"She suffered a diffuse axonal which is a type of head injury that's very common in car accident. But, because she's so little and the powerful impact the truck had on her side, it exerted her head and brain. Her brain stem is very delicate since it haven't grew much yet and the fibers started to tear and shear. There's a possibility that she would be in this coma for about two to four weeks."
Wesley nodded his head as the doctor explained the incident to them. Wesley, Jayla and Jahseh were all in Miracle room. Jahseh sat beside her bedside, holding Miracle hand and rubbing it. He refused to let go of her hand and to leave her side. He wanted to be here whenever she woke up and he hoped she woke up soon.
"Is there anything we can do?" Jayla asked the doctor and the man shook his head.
"There's nothing we can do besides wait and see. We will monitor her brain very often to make sure everything is stabled. If we see that she's brain dead, we will have to take matters into our own hands and pull the plug." The doctor answered, Jahseh quickly looking at the man.
"We're not pulling the fucking plug." He said aggressively catching the white doctor off guard. His face started to get red at the slight embarrassment.
"Jahseh..." Wesley called his name. He knew his emotions were taking over him, but he wanted him to be respectful.
"I'm sorry, but that's not a decision at all. This is my sister and your a doctor, your suppose to do everything to help your patients. You let a little black girl die in your care and I'll make sure you don't have a career anymore and I put that on my brothers grave." Jahseh told him in a nonchalant tone. He kept a mug on his face, the doctor nodding his head.
"R-R-Right..." he stammered over his words. "We're going to do everything in our power to make sure your sister is fine." He told him.
A knock came from the door then it opened, a nurse walking in. "Umm, there's a woman here. She said she's here to see Miracle, can she come in?" The nurse asked.

Wesley and Jayla look at each other, "Yes, she can come in." Wesley answered. The nurse nodded her head then stepped out.
Jahseh stare at the door waiting for whoever to walk in. Once the door opened again, he seen her come in looking like her regular self. He kept his eyes on her, stunned and even surprised.
"We'll leave you guys alone. I'll be back to change on her." The doctor told them before walking out the room with the nurse.
The room was silent and they all stood there. "We should leave them, Jayla. It's nice to see you again Beth." Wesley finally spoke breaking the silence.
"Nice to see you too." Beth spoke lowly, giving him a small smile. Wesley and Jayla both got up then headed out the room, leaving the son and daughter alone.
Beth turned her attention to Jahseh who was still looking at her. She gave him a smile, happy to see her son after so long.
"Hi, honey." She greeted him.
"Uhh, hi." He said back still stunned it see her all healthy looking. "Am I suppose to hug you?" he asked.
"If you want to." She told him, a smile still on her face. Jahseh got up from his seat, walking to her. Beth opened her arms wide letting Jahseh in her arms. She hugged him tightly, Jahseh wrapping his arms around her skinny body.
Their hug lasted for a while, the two of them not wanting to let go of the other. This was the first time in years they were able to hug each other. The first time Jahseh was able to be in her presence without the misery of seeing her sick. She was healthy, her skin looking rich and fine. She had lost lots of weight, but she was still holding up.
Finally pulling away from each other, Beth cuffed Jahseh face. She stare into his eyes, a smile growing on Jahseh face.
"I miss you so much." Beth finally spoke, rubbing her thumbs against his smooth cheeks.
"I miss you too." He said back, her voice slightly cracking. He cleared his throat, "I miss you so much mom." he repeated.
Beth eyes started to water as she stare at him. This was a moment she had been waiting for and she knew he had been waiting too.

She let out a sigh, "Umm, I'm not sure if you wanted me here, but I came after my sister told me what happened. I knew I had to come see my daughter..." she paused looking over at Miracle who laid on the bed. Many tubes were connected to her body made Beth eyes water.
She sniffled wiping her face, "I'm so sorry, Jahseh. I'm so sorry for leaving you, making your life terrible. I didn't mean to and I know you hate me because of it. I understand why and I know I messed up as your mother and a person. I hate myself for what I did and I apologize for everything. You don't deserve anything that happened to you. You don't deserve any of this." she apologized, tears rolling down her cheeks.
She was upset about everything that she had done. From not protecting him from his father to leaving him all alone. She could only imagine how much hurt he experienced since she's been gone. Now, she was back and was hoping for a change.
She wanted her son back.
She wanted her family back.
"You might hate me and I don't blame you, Jahseh. I just want to make things right between us. Your my son and I love you so much. I gotten myself together and I plan to make things right, only if you let me." She continued.
Jahseh stare at his mom, listening to the things she said. Just looking at her, he could tell she was getting herself some help and he was happy about that. He did want his mom back, but he feared one and only thing. He feared she'll fall back into drugs and leave him again and he didn't want that.
He wanted everything to be back to normal and with his mom here, that'll be the case. He just had his doubts.
"I love you mom, but how do I know you won't leave me again?" He asked, wiping her tears with his thumb.
"I really want everything to go back to normal, but I fear you'll leave me. I don't want to go through all the stuff I went though, I'm doing somewhat good and I want to keep it that way." He told her and Beth nodded her head.
"I know honey, I know and I don't want to interfere. I promise I'm getting better just for the two of y'all. I'm going to be here, I won't leave you." She told him truthfully, but Jahseh was still having his doubts.
Could he trust her not to leave?
"Oh my fucking gosh!" Cory shouted at the top of his lungs. He shook his head, continuing to play 2K on his PlayStation.
Brittney walked in the bedroom quietly. Cory kept shouting at his game, unaware of his girlfriend that came in the room.
"Cory..." she called out trying to get his attention, but she spoke lowly. He ignored her still focusing on his game.
Brittney cleared her throat, walking to him. "Cory!" She shouted, snatching the controller out his hand. Cory look over at her then smack his lips.
"Bro, gimme my shit." He spoke aggressively, snatching his controller back from her. Brittney roll her eyes then stood in front of the tv.
"Cory, I need-"
"Get the fuck out the way." He cut her off, pushing her roughly out the way. Brittney almost tripped, but stayed on her feet.
She stare at Cory who refused to look her way. She felt the urge to cry, but didn't do so. Without saying anything, she walked out his room. Heading down the hall, she went back in the bathroom and shut the door behind her. After locking it, she slide down the wall and sat on the floor. Bringing her legs to her chest, she place her forehead on her knees and started crying her eyes out. She had just found out the most terrifying thing ever.
She was pregnant.
