After my painfully delicious night I woke up to James arms around me, the light forced it way into the bedroom and I was basically blinded. Slowly I got up and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. I started the hot water and shedded my clothes, then I took my time getting into the shower. I closed my eyes and let the hot water fall around me. A gust of wind appeared suddenly.
"Good morning, mind if I join you?" I should've told him to get out.
"No, I don't mind." I said quietly, out bodies were flushed together.
"So what did you do yesterday?" He asked reaching over me to get his soap.
"I ate, got my hair done, nails done, played around with Keano, boring stuff." I shrugged.
"That's not boring, I know you were excited to see them."
"I was, very excited." I smiled to myself. I felt his hands touch me and a fire went off in my core. What the hell is this man doing to me?
"We have a banquet to go to tonight."
"Are you inviting me or are you telling me?" I asked, his hands cupped my boobs and he tweaked my nipples.
"I'm telling you, but I am inviting you to go, I don't feel like going alone, plus you should get used to this stuff."
"Why? I'm not going to be here forever." There was a silence.
"Okay, but you should still get used to it." He said rubbing the soap around my waist.
After our shower tension built, I felt a little guilty, I didn't even know why I felt guilty I just did. James left shortly after that and I had the house to myself like always. I did nothing but clean up the house, I got started on lunch which was a simple grilled cheese with bacon.

The door opened mid-bite and James strolled in. I quickly put down my sandwich.
"Uh, James I'm sorry for, you know what I said in the shower." He shrugged.
"You were simply telling the truth, I want nothing less of the truth, we're not in a relationship." Ouch that kinda hurt.
"Yeah." I said, I clenched my jaw and grabbed my sandwich, I was going to eat in the backyard today. I opened the patio door and closed it behind me. I sat in the sun as I sighed and ate my sandwich. I don't know why I was hurt by his words but I was. Did I want us to be together? I don't know. I scoffed.
I was in my feelings now, I probably had been in my feelings for a while, I felt stupid thinking that this man was going to love me. This whole thing began on a contract, not by will.
I was going to treat it that way.
"What are you thinking about?" I heard James ask, I looked up and he was standing in front of me.
"Nothing."
"Well I couldn't be nothing if you're crying." I touched my face and realized I was crying. Why the hell was I crying?
"No, it's just allergies. It's pollen season." I shrugged off and got up. I threw my trash in the trash can and went up to my closet and looked for a classy dress. I didn't know what environment I was going into tonight so I would have to be looking better than any goddess that ever lived. I simply decided on a silk black dress that was almost too tight to put on. I looked at myself in the mirror and nodded. If that didn't get him hard then it would sure attract some other men. Maybe that's what I needed, someone else to feel attracted to. I stood in the mirror and looked at my face. My skin was clearing up so there would be no need for foundation, maybe just some highlight and I would be good to go.

I walked out of the bathroom proudly and watched as James watched me. His eyes were burning my soul.
"Can you stop staring?" I asked not dating to look at him.
"You're mine, I can do whatever the hell I want. So no, I'm not going to stop staring." I rolled my eyes catching an instant attitude.
"The fuck is your problem?" I asked him grabbing my clutch.
"I could ask you the same thing. Ever since the whole shower thing you've been acting weird."
"Why do you care? We're not in a relationship." I said putting a couple of Franklins in my purse. I heard him laugh. I really wanted to punch this bitch in the face cause he was getting on my last nerve. But I knew deep down I caused this.
"So this is what that's about, us not being in a relationship?"
"I'm choosing not to deal with your antics right now." I replied monotonously.
"No, you don't get to ignore me, that's not how this works. It's called communication, we talk this out until we've come up with a solution."
"But for what? It's not like we're going to break up, because we're not in a relationship!"
"Jesus Christ I can't win with you, it's either this or that, get your beautiful ass in the car." My heart did small flutters before I sent a glare at him and walked to the garage.
"We're taking to corvette, get in."
"Stop telling me what to do."
"Stop acting like a baby." He bickered back.
"I'm not going!" I yelled standing outside of the car. He clenched his jaw and gave me a look, I sent him a glare.

The music at this party was calming. I was forced to dance with the enemy but I did so, instantly melting into his arms as soon as he held me.
"You're acting so bratty today, I give you a day of freedom and you come home a different person, should I be concerned?"
"No, I was just being stupid."
"You're lying, your words were too truthful to be swept under a rug, do you really want us to be together?" I paused.

8 149The King's Queen
#7 in vampire #1 in queenThe world has gotten boring to him after living for many centuries, through many generations. He thought of it as a curse. His gift was anything but a gift, in his opinion. He loved killing people. He always has. He enjoyed seeing the life being drained out of them, quite literally. He always drank every last drop of their life essence, he didn't have mercy. Though he was the king there was something he could never have unlike others of his kind. A soulmate. He hadn't been turned or born from vampire parents. No, he was born a monster from human parents. The first of his kind. Why he was born like it, he didn't know. He didn't care. All he knew was that he wanted to die already, since he had no mate to look forward to. He lived because he couldn't die, at least not physically. He had no reason to live, but many reasons to die and even though he tried many times by many methods, none of them suceeded. He staked himself, on multiple occasions. It felt like a needle piercing his skin. He hung himself. He didn't die, but he hung there, very much conscious. He went on the gillotine. It made his body dissapear and reappear in the same spot he was born in. He took his heart out. He grew one back. He bled out. His blood regenerated. He used silver stakes. They burned his flesh. He overdosed. It did nothing since drugs, alcohol and other dangerous things do absolutely nothing to him, except get him under the influence to a certain level. But none of them filled the emptiness in his heart. He just needed her. But all he got were unimportant girls he used and forgot about. He never felt anything for them. He couldn't. But then on that day while he was walking around a small town's forest, he felt the emptiness slowly being filled up a bit. He stood there in shock. He couldn't believe it. He almost cried of happiness, right then and there. He had her. He had a mate. His mate. His one and only mate. His Queen.
