《(Real) Unsolved Mysteries》borden murders

Lizzie Borden was the only person charged in the murders of her parents, a gory domestic violence case that has never been resolved. And although she was acquitted, on this day in 1893, the town where she remained for the rest of her life didn't believe she was innocent.
There's a children's rhyme that starts "Lizzie Borden took an axe"–you see where this is going. Her jurors ("12 heavily mustachioed men") let her off, but she chose to stay in her home town of Fall River, Massachusetts, where she became a pariah. Her mysterious story has been the subject of speculation ever since.
The story of Lizzie Borden's murder charge has a lot of moving parts, but at its root is that her family had money. That was one of the big motives given for why Borden might have killed her father, Andrew Borden, and her stepmother, Abby Borden.
"Though Andrew was a wealthy businessman, he was notoriously frugal, which caused friction in the household." There were other factors: both Lizzie Borden and her sister Emma still lived at home, but were in their 30s, and they didn't like their father or his wife very much.
"With the despised Andrew and Abby out of the way, Lizzie and Emma stood to inherit an estate which, adjusted for inflation, was worth around seven million dollars." Money and independence in one fell stroke, or actually about 30 strokes in total, as the coroner found.
Borden had behaved suspiciously in the days leading up to the murders, which took place in august 1892. And it seemed unlikely that she couldn't have overheard the brutal crime, as she was home. (Emma was away from home, which gave her an alibi.) But in the end, it was impossible to directly link Borden to the murders and the jury reached its verdict in just 90 minutes. When the verdict was announced, historian Douglas O. Linder said, "Lizzie let out a yell, sank into her chair, rested her hands on a courtroom rail, put her face in her hands, and then let out a second cry of joy."

Newspapers, and the public, just couldn't let the case go. Some speculated that she could have done it while in some kind of fugue state, or—in one dramatic case, that she had done it naked. Other people thought she couldn't have possibly done it because she was an upper-middle class white woman, a group that was perceived as "respectable." In the absence of any kind of decisive proof, rumors flew.
"People refused to sit near her at church,"
"And children, probably daring each other to tempt the murderess, would ring her doorbell in the middle of the night and pelt her house with gravel and eggs."
Somewhere in the decade after Borden's acquittal, the borden rhyme surfaced, "Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother 40 whacks. when she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41."

Raul The Reality-Reshaper
Raul Medrano had believed he was a normal human his entire life until the day he turned 21. The night before his 21st birthday he had a strange dream and acquired something dubbed a "system" that swore it would help him adjust to his status as a "higher being" and a "reality reshaper". And so began Raul's life as an immensely powerful adventurer who has and uses a variety of powers to change his world, and the grander omniverse for the better. This story features an overpowered protagonist who meets and faces off against other overpowered entities, but it begins with the protagonist in a small world where he swiftly becomes one of the big dogs so conflict, in the beginning, isn't going to be especially challenging. This story also mixes elements from my own distinct setting, the multiverse in which "A Solitary God" takes place, with elements from the settings created by people over on the NSFW CYOA (Choose your own adventure) subreddit, such as TroyxPage, and specific CYOAs such as "Goddess of Mankind" and "Love Azathoth" into one distinct, wholly original story. When relevant I'll post links to the CYOAs a chapter references in the author's notes section. Image credit: I got the image for the cover from Pixabay. This story was posted originally on ScribbleHub and will continue to be posted both there and elsewhere.

In Z Finite
This is the story of Zarco, a young guy with a magic stone and not much else, and Caelum, a wingless "angel". "Caelum-That's stupid... Zarco-Eh, it is..." Ahem, anyway, a lot of action & adventure awaits them, as they are forced together on a journey in search of some magic stones of legendary power. "Zarco-Liar! We're currently doing a lot more of "trying to survive" than rock picking around here! Caelum-Yeah, that is pretty misleading." Ok, screw this, I am out, if nobody read this story it will be your fault. "Zarco-The hell are you talking about, you're the one who wrote this... Caelum-Since our writer is unreliable, I will finish this. This story at its core is just a fun rump, focused on action, adventure, and a lot of comedic dialogue and exchanges. If you had at least a chuckle reading this then you will probably enjoy the story. Zarco-Yo, thanks for reading till this point, we will meet again at the pages."
