months later...
"If this shit don't hurry up." Heaven mugged, watching the nebulizer machine start blowing air through the mask. She put it over her face, and sat down on the couch in her bedroom.
"Mommy look I broke truck." Daloni said, showing Heaven the truck that he had just destructed.
"And that my dear is why I'm not buying you anymore." Heaven chuckled, removing the mask for a split second to reply to him. She vowed that she wouldn't buy him any more toys until he learned how to take care of them.
"I play ball." Daloni stated, pulling the fake baseball out of his pocket.
Daloni leaned on Heaven's leg while he talked about nothing in particular. Heaven scrolled down her instagram timeline seeing Zylin post a picture of Nevaeh.

"Papa can you go get mommy water?" Heaven asked, sliding the mask over to talk.
"I go get the water." Daloni nodded, running away as his curls bounced every which way. Heaven was teaching him to be more independent, so she allowed for him to help her do some things.
Daloni got his favorite step stool and pushed it in front of the refrigerator. He aggressively opened the door to the first part of the refrigerator where all of the water bottles were. "Mommy I got water!" He yelled.
"Ok, bring it to me." She shouted back, taking herself off the breathing treatment before it was even done.
After the incident, Heaven was in ICU for three months. The knife had just missed her liver, but damaged lots of tissues and her small intestines. Her lungs were also mildly bad, due to the smoke inhalation. Every day she had to take a breathing treatment and she was on three different medications to control her breathing and headaches. On top of that she had to walk around with an inhaler, along with Daloni.
Daloni ran back into his mom's room with the cold bottle of water.
"Thank you. Can you go put your shoes on?" She said, putting the nebulizer machine back under her bed. She hated having the breathing machine in the house, but she knew it helped her breathing.
"No." Daloni shrugged.
"Don't you wanna see Vaeh?" Heaven frowned, slipping her yeezy tennis shoes on, along with the matching cardigan.
"No." Daloni shrugged again, smashing the already broken truck into the floor.
"Well I'm about to go. See you later." Heaven replied, matching his energy. She grabbed her MCM purse and left him in the room by himself.
"No mommy I go too." He whined, now realizing that he was about to by by hiself.
"Then go get your shoes and put them on papa." Heaven chuckled, opening the water bottle and taking a sip.
Daloni trudged to his room and grabbed the first shoes he saw. One right blue croc, and one left white air force one. He put the right croc on the left foot, and the left air force one on the right foot.
He grabbed his spider man figures and slammed his door shut. He was always so rough with things. When he came back into Heaven's view she frowned at how crazy he looked.
"Papa that's not right. You look crazy." She stated, going to his room herself to get his other blue croc. Daloni was very lazy and only wanted to do things when he wanted to. That's why he always got a timeout.

