《Heaven Warrior》seven

Heaven sat on her balcony smoking her second blunt that she had rolled. She used to smoke everyday but she had stopped since she started working at the hospital. She was so stressed that she had pre rolled six blunts hoping that all of them would numb her pain.
Jayda constantly called her but kept getting the voicemail. Heaven didn't want to talk to anybody at the moment. Cane had excused her from work for the next two days to cope with everything.
Easy on me by Adele flowed through her penthouse while her phone repeatedly played a video of her and Daloni making a big lego castle. All she wanted to hear was his giggles when he accidentally knocked it over.
When the video's volume dimmered for a second she knew somebody had texted her. Sighing, she picked it up to see a contact that actually put a small smile on her face. His contact was Zy 😚
Just checking on you, Jay told me everything. If you need company let me know..i'm here for you Heaven.
Her fingers danced above her phone screen as she read his message. Honestly she wasn't expecting to hear from Zy. Even though they had just met two days before, both of them were nervous to text each other.
Heaven wanted his company but she didn't want him to know where she stayed just yet. Even though he seemed trustworthy, she never let her guard down.
It was like he was reading her mind because Zylin sent another message through. I just shared my
location, if you want to come over just let me know so I can buzz you in.
Deciding not to text back she stood and ashed her blunt out. Walking back into her penthouse, she instantly relaxed at the vanilla and cinnamon scent that roamed her house. Heaven loved candles, she wanted to be one.
Going into her bathroom she turned the knob to her shower to the hottest temperature. If the water wasn't the devil's territory she didn't want it. That's the only way she felt clean. While her water steamed up she went to her closet to pick out a simple outfit.
Now getting in the shower she went in with her Dove's bar soap. Bar soap gave a different lather than a liquid soap. After she scrubbed herself with the bar soap lather, she went in with her Coconut body wash. It was light and refreshing. She wasn't really into fruity smells. She liked to smell either refreshing or sweet. Lastly she exfoliated with her body scrub making sure to get every part of her body.
After she rinsed, she wrapped herself in a towel and washed her face with a aloe vera scrub and warm water. Her hair would stay in the messy ponytail and she wouldn't wear any makeup. The only time she really wore makeup was when she performed.
Now done with her hygiene and putting on her clothes, she packed her a bag just in case she fell asleep at Zylin's house. She would keep it in the car, she didn't want to look like she came to spend the night.
Making sure her candles were blew out and her balcony door was locked, she turned all of the lights and music off and left the penthouse. She went straight to the elevator which took her straight to her car.
"Shoulda wore socks." Heaven mumbled when the breeze ran over her feet. Getting in the car the air immediately came on along with her gas light. "Damn it." She groaned.

She looked at how many miles she could make it and shrugged. "I'll do it tomorrow."
Now on the way to Zylin's house, she rode in silence. For some reason butterflies swarmed her stomach. She couldn't understand why he made her so nervous. She didn't know if it was a good thing or bad thing.
Surprisingly Zylin only lived six minutes away. His one-story house sat on a small hill with a black gate surrounding it. She was suprised to see a big black pit bull guarding his door. Texting him that she was outside, he buzzed her in and stood outside to wait for her.
Zylin didn't even know she was coming because she read his message. He liked that she kept him on his toes. When Heaven got out of the car, he started running his hand through his waves. She was beautiful in loungewear. She was beautiful natural. It was a plus for him.
Heaven chuckled seeing Zylin stand in place. "Hey Zylin." She said, now standing in front of him.
"Damn it Heaven, you be having a nigga stuck." Zylin chuckled, pulling her in for a hug. She happily hugged him back smelling the Dove's men body wash on his skin.
"I don't be doing nothing." Heaven replied as they pulled away. They both ignored the big black pit bull that growled and barked at Heaven.
Bullet was a pitch black pit bull with orange eyes. His chest was very buff and broad and he was trained to attack intruders or any threats to Zylin or his home. Bullet could rip someone's arm off in a blink.
"Relax Bullet!" Zylin commanded. As soon as Heaven walked past the dog he growled and was about to charge at Heaven. She accidentally stepped back about to fall backwards before Zylin catched her.
"Bullet ease." Zylin yelled. He and Heaven had finally gotten in the house as Bullet still barked at the door. Bullet thought that everybody was a threat to Zylin.
"He's very protective." Heaven chuckled.
She turned around and was suprised to see the house so nice and neat. She was expecting to see black walls and curtains but the house was decorated royal blue and white. There were pictures on the walls and mirrors on the ceiling.
"I hope you don't mind the smell, I was smoking before you texted." He mentioned. Heaven definitely smelled the weed mixed with a cherry smell.
"No it's fine, I was too. I actually brought two with me." Heaven shrugged, going to sit on the royal blue couch. The couch was soft and cushy. Not to mention that it was 12,000.
"Do you mind if I spark up?" She asked.
"Make yourself comfortable, I'm about to go get my tray. There's water in the fridge, pantry is full of snacks." Zylin replied, walking backwards to his room. Zylin only had a three bedroom house. The only person who stayed there was him and his niece Naveah when she wasn't with his mom. He would get a bigger house when he got a family but for now a three bedroom was enough.
Heaven wasted no time sparking up her blunt and taking a pull. Zylin came back with his tray that had four grams on it. He was about to roll but when he seen the perfectly rolled blunt that Heaven was hitting he objected against.
"Here." Heaven offered.
Zylin happily took the blunt and inhaled taking a long pull. When he exhaled he caught Heaven staring at him. He chuckled and turned to face her. "What you do today?" He asked.

