《Broken | completed》Chapter 9

Everyone was staring at me, and I hated it. Their judging eyes were fixated on me. I held tightly onto Kaden for dear life, making sure I was with him at all times. By now, he had introduced me to the pack and I had been accosted into it. I was also introduced as the Luna. Now? Now we were mingling with everyone. Marco and Edna were with us, as well as Marco's mate.
I felt scared, I didn't like them all staring at me. When he introduced me, and when we went through the ceremony of where I'd be accepted into the pack and as Luna, everyone was judging me. It scared me and made me feel nervous. I hated it, I really did.
"Love, I'm not going anywhere," he whispered into my ear. I knew he was indicating for me to loosen my grip on him, but I wasn't going to. I carried on holding onto him tightly, trying to shy away from the judging eyes. They didn't make a move to come towards us, and I was glad. "Are you okay?" he asks, looking down at me.
"Please can we go?" I ask quietly, keeping my eyes focused on him. I didn't want to look around, I couldn't. The pack intimidated me a lot, scared me too. You're being paranoid, Ariella told me. But, I didn't believe her. I couldn't. Thoughts swirled my mind, mainly thoughts about my old pack. Their eyes looked as if they knew what I did.
"We have to be here, we're the Alpha and Luna."
"They're staring," I whisper.
"Because you're absolutely beautiful and you're their Luna. They're just afraid to come over. Don't you worry, love, they're good people."
"Okay," I answer back, loosening my grip on him a bit. I heard a few muttering of the word 'rogue' making me feel uneasy. They knew I was a rogue..they'll treat me different won't they? "They hate me," I mumble to myself.

"They don't hate you, and if they do I don't care because I like you." My heartbeat had sped up a bit, and I'm pretty sure he knew that because he smirked. "I'll be back," he said to me, trying to get my grip off of his arm.
"Can I come with?"
"You need to socialise with the pack, love. As much as I'm loving you actually wanting to be by my side, you must socialise on your own. I have to go do something. Marco, gather some warriors and meet me out front." Was there a problem? "I'll be fine, don't you worry about me. Okay?"
"But-"
"I'll be fine," he goes to kiss my lips, but stopped. Instead, he kisses my cheek. Why did I want him to kiss my lips? He wanders off, Marco behind him. Thank goodness I was left with- crap, where did Edna go? I frantically look around, getting worried when I saw a few people coming up to me. I have to get out of here. Before I could make my escape, they say hello to me after bowing their heads. There was a young woman, accompanied with a middle aged couple.
"Um, hi," I reply, fidgeting with my fingers nervously. I think they saw that, and the young woman frowned.
"No need to be nervous, Luna. We are a pack, and we love you already. We are happy that our Alpha has found his Luna. You've been accepted, there's nothing to be afraid of," she spoke calmly, and put a reassuring hand on my shoulder.
"It's the stares, I don't like it," I reply back with.
"Mum, dad, I'll be back." The middle aged couple nodded, walking off. "Come on, then," she led me away from the people, which I was thankful for. We had ended up in the kitchen, though, which I'm sure people would still come in and out of. "It's okay to be nervous. This is a new pack, and obviously a new beginning for you considering you were a rogue. You have nothing to be afraid of, not even the stares. They're just admiring their new Luna. Can you blame them? Look at that beautiful dress you're wearing!" She's so nice. "I'm Carla. My mate is the TIC, but he's gone off with Alpha Kaden and Beta Marco."

"Oh, I'm..well you know who I am. Where did they go, anyway?"
"Uh, I'm not too sure. Owen, my mate, didn't say. Told me not to worry," she said while frowning.
"I'm sure it'll be okay."
"Yeah, should be. If it's a problem, Alpha Kaden knows what to do. So, do you feel less calm now?"
"No, I was never good with social situations. I'm okay now, only because it's just you and I. But if I go back out there..I couldn't."
"Don't worry. Stick with me and everything will be okay. Yeah?" I nod my head and smile at her.
"How old are you?" I ask, curious to what her age was.
"Twenty, and that couple were my parents. They're in their forties."
"Oh, okay. That's good. I'm only seventeen," I tell her. "When did you and your mate meet? Owen was it?"
"Yes, it was Owen. We met three years ago, so I was your age. He's twenty one, so he was a year older than I. It was funny, because I was in your exact same position. I was a rogue and stumbled upon this pack. Luckily for me, Owen caught me and then we've been in love ever since. When I was accepted into the pack, it was awkward at first but they're ever so accepting."
"Oh," I do admit, it did make me feel much better about my situation. "Shall we go out then? I suppose I do have to appear as a strong Luna, don't I? No point shying away," I say, heading out of the kitchen.
"Wow, did I just help you?"
"Yes, you did actually. Thank you. I mean, you made me feel better. I've got to be strong, but I'm still nervous. I kind of want Kaden back with me, he's kind of my rock at the moment. I've spent all my time with him, and now he's gone and I'm with a bunch of strangers. It's really scary. I mean, I've had Edna with me..but I don't know where she went."
"Well don't worry, you'll adjust. Plus, you have me now."
"Thank you, Carla."
"Anytime, Luna."
"Mind calling me Nova? I mean, I prefer it. Luna still scares me."
"Like I said, you'll adjust. But of course, Nova. Now come on, let's mingle! Show the pack who's boss!"
