《Kidnapped (Book 1)》The Second Kill

After talking with Kelly, he figured she would go back to sleep. He knew the chloroform had some side effects that were never good. His adrenaline was rushing every time he saw Kelly, he had been waiting for this moment for a while now. His plan was coming along great, except he wasn't planning on taking Maddie and Ethan at Kelly's house. He didn't let that stop him, but now he was out of rooms.
The man had a hard decision to make. Who to kill next? He wanted to keep these police officers on their feet and to keep them so busy that he could kidnap again if he needed to. He needed to make more room as well. The man decided to think about who he wanted to kill before he actually did it. In order to keep the police running around looking like their heads were cut off, he decided to kidnap someone else.
He tried to think of who else had help put his friend away in jail. Did he want to keep taking kids or the person themselves? Then a person came to mind. The man had done research on all persons involved in the case one way or another and everything about their families for his plan. He thought of the stupid lawyer who was the prosecutor against the man's friend, he was the perfect person. Now did he want to take her daughter or him? He couldn't decide so he was going to flip a coin for it. He grabbed a quarter out of his pocket.
"Heads for the daughter, tails for the father." He said.
He flipped the coin and let it land on the floor. He grinned as he saw the head side up. He was secretly hoping to take her daughter. It was more torture as a parent to have their child taken. The man always thought how coincidental it was that all these people had daughters for him to take. Though, the man did love taking girls, if he needed to he would abduct boys as well, Ethan was a perfect example. The man would do whatever was needed, even if kidnapping boys wasn't nearly as fun as girls.
The lawyer's daughter's name was Christina Perry. She was a beautiful girl of age ten. She looked just like her mother with her long red hair and had her dad's hazel eyes. He hated her father with a passion. He had watched his friend's trial and he never was quiet.
"Oh he had raped ten girls, murdered fifteen and kidnapped at least twenty and I have proof of it all." The man mocked inside his head.
He disgusted the man. The man went to check on Maddie. He hadn't checked on her since he kidnapped her and she should be awake by now. He went to her room and unlocked the door. He walked in and she was lying on her bed crying. She had stopped crying though when he walked in. She wiped the tears from her eyes as he sat on her bed. Tears were the man's favorite thing to witness, it showed weakness, which overall meant power.

"Hey, Maddie. How are doing?" He asked compassionately, he didn't care as much about her but since he did kidnap her, he wanted to get invested.
She was still laying but scooted over and turned the other way, facing the wall. The man laid next to her because she had left empty room for him to lie down. She basically set herself up for that. He was now touching her body with his warm body. Her body was tense and she wasn't talking to him. He could feel her body trembling next to his. He wasn't sure if it was because of the coldness of the room or if she was truly terrified. He wrapped his arms around her and got close to her ear, so close that his lips were basically touching her ear and whispered, "It's not nice to ignore people when they talk to you."
He thought he heard her cry again. In response, he rubbed her back and told her that he wouldn't hurt her. She probably didn't believe the man, but he didn't really care. The man got up, kissed her on the cheek and left the room. He had better things to do, like planning on how he was going to take his next victim and who he was going to kill.
He went out into the living room where Ethan was tied up and placed on the couch. He didn't have a room for him, but didn't feel the need to lock him in a room. He wasn't special enough to get a specific room. Blood was trickling down his head from where the man had hit him during the kidnapping. He was awake and said nothing which was good. The man didn't want to waste any more duct tape on him. He turned on his TV looking at each girl to see who to kill next.
"Ethan, who do you think I should kill next?" The man asked. He didn't expect an answer but the boy spoke.
"No one." He said, glaring at the man. The man wanted to laugh but just smiled.
"Oh boy, you are so innocent. It's going to happen whether you like it or not. Just be thankful it's not you I want to kill yet." The man said, staring at the screen.
"I think it's Courtney's turn." He said without any hesitation. He got his gun and loaded it. He shoved it in his back pocket and went to her room, leaving Ethan shouting at him to leave her alone. She was scared as usual and was sitting on her bed, avoiding all eye contact. As usual, the man joined her on the small bed.
"Hello, Courtney. I have a secret to tell you." The man said. He couldn't help but smile.
"What?" She whispered.
He got close to her ear and whispered, "I'm going to kill you." She pulled away from him in fear. She started to cry.

