《Trapped Soul (Completed)》Chapter 5

Chapter 5.
came to school sometime after nine, she honestly didn't feel like getting up this morning or any other morning, she went to first period and sat down in her seat which was in the second row straight to the back.
"Okay!" Mrs. Parker said as she turned around and clasped her hands together.
"Have you all started on your projects?" They all looked around at each other and no one said anything. Stuff stuff like 'what project?' or 'I forgot' was all that could be heard throughout the class.
"You guys have to do this, besides I told the principal that this would be added to your course work and if you don't complete it you can't graduate." There were groans throughout the class and even curse words slipped out a few of their mouths, instead of school work other things corrupted their young minds.
"Enough chatter for the day. I've got an assignment for you all." She smiled and started to hand out the papers.
When Cyn got the paper she immediately started to work, she figured the quicker she get it done; they quicker she'd leave.
was over and everyone turned in their works as for as for Cyn, she was still was working.
"Cyntana?" she heard Mrs. Parker called, she didn't respond due to her tryin' to focus.
Her slim, pale, delicate hand rested upon Cyn's desk as she looked up glaring at Mrs. Parker pursing her lips.
"Why aren't you done?" She asked.
"Cause I'm tryin' to make sure that I don't got no mistakes." She stated in an obvious tone then returned her eyes back to the paper.
"You had enough time to do this, if the others can finish in one period the surely you can also." She looked up at her once more.

"Well I'm not 'the others' alright, I'm Cyn." Cyn heard her sigh and she walked away from her, Cyn continued to do her work and then once again she felt her presence.
"Here." She looked up and saw a book in her hand, Cyn gave her a look then took it hesitantly.
"Elijah of Buxton?"
"Why are you giving me this?" She asked holding the book up.
"Because I've read it, and its similar to someone I know." She smiled.
"You comparing me to a slave boy when you barely know me I d-" She cut Cyn off before she could've finished. Being a white teacher schooling black kids was more of an obstacle than a job to Mrs. Parker.
"No Cyn, it's not like that. He wanted to help someone, he put his friend needs before his, he did what he wanted and got what he wanted. But finding his way back home was his problem. His destiny was home. What's Cyntana Bridges destiny?" She gave Cyn a sorry look and she lowered her head. It hit her deep. What was her destiny? She didn't even know, this kept her pondering for a minute or two.
"Please read it." She urged.
Through out her whole day what her and Mrs. Parker had discussed early played on her mind, she somewhat felt belittled not knowing how to answer that question, she really didn't know what she was in for but she searched herself in hopes that maybe; just maybe her destiny would find her.
school was over Cyn was walking home since Reena said that she'd work today's shift, it wasn't no biggie although she was implying that Cyn needed a break, if it was up to her Cyn would work her ass off everyday, forget breaks, forget rest, they don't make money. Reena was Cyn's boss. Simple, she felt like she didn't need nobody tellin' her what she needed from what she didn't.

She couldn't help but feel as if she was tryin' to say that she was helpless, but whatever it is she had in mind Cyn hope it didn't have no affect on her working.
"Yo' Cyn."
"Cyn, man wait up!" Cyn stopped in her tracks as she saw Travis running towards her.
"Where were you?" He asked as he tried to catch his breath.
"Lookin' for your ass." He panted as she chuckled.
"Nah, nigga you couldn't have been lookin' for me when I was waitin' for your ass at the front gate."
"Mr. Smith let us out late, talkin' shit like somebody gave a damn." He laughed.
"What class?" She asked.
"Sex Ed." He pointed out.
Cyn really didn't know what sex ed was necessary for if these young folk was gone do whatever they wanted to do at the end of the day, whether if it was ending up with a baby or a disease.
It wasn't long before her and Travis separated cause he had work, but he walked her close enough.
When she got back home Cyn met some stuff outside she heard Debra and Wendell arguing. She looked at the clothes thrown out on the floor and she realized that they were hers.
She banged on the door until it flew open.
"The fuck with all that banging!" He yelled in her face.
"Why are my stuff out here?" She asked him.
"Take that shit up with Debra!" He yelled, she saw that people stared to come out of their apartments to see what was happening. Cyn sighed depressingly and held her head.
"What the fuck are you talking about, get out my way!" She shoved him to the side but he pushed me back, Debra then came to the door, she held a piece of paper in her hand then she tossed it to Cyn.
She looked over it and then she looked back at Debra.
"What does this gotta do with me!"
"If you don't bring in no more money what's the fucking use." And that's all she was after, the social security funds Cyn got after her dad died. At least, Cyn never really got anything from it.
Cyn looked at her lost for words, and if Cyn said that she wasn't expecting this she'd be a liar. Cyn knew one day they was gone do this shit. Just didn't think it would be now, she knew she wasn't gone change her mind by puttin' her out so Cyn didn't bother on begging...
"Can at least get my the rest of my stuff." She stood to the side and Cyn pushed past her, she went to her room and went to the drawer and pealed the tape off of the money she had saved and walked out.
Cyn looked at her one more time as Wendell stood beside her with a smirk on his face. She wanted to hurt Cyn, she wanted to break her, to see her cry....
But like Cyn replayed over and over again in her head, the bitch wasn't gone get it.

