Chapter 13.
sat in class as she wore some blue jeans with some black jelly sandals and a plain white v-neck. Simple as that.
"Today we're doing Eliminations of Equations..." The whole class erupted in groans and sighs.
Throughout the lesson was plain dull and boring, the math problem was even putting Cyn to sleep, further more beating the shit out of her brains.
When it was over she walked out of her class and over to her locker, to put up her math and biology book.
"Aye you! White shirt." Her head snapped in the direction of the females voice as her and one other girl approached her.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"Why?" She looked at the other girls then back to me.
"You Rodney's new bitch right?" Cyn took a step back and eyed the girl from head to toe.
"Do I look like I'm on four legs hoe?" She listened closely to what she was saying, as a small crowd started to form in the hallway.
"Let me tell you somethin', tell his bitch ass that Nina said watch his back, cause if I can't reach him I know who else to come to." She said eyeing Cyn before they walked off each bumping her shoulder.
Cyn stood there and didn't do nothing back, mainly cause she wasn't getting to that level. The crowd started to fade and started to say shit bout why she hadn't defended herself but Cyn was in a situation where it was only her. As far as she was concerned these stupid young ass broads only got sense to fight for niggas who don't even claim they asses.
Cyn couldn't have waited until school was over, she saw Rodney's car again except this time he wasn't standing outside. She stood flat on her feet looking around thinking that she should walk home, but it'd be no use, cause he was gonna get her anyway.
She walked past him getting inside of the car and slamming the door shut.
"What's wrong with you, tryna' broke my fuckin' door?" He asked staring at Cyn.
"You don't stop complainin' huh?" She mumbled folding her lips together.
"I'm not for it today Cyn honestly." She looked at him and he reached under his seat and pulled out a rectangular box with pink wrapping and a pretty gold bow tied neatly to finish it off.
"Here." He said handing it to her.
"What's it for?" He sighed before answering her question.
"You either take it or give me my shit back." She looked at the box and pulled the bow by the end as it fell onto her lap, she then peeled the pink paper off exposing a black box.
Curiosity filled her brains and she looked at him once more and he gave her an assuring look. Cyn lift the lid off of the box which exposed an envelope, she opened in it and to her surprise it was a few hundreds.
"The hell is this." She mumbled to him.
"Something to jump you." He said in quite an annoyed tone as Cyn rolled her eyes and he started the car and we pulled off.

"I'm not stupid, what for...." She asked.
"For you to start somewhere , what else?" He shrugged as she smirked. He smirk faded when remembering today's events.
"Who's Nina?" She asked watching his face scrunch in confusion almost.
"Lay's braid ass lil sister..." He said shaking his head and it became known to Cyn what was going on.
"Can you do me a favor please?" She asked him politely as she heard him sigh.
"What?"
"I need you to drop me off somewhere." She told him as he knitted his brows.
"Where?"
"Kimbrough..." He looked at her with his brow raised as if he knew she was lying.
"For what, ain't you done with round there?" He asked.
"Yea, I just need to handle somethin'..." She said.
"What?"
"Just, please. I got somethin' to do." Without another word he did as told.
banged on the screen door multiple times as the main door swung open, she watched his eyes lit up as he unlocked the screen door and quickly embraced her with a hug.
Of course she had didn't tell Rodney exactly what she wanted to do, but it was only to get her way knowing that he wouldn't approve of her going back to the park.
At first she was expecting a 'where were you' but she was wrong.
Cyn pulled away and smiled.
He stepped aside and she looked back at where her old building sat, it didn't change and still looked ran down.
Travis stepped aside and let her go in as she looked around and exhaled.
"Where you been?" Travis asked.
"I'm staying with a friend. I told you that..." She said turning towards him.
"I was worried when I ain't saw you no more that day and what friend is this?"
"I told you Travy, I'm alright. It's just a friend and I'm only gone be there for the time being."
"What damn friend Cyn? I've been around you all your time here and you ain't never mentioned no friend!" He said holding his arms out.
"Travy, please alright stop yelling. I promise you I'm doing fine. I just came to see how you and your mama was doing." She said as she noticed how relaxed he was getting.
"She alright I just took her to get her medications this morning. Nothin' nobody could do no more." He said with a hint of defeat in his voice.
"Anyways I got something for you." He said with a crooked smile as she remembered.
"I really was hoping that you'd come..." He spoke as the smile never left his lips.
"How come?"
"Like I said; I got you somethin' you."
"Could've just given it to me in school." She smiled.
"Nah Cyn. I'm not coming back...." He said pushing his hands in his pockets.
"Why?"