"This." Heaven mumbled. Part of her was disappointed. She had worked so hard to stop smoking so much but she was so stressed that weed was the only thing to keep her sane.
"What about you?" She asked, slipping her slides off and putting her feet under her butt. Zylin caught a glimpse of her small toes that were painted a blush purple.
"I had to pick my niece up from cheer and then take her to my moms. Just been chilling since." Zylin shrugged. Zylin was a tattoo artist and a photographer. His schedule was sometimes hectic but most of the time he was chilling.
"How old is your niece?" Heaven asked taking another pull from the blunt.
"She's thirty in a six year old body." Zylin scoffed. He could admit Nevaeh gave him the blues, but he loved her to pieces. He was the light to his world just how Daloni was to Heaven's.
Heaven let out a loud laugh. "Im sure she's not that bad. All you have to do is let her get her way and you'll be fine." She shrugged. Zylin frowned and looked at Heaven.
"And that's why she like that. Everybody tell me that." Zylin said. "That li girl be asking me what time I'm coming home and all, like she my mama or some."
"Period as she should, you not grown." Heaven giggled.
"So you adopted her? Where are her parents?" Heaven asked, hoping that she wasn't being too intruding.
"Her mama which is my sister is strung out. Her dad doesn't know she exists. Nevaeh was only one when they found her in my sister apartment screaming. Neighbors said she had been screaming for days. My sister had ran off with her crack friends. Judge granted me custody, my mom has partial. Vaeh call me her dad that's all she know me as." Zylin shrugged. When he was done Heaven lips were in a pouted stance.
"No offense, some people just don't deserve kids." Heaven mumbled.
"Nah you right. That's why I'm picky about who I lay down with. I don't wanna slip up with nobody who ain't fit to be my child's mother." Zylin stated. Zylin only had three bodies, he was very particular about his women. He made sure him and the girl always got tested before they did anything.
"I respect it. Not to many men have the same mentality as you. Guys are literally knocking women up and leaving them. To me it's childish." Heaven added on. That's why she hated dealing with men, most of them were plain ignorant.
"I'm taking care of my seeds. Takes two to make one." Zylin chuckled. The room had got silent as the two took turns pulling from the blunt. Zylin wanted to ask about Daloni but he wanted to wait until Heaven was ready.
Heaven had took a long drag and sighed. She laid her head back on the back of the couch and closed her eyes. "Daloni is turning five next Tuesday. He doesn't have any family but me. He's been battling cancer for a while now, started in his bones then traveled to his lungs now his brain."
She felt the tears coming so she took a break. Zylin watched as her bottom lip trembled, wanting so badly to just hold her. He knew she needed it bad. He ignored his nerves and scooted closer to Heaven throwing his arms around her. He felt Heaven relax in his arms followed by sniffles.
"The state stopped paying for his insurance so his treatments were gonna be stopped. The hospital was gonna dump him back into the system. I was against the whole idea so I payed for the remainder of his treatments. Somehow my boss was angry and called the board for me to be fired. They threw it out of the window and understood where I was coming from. I-"
Tears fell out of her eyes as one of her legs shook vigorously.
"Take your time." Zylin said softly now rubbing her arms. He held her a little tighter for more comfort. Sometimes a hug could fix a lot. That was Nevaeh's love language.
"H-He coded yesterday for the first time and it was like my heart stopped beating right along with his. I prayed so hard for him to just come back to me. God heard me because they had found a pulse. Doctor had to intubate him, we all knew he would keep coding without it."
"Before they did they allowd me to talk to him. I asked if he could fight just a little longer." Zylin took one of his hands and wiped one of her cheeks.
"He told me he was tired Zylin. A four year old told me he was tired of fighting. I told him I loved him and he said it back. That's when he called me mommy for the first time." Heaven ended now in a full blown cry session.
Zylin was glad that he was holding her. Heaven sobbed loudly in his chest as both of her legs trembled. For some reason Heaven felt like she was safe, she felt secure. Something she hadn't felt in years.
"I'm trying so hard to be strong for him Zy." She said through her cries.
"Little man a soldier. No lie, I can't sit up here and tell you that's it's gone be okay, because it's not. He's not okay and you're not okay. One thing y'all have in common is the love y'all share for each other. Nobody can deny that."
"If he dies, he'll take a part of me with him." Heaven whispered, interrupting Zylin. "But I know he'll be a . The strongest one up there."
