《A beautiful mistake》10

Two weeks gone and she felt better. These two weeks came with progress to her, although she couldn't quite pin it how he he'd managed to let her go back to work so easily after blaming her of intentionally becoming malnourished to seek attention.
An ounce of guilt perhaps, she reasoned.Raquel's questions were enough to make her head pop. She knew how yarpy Raquel was. It reminded her of how at one time her best friend was head over heels in love with a local bartender and every night she would haunt her with old hippie folk music.
"Are you sure he's not just acting? The guy is hot Mick but not dumb enough to not note that you are one fine hot specimen"
"He's not acting and second of all gross to the last statement. The guy is practically a freaking villain in every woman's dream"
"Well sister, at least you're set for life. Life is good, hot hubby cute son ooh and money the one thing that people lack"
"Would you just get back to work"
Mick slapped her arm as Raquel's heels dimly faded out of her office. Carina had caught her up with everything that went down in her absence. Her return was brief though there were some rumors here and there on why she went to work yet she had married one of the richest men in LA but she didn't retaliate.
People talk when they've got no fun in their lives so she didn't mind.
"Farhan I assure you we are gonna take care of that earliest before noon"
Getting from the phone she called Phil who for some reason hadn't turned up to work since her return. Phil was no mere employee to her, she knew his feelings for her clearly. Phil actually was a straight forward guy; over taco Tuesday he went on to confess his feelings for her and although Mick said she needed time he still remained friends with her with no hard feelings whatsoever. Name any guy that would totally remain friends with you after that.

"Are you at the hotel right now? I need you to look into Farhan's room something having to do with a leak in the bathtub"
"Good morning to you too, Mick. How's the going?"
"Sorry Phil. I'm juggling work at the moment but the going's been tough as usual."
"Tough huh? Tough enough to forget your closest pals. No hard feelings so what's up with Farhan's bathroom problem, again?"
Phil promising to get over Farhan's issue offered her lunch to catch up with her like old times. Lunch break at last, the one time that she had all the time to think about everything only this time Phil was taking her out for lunch.
Neatly placing the papers on her desk she left her office pushing the elevator buttons. Her phone rung as she tried to fish it out from her purse. An unknown number popped up on the screen and she answered not expecting that Marga would be on the end of the line.
"Ma'am can you hear me?"
"Not clearly but why are you whispering?"
"Ma'am sir doesn't want you to know this but it's about Seth he's sick feverish infact...he keeps calling your name over and over. I have to go, Sir is coming"
Marga hung up. She on the other hand had no minute to waste, quickly rushing from the building and taking a cab she rushed home or as she likes to call it 'Roman's mansion'.
"Would you please step on it? I'll pay you double" She stated worriedly as the weird mexican driver put on a wide grin as if wanting to ask why she didn't say so in the beginning.
Minutes later she was back home, throwing the driver a bunch of notes she literally ran past the gates last the living room to Seth's room. She couldn't believe it when she saw Seth lying in bed with a thermometer in his mouth as his dad shook some sort of medication bottle. Marga stood there frightfully creepy as usual. She went over to Seth examining his temperature with the back of her palm.

"Mommy, my throat is sore" Seth said and Mick raised one of her eyebrows. Something was fishy. Sore? That's new word play. She recalled everytime Seth had a cold or a raspy throat as in this fake case he would use words like something is stuck in his throat or boo boo in his nose.
She read the thermometer and she almost held in a laugh there was no way a normal person's temperature would be that impeccably high and he survive.
"He's burning up I need to take him to a hospital perhaps he needs a shot. Seth you'll get better after getting two shots from Dr. Henry"
This got him everytime and if he was faking it it would only take a few seconds till;
"No mommy, daddy made me do it see I'm not sick I can jump and play!" Seth said springing from bed excitedly, clapping his hands.
She was frustrated, she looked at the man still having the audacity to shake the medication bottle even after Seth confessed. And Marga little'O Marga no doubt she had a part to play in all this.
"We need to talk"
She said getting away from Seth's room. He calmly followed her behind.
"Sure what about?"
"What about? What about? You orchestrated all this and you involve our son. Aren't you the least bit ashamed? Why have me go back to work if all you want is for me to come back here and be a prisoner again?"
"Now before you go jumping in the wrong way. You are the one who should be ashamed. If I hadn't pulled out this little prank, you would totally be cheating on me with that plumber"
She had just had enough of him.
"His name is Phil. And by the way whether I cheat or not, whatever we have going is not real so quit keeping tabs on everything I do. Our marriage is a shamp, don't you remember?"
"Ooh our marriage is real honey and you wouldn't want to see me jealous. Trust me sharing is not one of my greatest virtues"

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to my first attempt at writing a novel. I am preparing to participate in the 2017 NaNoWriMo event so enjoy the first chapter as that's here early only to ensure that I have a place to post once the event starts. This means the first novel/book will have a target of 50,000 words. I'm excited to attempt this challenge despite the hurdles I will have to overcome. I do have a demanding full time job so planning time to write and make weekly releases starting in November will be my biggest challenge. Also, please accept my apologies on my cover. I'm not an artist and the only digital tool available at my disposal is the stock microsoft paint. So I did my best to create a decent cover as I did not want to steal the work of another. If there are those interested by the end of November in donating a new fan made cover then I will look into replacing the old cover.
