Chapter 10.
went by quick today and the bell had now finally rang for Cyn to go home. This turned out to be her new favorite time of the day. After she told Rodney about her barely minimum wage checks, he offered her money but Cyn declined, she didn't want to become that type of girl.
When Cyn got outside she looked up at the skies and noticed that it was going to rain, and to her surprise she saw Rodney leaning up against his black escalade.
"You must be feeling yourself." Cyn mumbled walking to him.
"It's about to rain so I figured I'd come and get yo' lil ass." He said standing up straight and getting into the escalade on his side, she quickly got to the passenger side and hopped in.
"How was school?" He asked.
"School was....school." She said shifting in her seat.
"This your last year right?" Cyn nodded.
"When's the date of graduation?" He asked making her cheeks heat up.
"It don't really matter, I'm not going." She told him as they came to a red light.
"Why?" He said and Cyn sighed.
"I don't have any money to pay for the fee, and besides, its small things."
"You can go, I'll cover that." He said.
"Listen, I really do appreciate it trust me. But I don't think that's necessary, it's nothing big Rodney." He nodded.
"Alright." He left the conversation at that and they rode in silence. She also realized that they weren't going in the direction of home.
She didn't question it, instead she just laid back and enjoyed the ride. A few minutes later they were in a whole different part of town that Cyn didn't even knew existed.
She realised that it was more ran down than their side, graffiti buildings, sneakers hanging from the electrical wires the usual she should say, but in a way it was all different.
"Is this where you hang at?" She asked looking over at him.
"Yea." He said and soon we a arrived at a blue and white wooden house, it wasn't big, but it looked like a normal house, the music was blasting loudly as some unknown rapper was blowing through the speakers.
"You comin'?" He asked.
"Hell yeah, I don't know nobody 'round here..." Cyn spoke examining her surroundings.
"You sure 'bout that?" He asked with a brow raised, she looked around once more without thinking a third time.
"Yes I'm sure..." He got out the jeep as Cyn got out after him and they made their way up the front steps where were a few niggas outside playing some card game.
"Let's go, and when you get in the back there please stay close to me and don't go wondering off. You got that?" Cyn nodded, he didn't have to tell her twice, when they got on the inside there was a mixture of smells containing alcohol, weed and sweaty body's.

It was crazy packed inside as most of the females were grinding on the men, Rodney gripped Cyn's hand for guidance purposes as he pushed them both through the crowd, the further they walked the less claustrophobic Cyn felt.
When they finally got to a less tightening space he dropped Cyn's hand and she felt somewhat empty again. Cyn didn't wanna admit it, but she felt something for Rodney. It wasn't quite clear in exactly what the feeling was, but it was there.
They were now headed down a hallway as she followed closely behind him not wanting to get side tracked. When they had came to the end of the hall, they made a left and down at the very end was a door.
They walked to it and stood there as he knocked a few times, they waited for about a mere second before the door flew open and they were greeted by a 6ft tall dark man with dreads, tattoos covered every square inch of his body who stood there cold faced as he stared back at Rodney and Cyn, in a split second of tenseness he then burst into laughter as Rodney did the same. She was utterly confused and instantly the regret of agreeing to be here kicked in.
"Where the fuck your lil ugly twig ass been?" The guy laughed dapping him up with the hand shake that they were familiar with.
"I been on the low..." Rodney said trailing off as the guy's face was now focused on Cyn.
"You ain't say nothing about a new one." He spoke lickin' his dry lips.
Cyn shrunk under Rodney's tall figure now feeling a bit uncomfortable, she wasn't sure if it was because who he was or what he do.
"Watch your ass Caesar."
Caesar...The name rang in Cyn's mind trying to figure out where she had heard it from.
She'd heard about him and it wasn't nothing pretty either, shit 'bout robbing banks or killing out some pigs, but he was never caught. Niggas like Rodney them were just that good, you'd never see their faces but always heard the names, but him- Cyn was sure about him.
"Man what the fuck you waitin' on, get your ass in here..." He said stepping aside letting them in.
She regretted instantly even comin' out of the car, half naked women sat on some of the men laps as the others were dancing vulgarly and clapping their ass cheeks to the beat.
"What you need?" He shouted at Rodney over the music.
