Joseph's POV
I woke up, rubbing my eyes. Then I realised. It was the day I was going to meet Amy and preferably talk her through what had happened in the past.
I got out of bed, stretching my body. My head was banging. It was probably a hang over due to the amount of beer I had. I was underaged to drink but I wasn't going to follow the Law. It was my life, I could decide what I could and could not do.
I heard my phone buzz, so I decided to see the message.
'Hey bro. Can't wait to see you again.'
It was from Amy.
I got in the bathroom, locking the door and undressing myself. My six pack was on show and that's what I loved. I stepped in the shower, closing the transparent doors and switching the hot water on. The water cascaded down my well-built body, dripping to the floor and flowing into the drain. I washed my body and my hair. The shower was very refreshing. I then turned the shower off, grabbing a towel and walking into my bedroom.
I got a blue t-shirt with buttons and a pair of black trousers with black shoes. I admired myself in the mirror, taking a bottle of aftershave and spraying the whole of my muscular body. I was feeling a bit nervous. It has been ages since I saw Amy.
I got another message, presuming it was Amy.
'You won't get away with this.'
I ignored it. Whoever attempted making me frightened had failed, bad. I had loads of stuff to do before I could visit Amy. I had around 7 hours. I wanted to do some food shopping but I couldn't get caught. I'm an escaped prisoner. Well, I would of been if I actually made it into the prison cell. I had to go to the shop, no matter what.

I went into the dungeon and found Kayleigh's watch. I'll just leave it here. She's coming back anyway.

Daisy's POV
"Daisy! Wake up!" James shouted, battering me with the pillow.
"WHAT!" I frustratingly yelled, snatching the pillow from him.
"Kayleigh. She has some explaining to do." He smirks.
"So! We'll do that later! I want to sleep!" I turn onto my side and close my eyes.
"No! You can't!" He moans, pulling away the covers.
"Why!"
"Because. I want to take you to a cafe for breakfast."
I lean up, looking directly at him. A grin shows up on my face.
"You keep spoiling me." I laugh, getting out of bed and going to the bathroom.
"You're my best friend, Daisy. Of course I would." He chuckles, following me.
"Eh...eh." I look at him then looking to the door.
"Oh, right. I'll leave." He smirks.
I shut the door and strip down. I desperately needed a shower.
Once I had my shower, I unlocked the door and to my surprise, James was sitting on the floor, crossed legs, facing me.
I only had a towel on me, so this situation could of got awkward.
"JAMES!" I shout.
He turns around, covering his eyes with his hands.
"I won't look." He smirks.
"You better not!" I warn, going to my room.
I opened the wardrobe door and found James' clothes hanging on the racks. He could of kept his stuff in his suitcase. I choose a red dress. Once I had got that on, I brushed and dried my long, brown hair. I then put on some deodorant and perfume.
"James. I'm ready." I open the door. He wasn't there.
I sigh, putting on some white, short socks and my white Vans, before heading downstairs.

"James." I gasp.
He was wearing a very posh suit. Black blazer, white buttoned up shirt with a blue tie and a pair of black trousers.
"Yes, my lady?" He smiles.
"You..you look very.."
"Posh, gentlemanish?" He hands me an golden envelope.
I look at him in curiosity, ripping apart the golden paper.
Iwas speechless. I didn't know what to do or even say. My mum had just contacted me through letter, explaining I have an older brother which I don't even know. She had lied to me for years.

Joseph's POV
I threw Kayleigh's watch on the bed, storming out the cell and slamming the door behind me. It wasn't even time to see Amy! I was so desperate! I went into the living room, grabbing my phone and searching the long list of contacts for Amy.
'Amy, I can't wait any longer. Meet me at the woods now.'
I placed my phone in my pocket and collected my stuff, going out the door. I had to be careful. I didn't have time to go the market. It was probably already busy and full now. I bet I'm on the news everywhere. Maybe Amy's already found out and is scared to meet me. I mean, I'm meeting her in the god damn woods where nobody goes. What is she going to think? If I arrive there and 10 minutes has passed. I will text her and probably hurt her for wasting my time. No lie, I would hurt her. I don't have emotions or feelings for my sister now. We haven't seen each other in ages. I've lost her trust. Everything.
Damnit. I can't believe I'm saying all this.

A Virtual Invasion
An invasion from another dimension is shut down by an Empire's traitor and the world has a scant few decades to build the strength to resist a multidimensional Empire. How will the world fair when no one even knows its doom is one barred gate away? Fortunately, the traitor has a plan. Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
