He lived with the same stinking feeling of being unwanted, being judged, being hated, quite frankly he felt like he deserved it all. The air was calm, the sun up as it always was in LA, he sat on the bench in Medford park and no, he wasn't a psycho who'd watch women's boobs jiggle as they went for a morning run again he wasn't there because he had a dog that liked the park, he never did like dogs to begin with.

"Hi,"a brunette waved at him shyly running past him in those new Amazon leggings that really accentuated women's butt. I suppose it was strange for women to see a man they would only seen in magazines calmly seated on a bench in an ordinary park doing nothing.

Except he wasn't just doing nothing. Chloe took her morning runs around that park and every day since they got out of jail, he would get up early, sit on the same bench waiting for her and getting to see her run even from a distance. An hour of waiting and there she was. Like a mama goddess pushing around a stroller, taking steady breaths and listening to music through the earphones she had in her ears.

She still looked the same, only difference was that while he was away rotting in jail, Chloe had moved on. She had married some accountant called Jake Callaway, had a daughter and they were on their way to having another kid. He couldn't blame her, could he? She deserved better. She deserved a better man, a man who was honest, respectful and most of all hadn't taken away her sister from her, a man who wasn't a... murderer.

'I hate you, Kevin Cervantes and I will never forgive you for what you did. I needed her, my family needed her! You didn't care, you didn't even try to check whether she was alive or rush her to a nearby hospital! No, it was all about saving yourself, saving your family name. No! Do not tell me you are sorry! Do not freaking tell me you are sorry! You'll rot in jail, I'll make sure of it! You'll pay. You murderer!'

That was pretty much the last conversation they had. The last time they saw each other was in court, when she smiled for the first time upon hearing the judge's verdict. That he was guilty! As punishment for tainting the Cervantes' name, no one visited him in jail. Instead he spent a rough three years in the slammer before his parents finally decided to get him out of there.

Though that didn't help, getting him out of there didn't do anything what it did however was make him feel shitty than he felt before. No friends, no family and especially no girlfriend or fiance.

" I knew you would be here,"someone spoke and he raised his head feeling the wet liquid on his cheek.

It was a first, he never cried even when he got humiliated in jail by his cellmates, he never cried even when his parents told him they were disappointed in him, he never cried even when his own brother told him that he didn't want him as a brother, that he was ashamed of him. Yet reminiscing everything that had happened to him, brought a tear in his eye.

"Hey,"Kevin replied wiping the tear off his cheek so fast.

"Are you stalking me now?" He asked watching Liz put on a sly smile pulling her purse to the side and seating down next to him.

"Well it's a free park, Tequila," she joked and Kevin's mood changed.

Tequila. That's what Chloe called him. Chloe only. He didn't like it when it came out of Liz's mouth.

Infact he didn't like it that a woman he'd least expected would be there for him. Visiting him in prison even when he told her not to a couple of times, and when he got out, Elizabeth Tombs had been acting like his Mother Theresa calling him unnecessarily, ordering him Chinese food, taking care of him when he was sick or when he was drunk.

"What are you doing here, Liz?"

Kevin groaned looking far ahead.

"Same as you. I came to spy on my best friend"

"Right..."

"You know she's pregnant again. Her moods are a little better now, why don't you try talking to her?"

Again it was Liz to the rescue, trying to act like Cupid. Liz was a big fan of his relationship with Chloe and after Chloe broke it off with him, he didn't understand why Liz was still sticking around him.

"And tell her what? I'm innocent?"

"Yes!" She punched his arm lightly.

"Incase you haven't noticed, Liz. I was charged for her sister's murder, I'm guilty God damn it! And I'm sick and tired of you hovering around me everytime trying to make me feel good about myself. Newsflash! I'm not good! And I don't freaking need you trying to fix me!"

And I stood up straightening my coat and leaving the park way before she would stand up and follow me. She had that tendency to be there everytime he wanted to be alone. Simply, she was like this annoying chatty parrot he wanted to throw out.

"Where to, Sir?" Albert, his chauffeur asked and with a bored look, he said,

"Home, Albert. Home"

On a regular Tuesday, he was supposed to be at work but who the hell would notice he was there or not? Roman didn't care, his grandfather, Niccolo certainly had a lot of things on his plate to notice his absence and with an annoying Liz out of the way, he had sometime to relax, probably catch some sleep and wait for the days to go by until Saturday. The one day he got to interact with his nephew. More like his only family at this point.

Minutes later he was home, thanking Albert for the ride and going into the house.

As he entered his living room, he caught a whiff of the lingering smell of female perfume. Had Liz really followed him again?

Throwing the keys on one of his leather brown couches, he looked around, his eyes locking with someone he'd least expect.

"Kev,"she started ever so softly.

"To what do I owe the honor, Kim?What? Did dad force you to come keep me company?"

"Kev I-i'm here because I wanted to. No one forced me to. I-I'm sorry that I shut you out. I'm sorry for everything. B-but I need your help or else I'll go crazy"

Kimberly Cervantes never stuttered and the fact that her face told the tale of someone who had been left in the Sahara all by herself made Kevin curious.

"What is it? What is it this time?"

"I-I I'm gonna sound crazy but I saw her. I saw Mikaella"

"What?"

"I saw Mikaella"

She repeated and Kevin laughed cynically.

"You saw Mikaella? Kimberly after all these years, years of detesting me, years of not wanting to talk to me, you come to me with this? Have you told your brother?"

"Kev, I'm serious! I-I couldn't tell him because he's seeing someone at the moment and I-I wasn't even sure"

"Leave!" Kevin growled.

"B-but if you look at the guest list, maybe you'll be able to help me. I've ran over the list again and again and still nothing. I'm not crazy, you have to believe me. I saw her. She was there"

"I have to believe you? Where were you when I needed you to believe me? When I needed my sister to tell me I wasn't a murderer. When I needed her to hug me and assure me it was just an accident? Right, you were never there. Years of criticism and you come to me with this? Why don't you tell Roman? He's the one who'll be excited from all this, maybe then he'll stop saying I killed his wife too!"

And that sure did it, with tears welling up in her eyes, she wasted no time in placing the clipboard on one of the arms of his couch leaving the house in a hurry. It didn't matter to him though.

He had lost his sister long time ago. Pouring himself a shot of vodka, he sat down on the couch. What if Kimberly was right in her own crazy way? What if she really saw Mikaella?

With a bit of hesitation, he looked over the Gabeyo's guest list. A list of everyone invited to one of Kimberly's charity events.

His finger stopped next to the name

Ruby Grayson

And he sure knew as hell that was no coincidence.
