《Broken | completed》Chapter 19

"Goodnight, love," I stirred in my sleep and opened my eyes when I felt someone press their lips to my forehead. Kaden was placing me down on the bed and tucking me in.
"You're back," I say, a lazy grin on my face. He smiles at me and tells me to go back to sleep. "Are you okay?" I ask, sitting up. "Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine, love," he replies and walks towards the bathroom, shutting the door. I stay sitting up, not entirely satisfied with his answer. He soon comes out of the bathroom, in nothing but his boxers. Where's his clothes? I mean, surely he's gotta walk out with them? Eh. "I said to go back to sleep."
"I know, but what happened?"
"Nothing, absolutely nothing. Seems it was a set up of some sort. We waited for a good few hours and nothing, so we came back." Nothing? Really? "Now will you go back to sleep?"
"Alright," I say, but I was a bit unsure whether or not he was telling me the truth. He got into bed as I lay down and he pulled me towards him.
"I said I'd mark you," he suddenly said, his lips against my neck. I felt his canines nip against my neck. "Ready, love?"
***
I woke up, my neck feeling slightly stiff. "Good morning," he spoke, happiness clear in his voice. Although, his voice was quite raspy too. Nice.
"Good morning," I chirp and get out of the bed. He had a smirk on his face and he watched me walk around the room. "What're you looking at?" I ask him and he doesn't reply, just grins. "Kaden?"
"Mine, you're mine," he grins out. He carries on staring at me, and I give him a look telling him he's crazy. I make my way to the bathroom and have a quick shower, then wrapping the towel around myself. I walk out of the room, which proved to be a bad idea because Kaden was still in the room and his eyes. "Mhm," he hummed and I hurried to get some clothes on. Well, I got clothes and changed in the bathroom. I don't think it would've been a good idea to change right in front of him.

When I walk out, he had finally gotten out of bed and was stretching. His back was to me. You could see his back muscles. Like, woah.
"Um, bathroom is free," I mumble. He walks past me, winking at me, and heads into the bathroom. I make my way downstairs, hoping to find Marco. If Kaden wasn't going to tell me the full truth, maybe Marco would. Maybe he even told Edna, who would then hopefully tell me. "Marco," I call out when I saw him.
"Yes, Luna?"
"What happened last night?" I ask him.
"Oh, we went to the place and Alpha Kaden and Lucien - the King of Vampires - had a conversation of some sort. It was a rather private one, so I don't know what was said. But yeah, that happened. It was rather interesting, I mean it was odd. Alpha Kaden wouldn't tell me what the conversation was about so I suppose all you could really do is rely on him and- hang on, why are you asking me? Haven't you asked Alpha Kaden?"
"I, uh, yeah? I mean, I knew it. He didn't tell me the full story," I grumble out. I thank Marco, who looked scared out of his wits. I then walk away, making my way up to our room again. He was still in the bathroom but I heard him finishing up. I stood at the edge of the bed with my arms crossed, waiting for him. He came out off the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. Must not stare - I am mad.
"Hey, love, you okay?" he asked when he noticed my look.
"I don't know, you tell me."
"Uh, seriously, what's wrong?"
"You weren't going to tell me about Lucien, were you?"
"Who told you? Was it Marco? I'll kill-"
"You won't do anything to him, Kaden. Now tell me, what's the problem? What happened, and tell me the truth this time," I scowl, slightly angry consider in this technically involved me. I mean, they apparently want me.

"He was confused as to why you weren't there. We spoke. He wants to see you, but I won't allow that. You will not meet him, and he will not meet you. He's bad news, love, and I'm not having you associated in whatever. I mean, he wouldn't tell me why he wants to speak to you. But I don't care, he's not ever going to."
"But-"
"No-"
"It isn't your choice, Kaden."
"It is my choice. It's my job to keep you safe, meaning you will not go anywhere near him and he will not go anywhere near you," he growls out, making me jump slightly. He won't hurt me. "I-I'm sorry, love, I didn't mean to-"
"It's fine," I whisper. "What if it's important?" I ask, going back to the topic of Lucien. What if if was?
"I can't lose you and knowing him, what he wants is probably bad news."
"Come with me then," I try and negotiate, but I knew it probably wouldn't work. Either way, the curiosity was absolutely killing me.
"No, Nova. We aren't going. There's nothing that you can say that will change my mind," he says and starts to get dressed.
"Fine, I'll go on my own then." I start walking towards our bedroom door but before I could open it, Kaden put his hand on the door stopping me from leaving. I turn around, face-to-chest with him. I look up at him, not entirely realising how close we actually were. "Kaden.."
"You are not going." I put my hands on his chest, trying to push him away. Damn, I am weak.
"Kaden, go away."
"Tell me you're not going." I thought about it. I could tell him I'm not going, but go. I mean, he did say tell. Ha, loophole found! "He's bad news. Think about it, he's killed pack members. He won't hesitate to kill you, and I am not losing you."
"Then come with me, it's that simple." I could see him thinking about it and I mentally smiled in victory.
"Fine," he finally breathed out, "we'll go. First sign of trouble and we leave."
"Okay, sounds fair to me. Now, uh, move back a bit." His whole facial expression changed and he smirked at me.
"Hm, why?" He was leaning down a bit more than he was before.
"Because we, um, have a meeting to set up." He leans down completely, pecking me on the lips. He backs away and his eyes glaze over, and I was guessing he was probably speaking to Marco. "Turns out we don't have to, he's here already."
"What?"
"Come on, he's downstairs." We head out the bedroom door and downstairs. He's here already, what the hell?
"Kaden, how nice to see you again," a guy spoke, who I assumed was Lucien. He was pale, very pale. He had black hair which clearly had a lot of gel in it. He was handsome, I'll admit that. His eyes were red and when he spoke, I could see his fangs. They weren't too long as I thought they'd be. His gaze fell upon me.
"What are you doing here?" Kaden asked, glaring at him.
"Hello, sister." Say what?