"It don't make no sense, my Mama's down who gone pay the rent and shit, I can't keep up with school and work I had to let one go." He said and she fully understood after he said that only he knows what was best for his own right now.

been an hour or two since Cyn was here and all they did was sit on his front porch and talked.
"After mama die I think I'm gone go to Alabama or something." Travis said.
"Stop talking shit, you don't know what can happen." She said.
"Ain't nothing gone happen to her but death Cyn, face facts you see it I see we all do ain't nothing nobody can do 'bout it either." He huffed.
When Travis said something and made his mind up there's no changing it and now Cyn had guessed that he was more than likely prepared for her to die, and to be real she didn't look too good and may whoever bless her soul, Cyn known her for as long as she can member. She was always a nice person, but things changed when she got sick and couldn't move around as much, Travis' dad left and married another woman never lookin' back...
"Is he you boyfriend Cyn?" Travis asked.
"What?" She asked looking at him.
"I said if he your boyfriend?"
"Who?" She asked playin' dumb.
"The drug dealer you be riding round here with?" Cyn furrowed her brows and bit her lip.
"No... I'm just staying there for a while." And that was truth her and Rodney weren't a thing they just lived together and that was that, feelings were in the midst but they still knew their place, and like he said he didn't want no relationship.
"Coo'." He said.
"Why?" She smiled at him.
"Nothin', I just asked." He shrugged.
"Your crushin' on me ain't you?" She laughed.
"What! Hell nah, I look at you like a baby sister Cyn." He rolled his eyes and Cyn nudged his head.
"Yea right."
"You goin' to your graduation?" He asked and she shrugged.
"Maybe, maybe not." Cyn mumbled knowing she wasn't going no damn where.
"I think you should go." He stated.
"And there you go thinkin' again." She sighed rolling her eyes at him.
"For real, I'll be there supportin' your ass and you know it." He pursed his lips.
"I'm gone think about it." She said.
"You better."
Thinking about it then and there, it made no sense the money that she would put towards that could go towards something better. She looked up at her old house and took in all the foul shit that went down in there, most nights she still worry, but then it's like it never happened.
"You know, ever since you left, it ain't been nothin' but hell raisin' over there..." He said following Cyn's gaze.
"Wendell brings all kind of females over there Debra don't even care and I see her coming home at six in the a.m and shit." She broke eye contact from the building and looked at him confusingly.
"What do you think goin' on?"
"Well honestly I think she trickin' again." He spoke sighing afterwards, she'd believe it. After all she don't got Cyn to bring in the money no more.
"Well it don't got nun to do with me." She mumbled looking down at her hands.
"Never said it did..."
"Why everything gotta be so fucked up all the time Travis?" She said out of the blue.
"It's just Gods way of working baby girl, not before time." He spoke as Cyn scoffed.
"Everything is God this God that, what are you doing for you as your own person?" She heard him chuckled.
"What did God do to you?" He chuckled.
"Nothing Travis, not a shit. The same thing he did for me, not a single fuck." She hissed.
"Everything is just wrong in our life..." She sighed.
"Nothing is wrong, everything is right, when God wants his break through to be done it'll be done, it doesn't works in Cyn's or Travis' way." He explained.
"If it did the world what have been a better place don't you think?" She mumbled.
"Taking things for granted is serious shit Cyn. But if I prove you wrong I bet you'll be changed in no time." He smiled.
"Prove me wrong how?" She said giving him a look.
"Let me take you to Church Sunday..." he said.
"I don't think so Travis." Cyn shook her head at the stupid though and went back into thinking. 'Take me to Church? Most bullshit I've heard for the year' she thought to herself, it don't work like so, when you feel so abandoned you feel left alone and as there ain't nothing nobody can do to make you feel that there are people who still care, it gets hard to even take them seriously. Most of the time, it feels so unreal and makes you feel as if they trying to play your ass and fuck up your mind more than before. This was all that ran through Cyn's mind, how can blame her?
"Anyways, I got to go." She said standing up not wanting to indulge in this conversation much longer.
"Your goin' where exactly?" He asked and she didn't even know how to answer.
"I don't know Travy, I really don't know." Cyn walked off the steps and started to trail away.
"Cyn..." She turned around seeing Travis looking up at her, with a look of guilt or what could be been concern on his face.
"Yea?"
"Consider it... alright?" She hesitated before giving him a head nod. Starting to walk again she stopped suddenly.
"How do you do it Travis..... I'm thankful for you, most of the times I just feel like I'm shit made." They both laughed as she wiped he sweat off of her forehead.
"But you ain't. Your a masterpiece, trust me."
Cyn didn't know how to reply to this, she'd never been met with such word, dumbfounded was what she was...
