Chase Pov.
My head pounded, as my eyes slowly opened.
A familiar lady with blonde hair, and light blue eyes peered over me.
“Maria?” I mumbled.
“Chase, honey.” She hugs me.
I push her off quickly.
Her reaction seemed hurt, but I shrugged it off. I get off of the bed, and take out the needles out of my arms.
“Chase, get back in the bed now.” She said sternly.
I ignored her and put on my shoes that were on the chair.
“Chase, why didn’t you tell me you were taking these?” She holds up the pain medication I was taking.
“I have headaches, okay?” I groan. I walked out the room, and out of the hospital.
I feel my pockets for my phone, but it was empty. I tried to think but my focus was unsteady. My head ached. I walked back into the hospital room, and found my phone on the small table next to the door, I look over at my mother sobbing on the bed.
“Can you please stop making a scene?” I shout. “It’s not like you actually care.”
I face the door preparing to walk out.
“Why didn’t you ever tell me you had headaches?” She asks, slowly getting off of the hospital bed.
I ignore her, and run out the room.
I look at my phone for any miss calls from Maya, but they were none. They were a couple notification from twitter saying I was spotted at a hospital.
I groan, how the hell was I supposed to get home?
The people in the hospital stared at me.
I gave them a small smile, reassuring them I was fine.
I open the doors to the hospital, and inhaled the cool air. I dial my manger’s number.

“Hey Steve, Can you pick me up quickly?” I whispered into the phone. I stared at the girls who were staring at me, as if I was star bucks.
I tried calling Maya, but the call would s say no service at this number.
Did she get home safely? I couldn’t help but worry.
Soon after, Steve arrived.
“She came.” I said quietly.
Steve look gloomily into the rear mirror.
“My mother” I continued. “She actually came.”
“The hospital did call her.” Steve said fumbling with the radio. “So, Of course she would.”
“You know Maria, she doesn’t want to make herself look bad.” He said.
I nodded. It was true, if she didn’t come she would have been on the internet as bad mother. She “should” be on the internet as bad mother.
“Hey Steve, Can you stop someplace quickly?” I asked him.
“Sure.”
I told him the directions to Maya’s house.
There was a car park beside the side of the house. Is it Regina’s car?
I open the door, and quickly ran up to Maya’s door and rang the bell a few times.
The door opened.
“What a surprise.”
I looked up. My heart instantly dropped, causing me to cough.
“Where the hell is Maya?” I grabbed the man from his collar.
“Maya” He calls into the house.
Maya appears her face bruised, and lip busted. Her black makeup trailed down her face. Even through all that she still looked beautiful.
Her eyes filed up with tears, she ran into my arms pushing Victor out of the way.
“Chase” she cries into my shoulder.
I lifted my hand to punch the guy, but Maya stops me.
She shakes her head. “Don’t it’s no use.”
My hand trembles, and I slowly release my hand from a fist.

She gives me a small, wiry smile her eyes filled with tears.
“You’re alright, I’m glad.” She smiles.
“I still have to make you dinner.” She laughs.
I know she’s trying hard to act brave, but I see right through her act.
“Come with me.” I say, “Leave the house.”
She shakes her head. “I can’t, I wish I could.” She whispers.
“Maya, get back in here and apologize to Victor.” A women yelled out from inside the house.
She presses her lips together. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
She walks into the house, and closes the door behind her.
I was overly angry at myself. I should have never gotten her involved. This was Wyatt problem.
What the hell was I thinking?
Steve drives me back home.
I chugged down a bottle of vodka, and moved on to the wine.
Why is trouble always around me?

Subversion is a game with highly customizable settings that allow you to fine tune your character choices. It was state-of-the-art when it was released, won awards and everything. It's not a game for you to pick "random" and hope for the best. But, that's exactly what Miguel did when he started playing. And, of course, his characters came out a little...different. A pothead bombardier elf who cusses and engineers. A stubborn Chosen One who refuses to do anything but farm. And a world full of NPCs, bosses, and villains who act nothing like they should. Now Miguel is forced to adjust the situation in order to help his characters level up and defeat the Dark Lord. But, will they make it to the end of the game? And if they do somehow survive all the tricks, betrayals, and deception thrown their way, will the game be what anyone thought it was going to be? *** As of [13] Do a Barrel Roll! Ch. II, Subversion will no longer be uploaded on Royal Road. Please go to forestgreenwriting.com for more chapters.***
