Chapter 7.

She misjudged him big time. He didn't even live on the Cyn's side of town, it wasn't far but it was a more presentable area, his apartment was gorgeous especially for a guy like him she thought, it wasn't too fancy but he kept it pretty decent. Cyn's mind traveled and she wondered what else Rodney had under his belt.

"You don't really mind me being here right?" Cyn asked lowly.

"No, just as long as you stay in school and live by my rules, alright." She nodded, and he gave her a stern look.

"Dea- how you know I'm in school and how is me staying in school beneficial to you?" She asked.

"First of all your facial looks are young as hell and I'on give a shit 'bout it benefiting but it is to you..." He said rubbing his hands over his head, which made Cyn wonder if he was that good at reading people or if she was just that easy to read. School wasn't really a priority of Cyn, so him telling her that was basically him wasting breath.

"If you gone get washed up the bathrooms on the left third door and if your hungry...you can help yourself." He said turning his back walking to the very last room which was at the end of the hall.

She was left in the living room alone, Cyn sat down on the couch and she looked around at everything that was happening. She didn't know if kicked out was her ticket out of there but she was pretty glad it happened.

She heard a knock on the door and her heart started pounding against her chest, that was until she heard the room door open.

"Aye, get in one of them rooms and don't make no sound, alright." She gave him a nod and took her stuff to one of the rooms and closed the door behind her.

Cyn looked around the room that she was in and it was just plain dull, no colour and no enthusiasm what-so-ever. She walked over to the bed and sat on it, it was softer than hers of course and better. Sighing she looked around grasping sight of everything that was around her.

"I heard what went down today." An unfamiliar voice spoke.

"You just hearing this shit?" Rodney said in a monotonous voice.

"Yea, when I reached there Corey was there with them south side girls questioning them and what not." The person said.

"Word?" Rodney asked and it was silent, real silent.

"That's some shit, when I went there Thursday none a they asses said shit bout it and I was too upset to even listen to what had to be told."

"Man the shit that be going on up there is no joke, Calvin got all of they asses in check plus I heard that Tj was coming back."

"What the fuck he expect Tj to do, stand and watch shit go down and get scared shitless." Cyn heard them bust out laughing, she figured what exactly was she getting herself into.

The laughter died down and that's when she had thought he was done.

"I'll come by tomorrow." Rodney said.

"Yea, we'll be waiting and don't be late like last time. They gone get your ass." The guy laughed but nothing was said by Rodney.

"When your a boss, ain't no rules neither regulations."

"I'll catch you later." The other person said, Cyn heard the door close and it indicated that he was gone.

She wasn't the one to be all up in people's business but she couldn't help but over hear it. It seems to her like he had no shame of what he did and was really proud of what he had accomplished.

Cyn heard the door open and her head snapped over to where Rodney was, she turned her head back to stare at the plain white wall that was in the front of her. She felt the bed dip and she knew that Rodney was looking at her.

"You just gone ignore my presence?" With all due respect, Cyn turned her head towards him and honestly she didn't realise what a beauty he was until now. His dead eyes made him look even more appealing than ever.

"Cyn!" She was snapped out of dazed.

"Yea? I'm sorry I-" He chuckled.

"You hungry?"

"I'll go get something right now." She stood to her feet and he gripped her arm.

"You really think I'm gone let my guest cook?" He looked at her with a brow raised, she bit her lip and held her head down in embarrassment. Cyn didn't know what to expect from this guy, to her; he was just unpredictable.

"Come on, wrong room." She got up and she walked foot for foot behind him until they made it to the kitchen.

She watched as he got some pots out along with spaghetti pasta from the cabinets.

"You cook?" She asked him.

"What you think?"

"I think nothing, I just weren't expecting you to do all of this..." She trailed off noticing the difference in his stare.

"Cause what? You learned what I do? You don't judge someone without knowing them Cyn, cause if I were to judged you right now and tell you what I honestly wanted to, you would've probably been done crying or some shit." He said turning the water on.

"Trust me Rodney, pointing a gun to my head right now wouldn't even make me cry. I've seen it all yet been through it all. What you got up your sleeve ain't nothing new." He stared at her intensely before turning back to the pot.

"You believe your tough? This ain't the time Cyn." He spoke.

"I don't believe I'm tough, it's just that what you think you can say to make me break isn't going to work." I said.

There was silence complete until he scoffed.

"I like you. Your not scared of shit, keep it that way and you'll outlive allata shit." Cyn scoffed.

"Right..." she mumbled. It was a slight silence for a minute. It wasn't awkward either.

"What happened?"

"What?" I asked confused.

"What happened? The night I saw you with them shit on your face." He said and she sighed giving in.

"I got hit."

"By who?" He asked.

"...Wendell ." He stopped stirring the pot and looked at her.

"What he hit you for?" He asked and she got slightly annoyed.

"Can we just leave that there, I really don't think this is appropriate for this time."

"I left it the first time, I ain't leaving it now. Now what the fuck he hit you for?" He urged.

"Cause h-he tried to get at me. And I guess I wasn't obeying him." Cyn stood to her feet waiting for him to comment but he didn't, she walked into the living room which was open to the kitchen and sat on the couch.

She didn't want nobody to question her about something that she'd be carrying around for the rest of her life, and she certainly didn't want Rodney to ask her about it, many things at this point ran through her mind. Did he think of me as a hoe now? Or some broad off the street? And the more she thought about it the more insecure she felt.

She didn't want to hear the mention of Wendell's name again, neither Debra's. Which made her think if they were even worried about her where abouts right now.

She was sitting on the couch for quite a while now and the aroma of food hit filled her nostrils. She stood up and walked back to the kitchen where she spotted Rodney with his head low eating away.

"You couldn't have called." She mumbled.

"You could've just stayed. And it ain't like I'm gone judge you on some shit you weren't in control of." He said pausing from his meal and then continued to eat after he was done talking to her.

She went to the pot when she had realised that he wasn't going to pick up the food for her, Cyn scooped up some spaghetti and walked over to the island and began to eat.

It was a different aura when it came to this guy and believe it or not, he seemed just too good to be for real, Cyn tried not to to make it seem so awkward, but this was kind of difficult due to the fact that she was sitting here with a complete stranger. Shoving bugging thoughts to the side, she slowly started to enjoy her first few hours of peace.....
