Eh?
The first thing I remembered early in the morning is the most painful dream I've ever had. Mysterious as it seem, I kept on having flashes of my seemingly past life.
But this time, it's a different one
I looked around the room I am in, seeing a cradle, toys, and a maid cleaning the cabinets. The room is all white and somewhat... gold and silver.
Wait, what..?
Looking at my hands, I saw two tiny hands while I lay down the floor. A smooth shiny floor.
"Oh dear," the maid looked at me with a troubled look as she approached me. "Is his highness hurt?"
She then lifted me into her arms with ease as if I was a baby. Wait, how did she do that?

"His highness is brave at his age," I looked up at the maid and saw her smiling at me. "Someday, you will be a tall tough prince. No matter how hard you fall, you will surely rise."
Prince..
As far as I remember, I belong in the modern day. What prince and his highness is she talking about? The maid walked towards the cradle and laid me in, before giving me a rattle. "Stay here and play with this for a while, your highness."
"Owah," This rattle is different, it has gold lining and silver orbs inside it. I felt like my eyes twinkled at the thing I am holding.
The maid chuckled as she cooed at me. "Do you like it, your highness?"
Unexpectedly, I played with the rattle no matter how confused I am to what on Earth is happening to me, giggling as the maid smiled widely at me.
There are other maids coming to the room, or my room. Cleaning, playing with me for a bit, giving me milk and changing my diapers.
This must be a life of a prince. But the way the other maids look at me, it was as if they are disgusted at me.
Huffing out a sigh, I held my rattle tight as I watched them do whatever they need to do in the room. But then I remembered something again.
Why am I a baby?
To what I recall, I had an overtime to my part time job and I went home very late. But then, while crossing the street with some other people, a truck appeared and the driver didn't seem to step into the brakes.
Thus, my death came forth like a raindrop.
Is it possible to be able to live in that past life of mine that I can clearly recall? Well, it happened to me now so it is a yes.

This sorcery happened, and now I am reborn as a prince, with maids staring at me weirdly. I know I'm a cute little baby boy and soon enough, I'll be able to walk on my own and escape.
Now you ask why I should escape even if my life will make anyone envious?
Because as I said, I clearly know what will happen to this little boy in this world. Neglected not by his mother, but also the whole continent. Only that maid who smiled at me lately, named Jamie William, accepted me as who I am.
My life would be boring and soon enough, if that mother of mine here gets bored of me too, she'll kill me and I'll die. That is going to be a disaster, just like the nightmare I had today.
Dying is out of my bucket list everyday, especially the way I was executed, it was terrible.
But what's more terrible is what that mother of mine here in this world described me. A spitting image of a demon. Isn't she the demon herself?
"What should we do?" The maids who are having a chit-chat made me go back to reality. "The prince seems to be.. a little weird today."
Watch your word. To call a prince weird.
"He doesn't seem to cry often as he used to." Another maid commented with a shrug. "But I guess it's only because he's growing up."
I'd like to agree with you for now.
"What should we do now?" The other maid asked. "Shall we leave? He won't fall down the cradle anyways."
The other maid shooked his head. "We should stay. Looking out for the prince is the easiest task to do."
And with that, the maids decided to stay in my room, which made me uncomfortable to the point that I can't think of my thoughts properly.
Ah, great..

The Other World
Every living being becomes a Traveler while sleeping. This means that part of what is called “consciousness” detaches from the rest, carrying us towards worlds located in parts still unknown of the universe. Most of these places have things that inhabit only our dreams. Worlds were physics is not the same one we know. Where magic exists and mythological creatures walk amongst the people. Most of the Travelers become mere spectators in this world, unable to influence it. With some luck, they can go back to their bodies and wake up with the memory of a pleasant dream. Others do not have the same luck and end up stuck in the limbo, unable to return home. There is one other category of Travelers. These are the ones strong enough to create bodies and separate themselves from the life they had before. These Travelers start a new life without ever thinking about returning to the place they once called “home”. This story is about the last kind of Travelers and their trials in a world filled with spells, magical creatures and monsters. **

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.
