My heels connected to the sidewalk as Tasha finally pulled up to the docks. My eyes widened as I looked at the giant fancy boats, each one glistening with fairy lights as rich people conversed and laughed quietly.
I look over to Tasha, "We in the right place?" I whisper yelled as she walked around the car, "Girl, yes. Are we gonna act like your boyfriend isn't loaded?" She laughs as she grabs my hand and leads me along the docks. I felt so out of place as some people stopped and stared. I kept looking forward as a familiar face came into view. My eyes widened as they landed on Dion.
His suit was a classic crisp black and white look but he always had to make it shine as his watch and rings glittered on his fingers. I didn't even realize Tasha had left and my feet were walking on their own until I stopped right before him, "H-Hi.." My voice was soft as he eyed me up and down. I felt like my heart would leap out my chest as his hand moved to my lower back, "You look amazing.." He finally spoke up and I felt like my legs would turn to jello.
I've heard his voice a million times and yet I'm never prepared when he opens his mouth. My eyes watched his lips as he talked about me, "You're so beautiful.. Everyone is looking at you.." He slowly lead me up to the yacht. He stepped first and took my hand before helping me into the boat, "I barely noticed.. I'm too busy looking at you." I mumble softly and watch his eyes lock onto mine, those deep brown orbs almost made me lose my breath.
His lips lifted into a smile as he guided me to the deck. My eyes widened at the table prepared, "Oh my goodness.." I gasp softly at the romantic candle lit table. I let him lead me to a chair and watched him pull it out for me, "Madame." He said smoothly and I had to hold in my girlish giggles as I sat down and let him push me in. I bite my lip as I watched him sit down across from me, a big smile on his face, "Do you like?" He snaps his finger and a waiter appears from below deck, he pours sparkling champagne into our glasses, "Hello Sir and Madame.. The boat will be taking off shortly and then dinner will be served." I smile brightly and nod my head as Dion chuckles, "Thank you." The waiter bows before leaving.
"I love it so so so much!" I gush excitedly and look around the boat as it slowly pulls off from the dock. I look to Dion who watched me, "I was nervous you wouldn't, in all honesty." He speaks up after a moment and I look at him confused, "I love everything you do. Why would this scare you?" I tease and he laughs softly before shrugging, "I dont know.. I just wanted to make sure you were comfortable and stuff.." He trailed off as his eyes looked behind me. I turn around to the waiter carrying out a large bag.
"O-Oh goodness." My eyes widen as he places it next to me. I look to Dion, "Go ahead. Grab the first gift." I slowly reach inside and pull out a long thin box. It's soft velvet material made my heart jump as I slowly opened it. A gasp left my lips, "It's beautiful.." it glittered wonderfully under the moon light as I held it out of its box. I've never seen a necklace sparkle so much as I looked at Dion with wide eyes.

He laughed as he got out his chair and ears to stand behind me, "I'll put it on for you." He gently took it from my hands, much to my appreciation. My hands were shaking so much from holding something so expensive. I gently held my hair out the way as he carefully placed it around my neck, "Wow.." I gasp softly as I heard him clasp it. I turn around in my chair to face him and melt as he puts a finger under my chin, "I cant stop falling deeper in love with you.." He mumbled softly as our eyes connected.
I smiled as he slowly bent down and pressed a kiss to my forehead. I reach up and grab his cheek as I move my lips to his. The kiss was soft and sweet as I slowly stood up from my chair. His hands moved to my waist as my arms moved around his neck. I didn't realize music was playing until he broke the kiss and rocked us slowly along. A small laugh left my lips as he sang along, "At laaaast..My love has come along.." He dramatically sang and I couldn't help my laugh as he shook his head soulfully.
"My lonely days are over..And life is like a song." I join in, earning a loving look from him as his hands pulled me closer. I let my head fall on his chest as my eyes closed, listening to his voice, "At last.. The skies above are blue." He sang softly and rested his chin on my head, "My heart was wrapped up in clover..The night I looked at you.." I sing again and listen to his heart speed up.
My own felt like it was going to jump out my chest. I knew everything he had planned was leading to something big. He had thought everything out perfectly and I could tell by the look in his eyes this wasn't a regular date.
I slowly stood back up and looked into his eyes, "What is all this for?.. The nails, the dress, the boat.. I'm being so spoiled right now." I laugh softly and he presses another kiss to my skin, "Because, you deserve it. For putting up with me and loving me.. You deserve more.." His thumb rubbed slow circles on my hip as we swayed slowly.
"You definitely deserve more.. You saved me and still try to convince me I saved you.. I should be giving you all this." My hands moved to hold his cheeks gently, my thumb rubbing his smooth skin as I watched him lean into my touch, "We both deserve a happy ending.. and I promise we're gonna get it." He pressed a kiss to my palm and placed his hand over mine.
The sound of the boat engine cut and we both looked out on the vast water. We were alone except for the stars in the sky. I slowly turned around in his arms and leaned my back against him, enjoying the view as he hugged me close, "You never finished opening your gifts.." He chuckled softly and I shrug, "Can I open them later?.. I just wanna enjoy this." I close my eyes and let him sway us as the music kept going.
I didn't know how long we stood there. It felt like seconds but the changing songs and the sounds of boats filling the water around us woke me from my mind as I looked up at Dion. His own eyes were closed as he kept swaying us, humming softly as his hand slowly rubbed my stomach.

