After waiting, I had a strong feeling it was time. I slowly walked towards the door which I left open and peeked out. I was surprised to see my kidnapper sitting outside the door with his face in his hands. Was he crying? I sat down next to him.
"What's wrong?" I sighed. I didn't want to be kind to him as after all he is my kidnapped and he did hit me!
He looked up at me, cupping my chin with his large hands. His green eyes sparkled but had blackness in them too. "I don't want you to go."
He was such a softy! I mean, he's meant to be strong and scary, but he's just sat on the ground sobbing! I felt sorry for him the tiniest bit. I rubbed his forearm and stood up.
"It's 11:00am." I whispered quietly. He stared up at me, tears running down his green eyes. I wanted to smirk, but I couldn't. Instead, I frowned.
He got up and walked into the living room. He had a sheet and folded it up. He handed it to me and before I could say something, he went into the cell and grabbed my stuff. I gasped as he yelled in anger and pulled the door open.
"Come on." He demanded. I followed after him and went down the steps to the car. He opened the back door and I carefully climbed in, feeling guilty. But I shouldn't be feeling guilty, he should. He's the one who did the evil stuff to me.
He got in the car and we drove off. I couldn't wait to be back home. I could see James, if he stayed and waited. The whole journey was awkward and quiet. Every now and again, the man would look through the mirror at me. It was creepy.

We pulled up outside the Orphanage and I climbed out, grabbing my bag. I ran to the gates, swinging them open and legged it to the door. The man just slowly walked behind me. I banged on the door hard and there was an answer.
"Daisy!" James shouted, pulling me into a hug. I giggled and laughed.
Then the adult came out and greeted the man. "Mr Dale! How was it?" He nodded his head.
"Just call me Joe or Joseph." He laughed. Now I knew his name! It was Joseph Dale. I could report him to the police now. James dragged me to his new room and we bounced on the bed.
Meanwhile, Joseph and the care worker were downstairs.
_________
Joseph's POV
I didn't want to give Daisy up. She was so sweet. I know I abused her in the past but I was sorry. Uh. What am I saying?
The woman showed me to her office where another woman was sitting, drinking coffee. I pulled a tiny smile before grabbing a chair and sitting down. The woman looked kind but strict.
"Hello, Joseph." It was weird how she didn't address me as 'Mr Dale' but I didn't care.
"Hello." I politely spoke.
I rooted in my pocket for the piece of paper but couldn't find it anywhere. Then I remembered. I gave it to Daisy! She was going to burn it! If she did, I couldn't adopt her. That had all the legal rights on there.
"I am sorry but I handed Daisy the sheet." I said nervously but gutted.
The woman laughed. "It doesn't matter. Nothing important is on there." I was relived! I was terribly worried!
The other woman handed me a sheet to fill in. It was questions about Daisy that I had to find out. But I didn't. I didn't know I got given the sheet.

"All you need to do is fill in the questions. If you get full marks we will let you have Delilah for a week. If you get below full marks, I'm sorry but you have no rights over Daisy and you won't be able to adopt her. I'm sorry. We had given the answer sheet to Delilah to give to you. I'm suspecting she has gave it to you and you've done your homework."
I gasped. Daisy! That bitch!
"Good luck. You can now start." She sounded like one of those teachers who told you to start an important test.
I went speechless. I looked down at the questions and remembered some from the other sheet.
'When is Delilah's birthday?' That was easy. She had the same birthday as me. I wrote down 8th March, 2001.
'What is Delilah allergic to?' It took me a while to remember but I finally did. 'Daffodils, bleach and tomatoes.'
Then it came to the most Important ones I didn't know. It said;
'Delilah Smith has a problem with bullying. She can't control what she does some of the time.
What does she do to resolve this problem?'
I felt so bad. I didn't know. I read down even more and I was relived that there was a choice.
'Ignore them and carry on with what she was doing.
Flip out and has a massive fight.
Or tells someone straight away.'
Well, Daisy didn't seem like the girl who ignored people so that must of been defiantly wrong. I could imagine Daisy flipping out and having the biggest fight ever. It just suited her style........
Daisy was sensible most of the time. But I had to decide with one. I circled 'Flip out and have a massive fight.' It must've been right!
That was the end and I handed the woman the sheet. I was pretty proud of myself. I leaned back, relaxing and smirked to myself while the Woman marked the sheets.
_______
James' POV
I was so glad Daisy was back and safe. She wasn't going ever again. When that man was going to go, Daisy and I were going to go to the police. No matter what. I just hoped he hadn't beaten her again. I started to ask her questions about last night.
"Did he hurt you?" She shook her head. I was surprised.
"Was he selfish towards you?" She looked directly into my eyes and shook her head a little bit. That obviously meant something.
"Daisy." I sighed. She looked back up.
"He was a bit but that doesn't matter. We had a good night. He didn't hurt me at all..well apart from the stones under the bed but that doesn't matter. The point I-"
"Wait..Stones under the bed?" I smirked.
She nodded her head. "But the point is. He was kind." If she was happy I was happy. I smiled and hugged her again. I felt sorry for her. She didn't need to go through all this.
______
Joseph's POV
The woman looked up at me and took her glasses off. My heart started pounding and my breathing got faster. I hope I had them all right. Getting ONE question wrong and not winning Daisy was strict.
She smiled and opened her mouth.
Come on! Please! I had to!
"Well, Joe." She grinned and smirked, like she knew my secret between Daisy and I.
"Your score is..."
____________

The Head That Wears The Crown
It's a tale as old as time. Boy goes to funeral. Boy gets sucked into a different world. Boy has to lead a settlement. Boy has to lead a settlement? Boy has to lead a settlement. This is a story about that settlement, and some other stuff. Maybe. Disclaimer: Not sure if it qualifies enough for a gore tag. There is a description of someone's death somewhere in this, but I don't think it is descriptive enough to justify a gore tag. Disclaimer part deux: I initially started writing this as background for another story but got so into it I just ended fleshing it out a bit. Disclaimer part tres: People love reading disclaimers don't they? It's why I've included so many. They're just for you. Disclaimer part four: I know, this is getting egregious. You're starting to find it less funny. Just wait till the twentieth disclaimer, it will start being funny again. Disclaimer part five: I'm kidding, this is the last one. I don't promise I'll read every comment or message, but I certainly welcome your feedback. Disclaimer part six: I lied, it wasn't the last one. I wrote this story without breaking it down into chapters. It just goes, that means that the chapter ends when it ends, not when there is a convenient break in the story. That means that it's very annoying for you as a reader since chapters can end mid sentence. Hah! Sucker! Disclaimer part seven: Get ready for slow updates. Who knows when this will continue. Toss it on read later and come back in fifty years. Disclaimer part eight: Cover Photo by Arthur Ogleznev on Unsplash