She helped him fix his shoes and then went to the refrigerator to grab his cup that had water mixed with sprite. Daloni never knew the difference.
They then went inside of the garage to get to the car. Heaven had moved thirty minutes out of Chicago. The fresh start was needed. She only went to Chicago to visit Solana, Nevaeh, or Jayda and Angel.
She had got a new job at a pediatric oncology clinic, and although the took a small pay cut she still loved her job. Heaven was planning on opening her own pediatric clinic up, so she was taking the proper steps to get it done.
Nobody knew Heaven's address besides Jayda, Cane, and Zylin. They were the only three who were allowed to come over. She was very paranoid, so she didn't want everyone having her address.
"Mommy you say Spider Man?" Daloni asked, while she buckled him into the car seat.
"Yes baby." Heaven mumbled, frowning at the fact that somehow Daloni's booster seat was deattached from the seatbelt.
"I say no spider man, bad boy!" Daloni yelled.
Heaven chuckled, closing the door on Daloni so that he was left talking to himself. She jogged around to the driver side of her new Range Rover and hopped in.
~
"Hi baby, you only have less than one week left, how you feeling?" Heaven cheesed, when Solana happily walked into the visitation room.
"I feel happy, I'm so ready to leave." Solana grinned.
Solana was finally being released from the institution in four days. It had took longer than expected, but Solana felt happier than she ever was in life. Her nurses and psychiatrist were so proud of her improvement.
"I'm so proud of you, you are a living testimony." Heaven smiled, sitting down with Solana.
"Hey you are too. I owe you my life Heaven, thank you for everything." Solana said.
"You don't owe me anything Solana. You being here with me is enough. You beat the most traumatic events anyone could ever go through. I'm just grateful that you never gave up."
Solana smiled, feeling the tears blur her eyes. The tears of joy was letting her know that she had done a great job. "I'm so ready to start living life." She chuckled, wiping at her face.
"Tell me what you want to do first." Heaven said.
"Wait can I still live with you, I know I said I'm better, but I—Of course babe, you have your own room at my place. You don't have to worry about that." Heaven cut her off, before she started to get worked up.
"Well first, I want a real meal. I'm so tired of the food here, it is disgusting. I haven't had a real meal in I don't know how long." Solana stated.
Heaven giggled. "What you thinking?"
"Chicken, steak, burgers, seafood, mac and cheese, white rice, collard greens, maybe some oxtails, mashed potatoes, and broccoli with cheese." Solana named off, making Heaven's mouth drop.
"Yeah, so I'm just gone find somebody to cater all that because that's a lot." Heaven laughed.
Solana burst into laughter at Heaven's facial expressions.
"Okay. Well I want to maybe start the hair class. But I only want to do it if I can have like one-on-ones. I don't think I'm ready for a full class right now." Solana stated, fiddling with her fingers under the table. She always played with her fingers or bit her fingers out of habit.
"Okay, I'll look some places up. Remember there's no rush in meeting any new people, do whatever makes you comfortable." Heaven replied.

"What else would you like to do?" Heaven asked.
"This is one of my long-term goals, but when I get better better in like a couple of years, I wanna adopt a baby girl." Solana smiled shyly.
Heaven grinned, honestly surprised at what Solana had just said. "Care to elaborate?" She asked.
"Well um, m—my baby was snatched away from me because some girls were jealous. I dont think I'd ever want to carry another baby in my stomach, but I want to adopt to give a baby the love I wanted to give my first child." Solana explained.
"And I believe that one day you'll be an exceptional mama." Heaven seriously said, grabbing Solana's hand.
"Really?" Solana sniffled.
"Yep, I think that you'll do everything in your power to protect your child from the pain that you went through. I think that you'll give her the love that your parents didn't."
"Do you think my disorders will still be around?" Solana asked.
Solana was diagnosed with severe PTSD along with mild anxiety and depression. She still had nightmares, but they were very rare. Her psychiatrist told her that with continuous counseling and managing her medicine, that she would be fine.
"Even if they are, I know you won't let them hold you back. Life is all about trial and error, so if you feel like you're failing, find a way to recover." Heaven stated.
"You're the best big sister ever, I love you forever." Solana pouted.
"Aww I love you more. Forever and always." Heaven smiled, reaching across the table to wipe Solana's face.

