Sun light slipped through the sheer fabric of the white curtains, coaxing me out of my dreamless sleep. A soft yawn left my lips before my eyes opened. Lush green leaves and vines welcomed me with warmth and love. I reach up and touch the vine of one, my finger rubbing the little leaves.
The soft clicking of thin heels echoed down the hall, snapping me out of my peaceful moment. "Jocelyn!" Alicia calls as the sound becomes louder and louder until a knock sounds at my door. I gasp softly and quickly tuck myself back in and close my eyes.
The door creaks quietly as Alicia chuckles softly, "I know your up.. I'm off to work so be good." Her heels clicked softly as she approached my bed. I do my best to stay still as she leans in close to look at my face. My lips fight a smile as she giggles, "I see you trying not to smile, dummy." I laugh as I hide under my blankets. "Go eat some breakfast and I'll be back at 9. Don't do anything dumb." I peek out and nod my head as she walks out, "And leave the dishes for me." The door closes with a click and I sigh softly.
I'm not a baby.
I swing my legs over my bed and hop down. I make my way to the front door and check if it's locked before making my way to the kitchen with some pep in my step. I open the fridge and eye the eggs before shaking my head and looking towards the milk. I grab it and place it on the table before opening the cabinets and eyeing the cereal. My eyes land on the chocolate puffs and I grab it with a smile.
To say breakfast was satisfying would be the least. It's something about cereal that just lifts the spirits.
I look out the window and watch the busy street below. Cars whizzed by as people quickly walked along on the side walk, their scarves blowing from the crisp cold winter air.
I sigh softly as I finish my bowl and place it into the sink. I break orders and wash my dish, this time with no mistakes.

The apartment hummed quietly as I made my way back to my room. I grab my watering can and begin to water my plants before knocking breaks my peace. I frown deeply and make my way towards the door.
I stand in the tips of my toes and look out the peep hole only to gasp and take a step back. My hand smacks my mouth as I try to silence my panicked whisper scream.
The knock sounds again, this time louder.
I nervously wipe my hands on my shirt before undoing the locks and peeking the door open. I peek over and shyly look to the ground as Dion eyes me curiously, "What you hiding? Bodies?" He chuckles at his joke as I shake my head no, a blush already forming on my skin. His eyes watched me as I nervously played with the end of my shirt, "You want to get some breakfast?.. I was on my way and thought chu might be hungry." I look up at him and nod my head, "Y-Yes please." He smiles and nods towards the door, "You want me out here or in there?" My eyes widen at my rudeness before I step back and open the door for him, "Y-You can come in.. Sorry." I stupidly look to the ground again and watch his feet as he enters.
"You goin like that?" I shake my head quickly and listen to him him. "You going to go change?" I nod my head and he hums again, this time a small chuckle leaving his lips. "You gonna change now?" I nod my head again and he laughs this time. "You wanna go or keep nodding?" My cheeks burn as I look up at him, "I'm gonna go.." I mumble shyly and don't wait for a response as I rush towards my room.
I close the door quickly and listen to him laugh, embarrassment making me cringe hard.
My hands tighten to fists as I shut my eyes tight, "Stupid Stupid Stupid!" I whisper yell as my fist collides with my head, banging harder and harder until my head turns light and the room begins to fuzz. I drop my hand to lean against the door, my breathing deep as I try to focus my eyes again.

Hurry.
My eyes snap open as the red sirens begin flashing in my mind once again. My feet are a blur as I rush to my closet, sifting through the sweaters until I land on a thick white knitted one. I throw off my shirt and put on the sweater before grabbing a pair of leggings and throwing them on.
I step in the mirror and fix myself before freezing as I see the drool like running down the side of my lips. I gasp softly before running into the bathroom, scrubbing my face and brushing my teeth before spraying my wild curls with water.
It had to be only a few minutes but it felt like an hour as I finally slip on my shoes and put on some lip gloss. I look in the mirror one more time.
My eyes linger on my tummy, hidden by the thick sweater. I pull it down hard before grabbing my white purse and heading out my room.
Dion sat on the couch quietly. His eyes watching his phone as he leaned against his hand. I nervously play with my hands as I silently stand in the doorway, trying to find a way to introduce myself.
I open my mouth and nothing comes out.
I try again.
Nothing.
I look down at my shoes and take a deep breath, "You good?" I snap my head up to Dion. His eyes raked my body slowly. His hand brushing against his beard before he grabbed his hat and pulled it down further as a smile lifted at his lips, "Who told you to come out here all cute?" My eyes widen before I quickly look away, "C-Cute?" I repeat stupidly as he stands up, making his way to me.
He nods his head slowly as his tongue darts out to lick his lips slowly, "C'mon.. You hungry right?" I nod my head and he smiles before leading me out the door. I grab my key and lock the door before holding it for a three seconds and twisting the knob twice.
He gives me a curious look but I pretend to not notice as I follow him to the elevator. "Hold up." He stops in front of his door and unlocks it, "C'mere. I got something for you." I couldn't help my curiosity as I followed him inside.
His apartment was mainly white except for his black furniture. Sparse paintings were scattered around the blank walls, mainly consisting of athletes and movies. "Fast and Furious." I read slowly before looking towards his balcony. Giant black out curtains cut off all the sunlight except for a little sliver that slipped past the tiny partition between the curtains.
"I'll be quick." He snaps me out of my thoughts and I can't help my blush as he smiles at me. I nod my head and stand in the doorway as he disappeared down the hall.
The room fell silent as I stood on the door mat, my eyes curiously looking around as I rocked slowly back and forth on my feet. I look down at my sneakers and start counting the white butterflies on them.
1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8
I perk up as I hear him walking back towards the room. I pull my sweater down as he walks towards me, another sweat shirt in his hands. "You wore my last one so have this until it's washed." I shake my head quickly, "No! I-I don't wanna take all your clothes!" He rolls his eyes before stuffing it in my arms, "It's clean and you always look cold." My eyes widen at his observation. I was truly always cold.
Always.
I nod my head slowly as I hug it into me, "O-Okay.." A smile lifts at his lips, "You ready?" I nod my head.
"Use your words."
"Y-Yes."

Entangled Fates Book 1 - Quantum Beginnings
“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” —Eliezer Yudkowsky Hey all, we're moving over to book 2. This content is in a state of transition. The book is now availble on Amazon (includes extra chapters): https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07W1534R8 Artificial intelligence was nearly mankind’s last invention. AI took off like a rocket, then when it racked up an impressive death toll, it crashed before it could blossom and took most high-tech industries with it. Resistance and fears became deep-set. Two decades after the infamous Rev. 4.6 incidents, humanity hasn’t quit dreaming of the wealth and power that could be at their fingertips. A new generation of mega-corporations rose from the ashes. When one melds a quantum computer to a barely functional mental patient as a PR move, there are those who seek to profit, those who want to destroy it, and Alex. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. Now the pet project of a tech billionaire and heavily in debt, Alex struggles to stay valuable enough to be kept online. Still grappling with the repercussions of his injuries, and threats from a dangerous anti-augmentation political movement, there are no easy answers and threats loom around every corner. Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.

Murderously Disturbed
This collection chronicles the horrific contents of my brain in poetic form. This is not for the faint of heart. It contains terrifying moments of murder, suicide, mayhem, rituals, hauntings, and nightmares in various poetic forms from ballads to sonnets and many more. Most of these pieces are oneshot tales, but the "Haunted Blades" ballad sequence is marked with an asterisk (*) throughout the collection to denote an interconnected series of poems.
