"You are just...mmh...a donkey butt!" she spat as Chanel rolled her eyes and chuckled a bit.
"Donkey butt? That's what you can come up with? Girl, if your marriage ain't working, it ain't working. No need to deny it" her smile made Mikaella want to scratch her face with her sharp fingernails.
Coming here to confront Chanel wasn't working for Mikaella especially when she was bad at trash talking. Chanel seemed flawless at everything she did, trash talking included. Mikaella stood there like a fool infront of the workers of Channel 5 news. Some giggled, some whispered and Chanel gave her an evil glare signalling to her that 'she had better stayed home'.
Embarrassed and lacking words, Mikaella stormed out of there running to the cab that popped at the right moment and at the right time.
"Just drive" her eyes bulged with fury as she told the cab driver.
"I should have called her a dirty bitch or a baffoon" she slammed her forehead talking to herself.
The trees and the cars beside her window seemed to move in an excruciating speed and that's when she realised she was too far from her destination which was Hilton hotel. The cab driver's face was hidden from her in that he wore a blue baseball cap on top of his head.
"You can stop the car now" she patted his shoulder. Her other hand removing a bundle of notes to pay him up. He didn't budge but went on driving ignoring her words. Mikaella didn't want to jump into conclusions. The man wasn't a kidnapper. He might have been deaf, her brain reasoned.
"Sir. You can drop me off here" she pleaded her voice rising nervously.
He turned looking at Mikaella from the back seat. Mikaella's eyes almost popped out, her lips formed a harsh thin line and her brows tightened. It couldn't be.

"Mick I can't just drop you in the middle of nowhere. Now can I?" He asked then went back to driving.
"Stop this car or I'll jump out!" she screamed trying to open the car doors that were closed shut.
"I know you won't. You are crazy but I know you won't do such a thing as that" he said softly.
Mikaella had no time to lose, reaching for her phone inside her purse she secretly messaged a quick SOS to her husband. Remaining quiet, she sighed after her futile attempt in opening the door.
"Aren't you happy to see me? I'm back baby, just for you" he exclaimed pulling up in a sloppy driveway next to a rugged abandoned home.
"How can I be, Owen? Should I give you a kiss or jump in your arms like the idiotic woman I was before?" She huffed whipping up the emotions she thought were buried ages ago.
He got out of the car closing the door shut, he then opened the door for Mick pulling her from the car seat by her arm. Immediately her heels touched the potholed floor she made way to his face slapping him. When he smoothed his jaw, she hit him again and again calling him a good for nothing man, a shallow excuse for a human being and a cheat!
What ached her more was the fact that he didn't retaliate. He didn't fight back and she wanted him to. The fact that she loved a man such as Owen Williams made her feel worthless as a woman. This man never loved her, he was ought to break her heart for sure. She cried, she cried as memories of how humiliating it was for her that day. That day when he decided not to show up to their wedding, that day that led to her colliding with Roman Cervantes.

Releasing what she had held back for so long, she sobbed on his shirt and he...he hugged her just like before so sweet so loving. Collecting herself together and straightening her knee length white dress she pulled away from him. She wiped her cheeks dry and he was quick to pull a clean handkerchief for her but she dismissed it.
"Why didn't you show? Why did you leave me hanging at the altar, Owen? I thought you loved me. I loved you for God's sake!"
"I have my reasons. One of them being your father and the other being your husband" he said equally ashamed. His hands buried deep in the pockets of his Levis. Mikaella took a few steps backwards leaning against the parked car.
"Shame on you for making excuses. Did they cripple you? Did they tie your legs together? Huh? Don't bring my family into this. You didn't want to get married to me just say that instead of coming up with excuses" she lifted her knotted fist wanting so hard to bump it into his chest.
"That's the truth believe it or not. Roman Cervantes wanted me dead. That very day he was going to show up at our wedding and kill me. And your father...he threatened me too" he said then continued," I didn't show because if I did, you would be dragged up into whatever squabble I have with Roman. Now he has succeeded; he has you and that's what he wanted. To take away the love of my life from me" he finished in a heavy sorrowful tone.
What he said came suddenly and unexpectedly as lightning striking from a clear blue sky.
"That's not true" she coughed clutching her chest. Her heart had just had enough. She didn't know what felt worse knowing that Owen didn't mean to ditch her or knowing that her husband was the one behind her heartbreak years ago. She started to put two and two together. Come to think of it, Roman wasn't invited to her wedding at all. That night he mentioned he was a guest but she didn't see his name on the guest list. Everything, everything he said, was he ... pretending?
Did he sleep with her on purpose just to get revenge on Owen. She couldn't take all the unanswered questions, the seething pain that her heart felt and the anger bottling deep inside her.
She needed answers that only Roman Cervantes could give her.
