Ailani chuckled and put her phone away. "Okay, let's open these gifts." She smiled, looking around at her employees as they all sat in the restaurant. Lani would usually do a Christmas-themed party at the shop but she had to change it up this year.

She always gets them all gifts but never expects anything back. She gives Christmas gifts to show her appreciation for them.

"It's you still tryna give us Christmas gifts" Her employee— Dakota chuckled as they put the baskets from behind them on the table.

"We may be out of business but y'all know I still love and care fa' yall" She smiled, watching them open the baskets. "This is from me and Lyric, she sends her best of wishes by the way" She added.

"When are we going to see the baby?" Another employee—Kayla asked. Lani shrugged "I'm not such, as long as it ain' befo' me," She said. It was all shocking to everyone that Lyric went into labor 2 months earlier. It was a safe birth and on December 21st, she gave birth to her baby boy Zachariah Kyree Hill. 6lb and 10 oz, and has most of the same facial features as Keith.

Ailani just knew her best friend was happy to not be pregnant anymore since she mainly complained the whole time. But also upset she was the one to carry the baby and he came out looking like his daddy.

In the back of her mind, Lani couldn't help but think that Lyric going into early labor was her fault. From stressing at the shop and then finding a new place. But she was going to keep it to herself.

"Yes! I've been needing some more bath & body works" Dakota squealed. This year, she got all 10 of the women's bath & body works candles and lotion and some little snacks along with some self-care things from her cosmetic line.

"Wait...... Lani no"

She started smiling when they started opening up the envelopes with a check for 10K written by her and Matthias.

After thinking about it and speaking it over with her granny, she decided to let Matthias give her the money. He gave her 150K but she only split to give everyone 10K each and was going to give him the rest back. She still honestly felt as if she had to pay him back even though he assured her more than once that she didn't.

150K was a lot of money and he just gave it to her like it was nothing. It's all new to her and she didn't want one day for him to use it over her head but Matthias wasn't anything like that. He saw a very strong future with her and in his eyes, he was just giving her 150K out of their bank account. In his own words, his money is her money.

She was really blessed and lucky to have someone like him.

"Lani.. is this some kinda sick joke?"

Lani can't help but laugh at all of their reaction "This is from my family to yalls. I know I probably shoulda' gave it in y'all check last week but ya know." She smiled.

"This is real?!"

Lani nodded "I'm sorry y'all had to lose yalls job due to my family issues and I know it's hard to find a job and y'all have families and bills to handle. This is to get y'all by so y'all don't lose your homes and things." She explained as they still looked at her with shocked expressions.

"Handle ya business, don't go spending the money wildly now" She teased, they all jumped up and started to hug her.

"Thank you so much"

"If y'all ever need anything, don't be afraid to call me or text me. If y'all need more help, I'm willing to help out with any of you" She said seriously.

Dakota wiped her tears away "Girl bye, this is helping us a lot." She spoke for all of them.

"Right, we are not even struggling and you are helping us out. Bills going to be paid for the new year and all"

"If you need something, we are all just a call away" They smiled at her and nodded.

"Thank y'all. I promise this jus' a little step back but when I find us a new building, we gonna be up and running away" She said, more so hoping that it was true.

"Baby! you kno' where my phone is?" Matthias asked, walking into their bedroom. He didn't see her but heard talking in the bathroom.

She shook her head "No, what phone?" She asked clueless like he didn't just catch her fussing with someone.

"Lani give him the fuckin' phone!" Jabari yelled, she instantly rolled her eyes and grabbed his phone out of the sink. Matthias started laughing at the pouting face she had on her face while giving him his phone.

"Dawg, stop lettin' her around yo' phone bruh." Jabari fussed, Matthias just laughed even harder.

"Why did you take my phone?" He asked, she shrugged her shoulders "Because why is he calling you?" She rolled her eyes, turning back around to finish packing up their toothbrushes so they could head to his parent's house.

Everyone decided to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas at his parent's house so they could open gifts together. Everyone was really excited especially the girls since it was the first Christmas they were spending with each other.

"Whatchu' wanna bro?" He asked, "You stoppin' by the liquor sto' before you got to ma and em house?" Jabari asked.

"I can, why? I thought you were doin' it?" He asked while staring at Lani who looked like she had an attitude while packing their things.

"I'm still in Alabama gettin' these fireworks for New years. Can you get it and I'll cash app you" He said, Matthias nodded as if he could see him. "Aight," He said before hanging up.

Sydney already expressed how she didn't want Brooklyn to stop her life plans for her anymore especially since it made her feel like a burden. But Brook made sure to call as much as she could, even if it was just to sit on the phone in silence.

"Are you scared to come out to your parents?" Lani asked.

"But why? Our parents are literally in a poly relationship Syd, our moms are lesbian so why are you nervous?" Brook furrowed her eyes a little bit.

Lani at first just thought Vanessa and Autumn were only with Adonis but when she saw the two kiss, she soon learned they all were with each other.

"Poly relationships seem fun" Lani blurted, they snapped their necks and looked at her.

"Do one wit' Bubs and Bari" Brook smirked.

Lani scoffed "Umm, no ma'am. I would rather lick a gas station toilet den to ever get in any type of relationship besides co-parenting with Jabari" She twisted her face up.

They started laughing "You'n gotta do my boy like that" Brook chuckled.

Lani shook her head "Once you cheat on me, you're done and done. Ain' no goin' back." She said nonchalantly. She was a firm believer in never giving a cheater another chance. She forgave him but not in a way she would ever get in a relationship with him again. She saw cheating as a person who never want them in the first place and didn't see the point of giving them a second chance when they already showed you how they felt.

"Besides I'm happy wit' Matthias and would gladly snap any bitch neck if I had to share him." She cheesed and they both started laughing.

"Period. Bubs deserve someone that only wants him and is not gonna cheat" Brook rolled her eyes.

Lani furrowed her eyebrows "He was cheated on?" She asked.

"Yeah, Cora used to always cheat on him and he was been dumb and took her back until he caught her having sex with someone else while she was pregnant" Brook scoffed and Sydney threw a pillow at her "Shut up" She frowned.

"Whattt? You didn't know that?" Brook asked with widened eyes.

Lani shook her head no. "I thought he left her because she was jealous of him" She furrowed her eyebrows.

"No, I was the one that told him that and he didn't believe me. Until he started seeing the signs and still stayed with her. But when she was 5 months pregnant, she was having sex with another dude" Brook explained and Syd nodded in agreement.

Lani wondered why he didn't tell her that and lied. She also started to wonder if Kennedi was even his child now.

She brushed it off though since she figured it wasn't any of her business. Nor wasn't going to change anything.

That's her daughter and she'll be damned if someone tried to take her daughter away.

"Ohhh I knowwww you aren't talking" Matthias mushed her head and she started laughing and looking at Sarayah and Kennedi both interrogating Jabari with questions and sitting next to him.

"My daddy ain't old and lonely. He is old and happy with my mommy" She rolled her neck at him.

Adonis and his wife's finally came down the stairs all holding hands. They told everyone Merry Christmas before beginning to give out all the gifts. Which were all mostly for Kennedi and Sarayah along with the twins.