"Mommy when you was gone, papa flipped the bird." Nevaeh told, as soon as Heaven walked in the door with their happy meals.
"Daloni!" Heaven shouted, with a small mug. She had allowed for Cane to watch Daloni one day, and she already knew that Cane was behind it all.
"Here, go eat, where your dad?" Heaven gave Nevaeh her happy meal box walking more into Zylin's new house. He had moved into a white neighborhood, around twenty minutes away from the old neighborhood.
"He outside with Uncle Kelson and D." Nevaeh replied.
Daloni slowly walked in the living room with his hands behind his back and his lips tucked in his mouth. He already knew he was in trouble.
"Don't look sad now, you want a pop pop?" Heaven asked, bending down to his level.
Heaven never laid a hand on Daloni, but she occasionally told him if he didn't get his act together that he would get a whooping. Most of the time it worked.
"No ma'am." Daloni shook his head, covering his face.
"No sir, put your hands down when I talk. You know better, right?" She spoke, taking his hands down.
"Right mommy." Daloni pouted.
"Don't ever do that again, you understand me?" Heaven asked, cupping his face with her hand.
"Yes ma'am." Daloni nodded. He reached to be picked up, now feeling sad that he was in trouble.
"No sir, go to the kitchen and eat." Heaven shook her head, handing him his happy meal box. Whenever she disciplined Daloni, she had to hold back from picking him up. He would think that he got his way, which is something she didn't want him to fall into.
Daloni slowly walked off with a slight mug ready to mug Nevaeh for telling on him. When he entered the kitchen he climbed on the bar stool and rolled his eyes at her. "Mean Vae."
"Wassup yall." Heaven announced walking into the backyard where Zylin and his two homeboys were. She still didn't like Derrick, but it wasn't her place to come between Zylin's friendships.
"Wassup, you taking them with you?" Zylin asked.
"Waddup Heav." Kelson nodded his head, while Derrick just stared at her.
"Yeah, did you have the conference with her teacher?" Heaven asked, sitting down on the futon couch next to Kelson.
"I thought you was gone do it." Zylin frowned.
"Zylin I told you to let me know if you couldn't make it. She can't go back to school unless one of us go up there to talk with her teacher." Heaven sighed.
"I texted you." Zylin said, pulling out his phone.
"No you didn't." Heaven shook her head, pulling out her phone as well.
"Oh shit I ain't press send." Zylin mumbled, now pressing the send button hearing the message go through to Heaven's phone.
"Really?" Heaven chuckled. "I'll go up there tomorrow." She shook her head.
Nevaeh had gotten suspended from school for telling her teachers that she was going to get Heaven to fight them, and she had cursed a student out.
Heaven and Zylin were not in a relationship, but they still had a friendly relationship for the sake of the kids. Heaven needed time to work on herself overall, and Zylin admitted that he needed time to work on himself as well.
"He my daddy!" Nevaeh yelled.
"Mine too!" Daloni shouted.
Nevaeh brushed past Daloni stomping outside with the adults. "Daddy ain't you mine?" She asked.
"No my daddy." Daloni pushed Nevaeh, to run to Zylin.
"Well my mommy." Nevaeh smirked, sitting down in Heaven's lap.
"No mines." Daloni mugged, quickly getting down from Zylin's arm to run to Heaven.
"Y'all got some bad ass kids." Kelson chuckled.
"Go get your stuff, we about to go." Heaven giggled, kissing Nevaeh's cheek.
Nevaeh ran in the house, with Daloni hot on her heels. A couple of weeks ago, Daloni started calling Zylin daddy, and every since then the kids had been fighting over both parents.
"Why Bullet staring at me like I did him some?" Heaven frowned, bucking at the dog.
The dog barked at Heaven, and then layed down on the ground. Heaven wasn't scared of the dog anymore, mainly because he was just a big baby unless you provoked him.
"Where y'all about to go?" Derrick asked.
"Don't know." Heaven shrugged, keeping it simple and short. "Zy can I talk to you?"
Zylin followed behind Heaven back into the house, both of them ignoring the kids scream at each other. "Wassup?"
"I don't like Derrick." Heaven stated
"What he do?"
"I just don't like his vibes. He's weird and he always staring." Heaven admitted, crossing her arms over her chest. This was her first time telling Zylin how she felt about Derrick.
"I'll watch dude." Zylin nodded, leaning on the wall to get a full look at Heaven. He was still very much attracted to her, and he couldn't hide it.
"I'm serious Zylin." Heaven whined.
"I am too. I hear you. Where you finna go?" Zylin replied.
"Home, don't forget about the party." Heaven replied, walking away knowing that he was staring at her.

[SI/OC Third Shinobi War]Well fought and well done. All of us fight as one. It took me three years to be able to properly read the faded out kanji of the flimsy poster that I keep in my back pocket. The illustration is colourful, bright reds and yellows. Colours that would definitely catch the attention of a child. The poster was carefully placed along the walls and fences of my village, level with the height of a four year old. I thought enlisting to become a Shinobi was a heroic deed, something I needed to do to save my family from poverty and to serve my country at the cusp of war. Then I graduated early to be deployed to the front lines.I am sadly and sorely mistaken. Warnings:Slow-burnNO OP-NESSRomance? What romance? It'll take at least 40 chapters or more before anything romantic happens.Realistic depictions of War from a child's perspectiveBlood and goreChild SoldiersPTSDRealistic character developmentTragedy. A lot of tragedy. Critiques much appreciated!