"Please don't. I'll do anything, please." She begged.
He stared at her with his brown eyes, freaking her out even more. He tucked her long brown hair behind her ears and watched as her face got wetter with tears. He got closer to her and said, "Kiss me." She looked at him with confusion at first and hesitated before leaning over and kissing him on the cheek, trying to find a loophole in his demand. He had to admit, he was impressed by her quick thinking.
"Always trying to find an easier way, aren't you. I meant on the lips, Sweetie."
She was crying even harder as she kissed him on the lips. It was short and quick but very amusing to him. He started laughing and she looked confused. The man had his mind set from the minute he walked in the room, there was nothing she could do to stop him from killing her. It was just hilarious to him that she was desperate to live and would do anything he said.
"I'm still going to kill you. There is nothing you can do to change my mind." The man said, smirking. She was shaking and she grabbed his hand, giving it a tight squeeze.
"Please, don't." She cried, tears pouring down her cheeks.
He had drawn this out long enough. He yanked his hand away from hers and pulled out his gun. She stared wide eyed at it. Then he aimed the gun at her head. She was now bawling and tears ran down her face as he pulled the trigger. He hit her right between the eyes on her forehead, just like he had when he killed Faith. He picked up her body and carried it out to the living room and placed it in a black trash bag. Ethan stared at the body in fear, his big brown eyes widening. The man went back and cleaned up the blood from the room. Then he had to write a letter. He sat at his desk to write another letter for Courtney's mom.
"Dear Colorado Police," He started writing.
"This is Courtney Finder, the daughter of Gabrielle Finder, the famous judge. Are you making and connections yet? A police officer's daughter and now a judge's daughter. Think what are the connections? This is my payback again. I hope you all love my letter because it's probably the only clues you have on me. Courtney was a sweet girl and was a great kisser. You could thank her mother for that I guess. Anyways, Gabrielle, I hope you are happy you have your daughter back now. Anyone else want their daughters back?" He finished his letter and put the note in his pocket.
He had special plans for her body. The man placed Ethan in Courtney's old room and locked the door, this was only temporary. The man took the body outside, not wanting to make a mess in the cabin. He dumped the body out of the black trash bag and went back inside to get his supplies. He slipped on a pair of gloves and grabbed a highly concentrated oxygen bleach, which he had read in an article that would destroy any DNA left on a body. Due to the chemicals involved and the liquid itself, it would wash and destroy any of his DNA from when he kissed her. He had to make sure there wasn't any possible way for the police to find him.
The man started to drench the bleach onto the girl's body, making sure to dump half of it in her mouth, killing any of his saliva that could be present. The strong smell of bleach burned the man's nostrils but he knew this is what had to be done. Since the man was giving more clues and committing more crimes, he had to be extra careful. It would be at least an hour or so before he could ditch the body, which would give plenty of time for the bleach to do its work.
The man wrapped the girl back in the bag, and carried her back to his car. He hated the far walk to his car but if he wanted to stay hidden, it was a sacrifice he had to make. He got to his car, threw the body in the trunk and got in his car. Before he started the car, he had to think about where to put her. The police station? No, too risky. At the mothers house, right in front of her house? Perfect. He turned on the car and pulled out of the woods and onto the road. He drove until he reached Mrs. Filler's house. It was almost dark out, yet no one was home.
He parked across the street. He made sure his gloves were on tightly, he didn't need them falling off. He opened the trunk and pulled the bag out with the body in it. He walked to the porch and set the bag right in front of the door. He made sure to set the note inside the bag on top of the body so it wouldn't get wet or lost. The police would surely find it. He hadn't bothered to check for cameras. He didn't care if the police saw his perfect disguise. He actually wanted them to see it. Maybe give the idiots a clue. After his work was done, he drove back to the cabin and walked once again back to his cabin. He wanted to see Kelly again, hoping she was feeling better, he knew it would always make him feel better to see her beautiful face.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

Upon investigating, he is injected with a control crystal for a 'Construction Core', but when it releases an extremely high density of pressurized mana, his body seizes up and the Core draws his mind into it before merging the control crystal back into the Core and retreating into the Cube and digging itself deeper.
