff form, I understood that he was a man of his words. He kept his promise.

I finally managed to doze after two hours.

As days passed by, my trust on him grew naturally. He was irritating-yes; but he wasn't the monster, I had feared.

I went out to look for a decent couch in the evening as the afternoon heat would have killed me. Raghav too came near midnight, so I was sure that I would have enough time to cook dinner after coming back.

"Huh?" I was confused seeing the main door of our house open. Coming near, I saw Raghav pacing to and fro in the living room.

He stopped as soon as he saw me entering.

"Where the hell were you?" he yelled.

I couldn't even understand what was going on, before he started scolding me.

"Do you even know how worried I was? I came home and you weren't here. You weren't even picking your phone. How can you be so careless?"

I had never seen him yelling at someone. Yes, he had gotten angry before, but never like this.

"I..I went to look for shopping. My phone's battery went down so it got switched off", I answered in a low voice.

"Do you even realize how many bad thoughts ran through my mind? You don't even know anyone here. I was scared shitless but why would you care? How can someone be so irresponsible?"

With every passing second, his voice started raising more and more.

I closed my eyes in fear, imagining the worst outcome of his anger.

He suddenly went quite. I opened my eyes to see him clutching his hairs in frustration.

"I...", I wanted to explain but wasn't able to say anything as I choked on my tears.

I flinched seeing him advance towards me and waited for the beating. Mr. Pratyush had already given me a sample, maybe I will receive the whole product today from Raghav.

"Wha...", came Raghav's voice.

Not feeling any pain, I uncovered the arms that were hiding my face and saw Raghav looking at me with a pained expression.

"Sorry", he whispered and hurriedly left the living room.
