《A beautiful mistake》13

Why was she standing at the door goofily waiting for him to arrive? Why was her heart leaping with joy rather than feel mad about him disclosing her location to her parents?
Truth is, she was glad. She really missed her mom, Gus and her dad who promised to live in LA for the moment to make up for lost time. She took a peak through the window to see his car pulling up slowly in the driveway. Her heart skipped, clueless and not knowing how and what to say. She ran stupidly to the kitchen pretending to chop down some veggies.
His voice boomed the house as he called Marga to take his briefcase to the study room. She on the other hand fixed her hair even smelled it to make sure she'd used the correct shampoo. Hardly had he taken a step into the living room than she came in. She had mastered all the words to say...
Roman we have never seen eye to eye since our marriage but today I want to thank you for bringing my family to me. Thank you for helping them find me. Thanks for saving my dad's business
She really thought she could do it but once his deep eyes met hers she lacked words.
"I...um...w-want to" and instead of continuing, she thought it better to show him instead, her appreciation.
She hugged him, her arms around his neck her face calmly lying on his shoulder. She could sense hesitation from him but all that changed when his large hands caught her slim waist pulling her close to his body.
She whispered, "Thank you, Roman"
And she felt all his muscles tense as a tear fell from her eye.
It had been long since a man did something as beautiful as this. She didn't want to jump into conclusion, she didn't want to think about the feelings that were spiking in her body.

Clearing her throat and parting from him, she turned wanting to walk away but he caught her right hand and asked.
"Will you have dinner with me?"
"I'm sorry but I already had dinner" Back to the civil conversations they would have.
"Then you can watch me eat" he smiled.
A genuine smile from him. He? She really wondered what had happened the previous night. What changed with him?
"Before I forget Roxanne said that she would take care of Seth for the next two weeks" he said over dinner.
Roxanne, they were really close now? Since when did her mom become buddy buddy with her husband?
"I had a pretty bad day. I got to the office late, grandpa suddenly showed up and yelled at me for firing some of the workers at the factory. Not to mention I got elbowed on the neck trying to break up a fight in the boardroom" he concluded taking a bite of his meal.
She didn't know what to say. She didn't know why he was telling her all this. But she nodded trying to act like how a wife should.
"You don't remember what happened the previous night, do you?" He chuckled.
"No" she shyly admitted.
"Well you kissed me then slapped me because you said I wasn't acting like how a husband should. You made rules"
"What rules?"
"One; that we would have dinner everyday talk about how our day went." He paused and she now got why he insisted on her joining him for dinner.
"Go on"
"Every Tuesdays I had to visit you at work, I would court you and win your heart over and finally I would take you out and treat you like the classy woman you are. You were pretty precise on the classy part"

She didn't know whether he was lying but she knew how wild she got when she was drunk. Quite frankly she couldn't Remy whether she was drunk or something else happened. The part about courting her, got her and she tried hiding away the blush that would sell her away.

I know you are busy but can you add me to your to do list
~Hubby
That was so cheezy but she smiled distracted from her work that was pending at the moment.
"Mick I was even thinking of going mega. It's a royal wedding after all and how about the main hall, it would be perfect and the garden. How about the garden? Mick? Mick? Earth to Mick, are you listening to me?" Raque snapped her fingers.
"Yeah it sounds great"
"I understand that you and your hunk of a husband are relighting a flame but the wedding reception is not just gonna prepare itself. And would you please get the flowers off your table! Not everyone has someone to order flowers for them" Raque snapped.
Well geez! Talk about waking up on the wrong side of the bed! She followed Raque as they went to supervise what was going on in the main hall. After tending to the type of flowers to use as decorations since roses wouldn't do, as apparently the bride was allergic to them, they had to order lilies. And the paint, Farhan was quite precise with what he wanted for his wedding.
The painters had to repaint the walls crimson yellow as plain white wouldn't do. Talk about a hectic day but even as she drove back home, she was relieved, she couldn't wait to tell him how her day went. She couldn't wait to talk to Seth via Skype at his grandma's.
"I'll take that" Marga said as Mick rushed upstairs to take a bath and prepare for dinner.
She slightly opened the door not noticing the lights that were on. Turning her head, she saw him in nothing but a towel. For a moment there she lacked words, was it the abs? The wet hair? Or the abdominal V lines that had her gawking, sweating and her right eye twitching.
He too seemed nervous, and it didn't get any better when his towel slid from his waist and fell to the ground making Mick look at him.
