Alice's POV
I slammed the cubical door, sitting on the floor, my head against the wall of the cubical. I wasn't going to lessons in my state. I was still fuming with anger about the baby. I just wanted it gone. I wasn't going to cut, because it wasn't worth it and I didn't know what else to do.
"Alice Smith. Get back here, now!" My English teacher yelled, walking into the bathrooms. Yes, I walked away from her. I didn't like her. She was always in a mood and she was extremely strict.
"Piss off." I spat, my anger building. I wanted her gone. To leave me alone and to sort my head out, but she was pratically invading my personal space!
"Don't you dare use that language! Come out now!" She screamed in anger, bashing on every door. By now, I was laughing so hard and I couldn't control it. I knew she could hear me, and tears were already rolling down my face. I clenched my stomach, gasping for air as I laughed more and more.
She bashed down the whole of the cubical I was in. Sending all the walls to hit me. Now I was ready to pounce at her. I pushed the door off me, and stood up.
"Bitch, this is what you get for child abuse." I leaped at her, pulling her hair till a massive bunch of hair got pulled out. I slapped her so many times, she was begging to go. I punched her face, hoping that tomorrow, she would be left with a black eye. I stopped and let her free.
"Alice, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you." She apologized. "I will have to report this to the head teacher though."
She wasn't going to report me. She just hurt me. Child abuse. "I don't think so." I quietly mumbled.

"Excuse me?" She raised her voice.
"Well, you hurt me. Making the cubical collapse on me. Vandalizing property. I don't think you can report me, when you're already sacked." I said through gritted teeth.
"Oh, hun. We all know that the teacher is always right. I won't even be taken to court! But you, love. If you do as I say, I won't snitch." She grinned.
"Who do you think you are? Who has enough strength to break down a cubical? Oh yes, you. Becase, certainly, a child wouldn't be able to do that! And you better watch your mouth, before I beat you up more." I poked her and she screamed.
"Pathetic you are. Pathetic." I chuckled, walking away from the bloody scene.
"Oh you get back here, Alice!" She started speed walking towards me.
"No. You go away. I'm sick of you and your terrible attitude." I giggled to myself. _________________________________________________________________________

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