"Baby." I call out softly and he opened one eye to look down at me, "Hm?" I laugh at his calmness, "Can we eat that dinner you got us?" His lips lifted into a smile as he opened both eyes, "Of course, love." He grabbed my hand and lead me back to our table before waving the waiter back over, "Dinner please." The water quickly nodded his head and disappeared.
I slowly slipped my heels off and laughed as Dion slipped his own shoes off, "My feet hurt too. Stiff ass leather." We both burst into more laughs as the waiter came back with sea food and sides. My eyes hungrily scanned our plates and I didn't notice Dion was watching me until he burst out laughing, "Go ahead and dig in. It's only us from now on." I didn't need to be told twice as I picked up a shrimp and happily popped it into my mouth.
My eyes rolled at how good it was, "Oh my.. this is so good!" I look to Dion who was tearing into a crab leg, "I made it myself... The rice, the greens, the mash potatoes, every thang." My eyes widen and he nodded his head proudly, "Took me a minute to learn how to make it but I'm a master now. Ain't nun I can't do for you." He smiled widely and I could help my big smile as I stood up and leaned over the table to give him a big kiss.
He met me half way as our lips met and we shared some spicy seasoning. We both laughed as we dug into our food. "Well I'm making our next date dinner. It's gonna be something real good." I nod my head as I break a crab leg. He smiles as he watches me, "You look so sexy tearin up that food.. Yo nails look good too." I laugh before wiping my hands clean and showing him my nails, "Aren't they?! They look so cute with this dress too!" I excitedly smile and he nods his head in agreement, "I cant wait to test them out." His pressed a kiss to my hand as his eyes locked with mine.
I could feel my cheeks warm as I looked back at my food, "We can definitely test them out tonight... If you want to." I peek back up at him and laugh as he excitedly nods his head, "Look at you.. A cute ass Wolverine.." He smiles and I laugh loud as I wave him off, "Shut uuup. I usually get them shorter but I think I love them long." I crack into another crab them and smoothly slide the meat out.
My mouth watered as I greedily dipped it in butter and brought it to my slips, sucking the meat right off. I could have moaned from the taste.
I look over at Dion who watched me carefully, "Do it again." He add one of his crab legs to my plate and I laugh as I open another one and French it in butter, this time giving it to him. He greedily took it just like me, making us both laugh.
"How you crack em like dat? Mine stay breakin.." He pouted as he tried it my way and broke the whole leg in half. I laugh and scoot my chair next to him as I taught him how to crack it right.
Soon we were both dining like kings as we tore up our food. We both were leaning back in our chairs with messy fingers as we laughed and talked about anything under the stars.
"Sir.. The countdown is in thirty seconds." The waiter appeared from nowhere once again, making me jump and laugh softly as he sent me a smile. I look to Dion who's face looks nervous, "You okay?" I gently wipe my hands before wiping his face, making him laugh, "I'm okay, baby.. Just follow me." He stood up and took my hand in his before carefully making me stand up. We walked to the side of the ship and he turned to face me, "I have something important to ask you." My eyes widened as he slowly lowered to one knee.
"In all my years of living, I have never met anyone as amazing, smart, beautiful, or as loving as you. I knew the moment I saw you that you were the perfect one for me and to this day I still can't believe you fell for me. Will you, Jocelyn Savannah Davis, Marry me?"
I could barely get a word out as my head nodded wildly, "Yes yes yes yes yes!" Tears ran down my cheeks as I held out my hand for him to place the ring. He smiled as he stood back up and placed a kiss on my lips. My arms wraps around his neck tight as I kissed him hard.
Fireworks exploded in the sky behind us as people cheered and bottles popped open. I barely listened as I focused on my future husband.
He gently broke the kiss as he laughed and turned me around for a picture. I knew my mascara was a mess and my face was red from how much I was crying but I smiled through it as I held up my ring finger and smiled for the picture.
"You're going to be my husband! You're all mine!" I scream excitedly and watch as he laughs and brings me in for a tight hug, "I was so nervous.. this feels amazing." He mumbled softly against my head as he held me as tight as he could.
I peek up at him, "Of course I would say yes. You should have gotten the dang hints, dummy!" I laughed through my tears a I stood back and looked at my ring again. It sparkles under the bright fireworks and I could have sobbed harder from how much I loved it.
Dion pressed a napkin against my wet cheeks as he laughed, "Jocelyn Savannah Miller." He said my name slowly and I could feel my heart stutter as I nodded my head, "My husband.. You're all mines.." I giggle as he pressed a kiss to my lips, "And you're all mines.."
Don't worry, we gettin a epilogue and cute scenes before I officially end the book. I just wanted to say thank you for all the support. :) it's been a nice run

The Loyal Ones [Dark Biopunk Fantasy]
TLDR; A slave monster survives horror, war and servitude, while trying to live with himself. Thralls are a race of monstrous slave soldiers, in a universe where biological magic takes the place of technology. Centuries ago, their ancestors were desperate humans, who volunteered to be transformed for the Poison War. Today their unfortunate descendants are still soldiers and laborers. In contract law they are 'corporate wards'; slaves owned largely by arms dealers. Dally Harper starts this story as a champion cage fighter. He is one of the 'lucky' ones. It's all downhill from there. Content Warning: Explicit violence and gore, slavery, implied sexual assault. None of these are framed as positive or glorified, however they do have a strong impact on the plot and main characters.
