《A beautiful mistake》35

***** Marcus Pierce*****
He was at the diner again, ordering what had brought them together in the first place. Sipping his cold beer, he reminisced how a certain brunette had lectured him out of the blue as to why junk foods weren't good for his health.
'something as slimy as a greasy burger. Do you know how much grease is in that thing?' The girl with the curly hair and wide rimmed glasses had appeared infront of him and asked such an annoying question.
The seventeen year old boy in him had challenged the girl by asking,'Naah why don't you enlighten me, short stuff'
Shorty. That nickname always suited her best. It was so funny when she was mad plus adding to her short height, the whole scenario was quite amusing. After huffing the air she had held for so long, she sighed,
"All am saying is that if you wanna live long enough to see Bil Clinton retire as president, eating burgers from this place is a step in the wrong direction"
"You don't say?" He had chuckled taking a mouthful of the burger in his mouth,"you mean this burger?" he mocked then dropped his voice to an octave low,"remind me who you are again? Cause last time I checked you are not even my mother nor my friend so whatever 'saving lives and the environment ' thing you got going on, leave me out of it"
And just from that simple encounter, Marcus Pierce and Ruby Grayson became archenemies. The same archenemies that confessed their love for each other at prom. Simply, they were match. Marcus right from the moment he set eyes on his shorty, he knew that he was complete. That he had everything he needed in his life.
When Ruby broke the news to him about her pregnancy, he couldn't be more proud. He was going to be a dad, something he hadn't seen coming. Would it be a girl or a boy? Would the girl have the same blue eyes like Ruby's or would she inherit his? And if it was a boy, would he have his looks? His jet black hair or his mother's flawless silky brown hair?

One simple mistake. One simple mistake of letting her go to the clinic to have an ultrasound had messed up his life. It had jeorpadized everything he worked so hard for.
"Marcus! Marcus, it's Ruby! She had an accident. Marc, she...she's dying"
And before he could say goodbye, her eyes had already fluttered shut with the doctor telling him the bitter truth about the death of both the mother and his son. Yes, he was going to have a son.
Like a madman he had sought to enact his revenge on the drunk guy, Luis Miguel, for running his wife's car from the road to the pole of a nearby diner. Sure justice had prevailed but was Luis responsible? Or had he been hired to seat behind the wheel and pretend to be stone drunk?
Only after joining the task force did the truth become as clear as day to him. The culprit was running free without a care in the world what he had done years back. The drunk bastard had killed his wife. Had murdered the child he never got to see, no amount of years in the slammer would change that. He was willing to take matters in his own hands.
Standing up from the couch in his living room, he stood against the wall across the window slowly pulling down the cover. On the wall were pictures of everyone related to his wife's murderer.
At the further end was Mikaella Sandoval Cervantes. The woman he had easily charmed within a day. Sure she seemed innocent but that didn't matter, he used her and was still trying to use her to gain information about the Cervantes family. He hadn't yet discovered what sort of pain he would inflict on her but soon enough the truth would be out anyway and that would be his moment to enact his plan.

From Mikaella, the red tape led to Chloe Grayson. Ah! Clueless Chloe Grayson. The sister in law that never approved his relationship with Ruby. It was ironical actually, he recalled Chloe's bitter words at the beginning of his relationship with Ruby.
'Ruby am your sister and I know am always wrong at stuff but please don't do this. Marcus isn't the man for you. He's the guy that breaks hearts. The guy that cheerleaders route for and get. Don't do this. Him and you, it's a mistake, siz'
And now here she was about to commit the biggest mistake by marrying a man involved in her sister's murder. He chuckled maniacally remembering how the LA front page newspaper read,
Another Cervantes' heir tamed?
And in the picture was his sister in law flaunting her diamond ring for all to see.
Next on the list was Seth Sandoval Cervantes, Mikaella's kid, he hadn't yet thought of how to hurt the kid so he moved on to the next people on the list. Debra and Jacob Cervantes, the world's greatest parents, not!
They also deserved to be punished, because of them. Because of not raising their sons well enough and spoiling them with wealth, their sons had ended up messing his life, making him resort to sinister things just to pass justice for his loved ones.
The middle part of the wall, was a picture of the Cervantes brother. Both pictures circled with a red marker and holes in it...
Of the two brothers, one had ran his wife's car off the road and the other had gone to a huge extent of bribing cops just to cover the truth up.
Either way it didn't matter, both brothers were to blame. Both brothers were murderers in his eyes and pretty soon he was going to wreck their lives. Take away everything they love from them just like they did to him.
Revenge at this moment never tasted sweeter.