"Whatever you got." He shot, Ceasar nodded and walked off to somewhere as Rodney turned towards Cyn.
"You can sit down if you want..." he said turning to look at her.
"Can I have your keys?"

"For what?" No one had to state it but Cyn could've heard the irritation draining from his tone.
"Never mind..." She said rolling her eyes and walking away pushing her way through the filthy sweaty bodies.
She soon found an empty couch and flopped down watching the exposure of things that she wasn't used to.
"Yo' ease up off that shit!" She heard a man yell on the other side of the room, a commotion started but she really didn't know what it was all about.
"What the fuck do I look like?" Cyn got up and watched as the dude wiped the white powder from underneath his nose.
"Lil pussy ass bitch..." The other nigga said shaking his head.
"Y'all relax with that foul ass shit 'fore I bust both of y'all mother fucking caps!" Ceasar yelled over the music, soon everybody turned back to what they were doing, Cyn figured he was the one that called the shots, so he wasn't none to fuck with, and the fact that Rodney dealt with him made her cringe.
hour later or so, it was all still going on, Rodney was piped up in the corner with a glass of dirty sprite and some broad shaking her ass all over him. Cyn was far from bothered but the fact that she wanted to go was what really bothered her.
"She took your man huh?" She looked up and saw a guy who looked some where about a few years older than her, maybe as old as Rodney. The tattoo's were endless compared to Rodney's, and he had caramelized skin with a scar across his left eye. But those eyes, Cyn had never seen nothing like em', they were hazel with a hint of green.
"Excuse you?" She cocked her head to the left wondering if she had heard right.
"Don't fuck me up I'm only jokin' with yuh'." He laughed. She decided that if she'd ignore him then maybe he'd go away, but he stayed right there.
"You his girlfriend?" He asked me.
"No."
"So what you jealous for?" He asked looking over at them.
"Jealous?" Cyn laughed.
"You fucked in the head bruh..." She said as he shrugged.
"Not that much..."
"What?" She asked slightly confused.
"Yo' Calvin, get over here man." Caesar called out to him.
He lit a blunt and looked at Cyn once more before giving her a head nod and walking over to the guy, he left her there puzzled but she soon forgot about it as her mind drifted some place else.....her eyes were opened up to many things tonight and she swore that she didn't quite understand the concept of it but getting to the tip of the iceberg wasn't a pleasant sight either, she figured it was really her fault cause she should've set them boundaries, she wasn't about to be apart of Rodney's 'regular' life. In the main time Cyn played with her earlobe until Rodney was done with his play time...
When they got in his car no words were exchanged, matter of fact Cyn was mad as shit, he started the car and pulled off from the party that was still going on.
"You hungry?" He said breaking the silence after a while.
Cyn didn't reply as she stared out of the dark tinted windows.
"Fine don't answer me, your ass gone starve... Ain't like I ain't give your ass a choice." He huffed, rolling her eyes she continued to stare out of the window...
"Rodney?"
"What..."
"What's up with that place?" He chuckled lightly and then stopped.
"Not a shit, just people livin' they life, there's gonna come a day when they can't see shit, so why not live up to it now......" He paused before squinting his eyes and biting his lip.
"What'd Calvin tell you?" He asked as she scrunched her eyebrows in confusion and then remembering the guy that had talked to her.
"Nothing, he just asked if you were my dude?" She mumbled feeling a bit ashamed. She wasn't going to tell him everything cause she might get the guy in trouble, plus she was still lost on half the shit he meant.
"And you lied and said I was..." He said bursting into laughter as she nudged his arm.
"Nigga I ain't desperate..."
"Just be careful..." He said turning straight faced.
"Why, I though all y'all was cool?"
"He's my best friend Cyn, I'm givin' you heads up...He ain't no good." He mumbled the last few words.
"And I guess you are?"
"I took you in, ain't I?" He spoke rhetorically.
He didn't say anything else but he went pretty quiet and Cyn hated when moments got like this, it was like they were back at the same day where it all began. It was clearer than day, she didn't know what she was up against and she didn't know how to deal with this situation. The life Rodney lived wasn't fit for Cyn; she couldn't handle it. It was just that simple. She wanted to know more about the shit he did and for some odd reason it low-keyed fascinated her, but then again curiosity killed many....