Immovable Mage
What do you call a mage incapable of casting spells? In this story, we usually call him Terry. When the boy is accepted into Arcana Academy, his talent in the pillars of mana foundation awes everyone. All the bigger is the eventual disappointment when Terry turns out to be an utter failure at spellwork. Diagnosis? Major aspect impairment. No cure. Ever. Faced with expulsion, Terry is blessed with the unexpected kindness of others. Terry loses his spot in the Academy but in exchange, he finds a home with a family. Terry starts to train as a pure mana cultivator but never stops looking for his own path as a mage – day after day, season after season, always searching for compatible spellwork… Until finally, Terry’s perseverance earns him a single spell – the only spell he will ever be able to cast. Disclaimers: Chapter Frequency: I aim for one chapter a week. Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 3000 and 6000 words. Binge Preference: I plan for 30 chapters per arc. If you want to binge a complete arc, then that is the number to wait for. I will also add a line to chapters indicating the beginning and end of an arc. Advanced Access: I have created a patreon page with early access to four chapters for patrons. What to Expect: Progression fantasy with a western fantasy setting and with eastern fantasy elements. A main character that is forced to explore a very narrow path of magic due to a permanent condition. A main character that is a part of a larger cast. A main character that is growing but won't become the strongest around anytime soon. A story following a single main character but with introduction or theme setting scenes without the main character. What Not to Expect: Edgy grimdark characters – I will never write a sexual violence scene or gory descriptions of torture. I hate reading it and I would hate writing it even more. Romance – romantic relationships will never be the focus of the story and only appear in the background. The main character is preoccupied with other stuff. Other forms of relationships (family, friends, companions) play a bigger role. Cover: The cover art was commisioned from redditor Linh-Nguyen87. The font is alita brush by Inovatype Typefoundry. Overview: 001–030 Arc 1, Cultivating Perseverance: complete. 031–060 Arc 2, Undying Defiance: complete. 061–090 Arc 3, Unyielding Fury: scheduled for publishing. 091–120 Arc 4, Savage Hope: scheduled for publishing. 121–150 Arc 5, Self-Made Fate: first draft in progress. 151–180 Arc 6, Heretic Style: sketching in progress. Further Arcs are still in the sketching and idea collection phase.

Macabre Mim
*Note: This story is on hiatus. I intend to pick it up again, but the mood of my life has shifted for the time being and I'm going to be working on a side project for a bit.* What would you give to live the life of your dreams? What kind of deal would you make? And when you were there, forced to stare your dreams in the eye and live them every day, how long would it be... before they broke you? Author's note: This is my first excursion outside the realm of villain fan fiction and I welcome feedback. The thing I've loved most about RRL so far is the potential for writing to be an interactive experience with excited readers. That said, also, the primary genre this is intended for is the blossoming realm of LitRPG. Namely, a slice of life tale in the manner of Grimgar or Re:Zero. So, likewise, I don't expect there will ever be a clear beginning-middle-and-end type of pattern to this story. It will likewise always be a bit more of a reactionary, exploratory novel into realms unknown - much like the 1800 travel-novel theme used by Jules Verne. Or, at least, that is my ambition.
