《Heaven Warrior》five

Still trappin by Lil Durk was the first thing that Heaven heard when she circled around the block of the address that Jayda had sent her for the barbecue. There was a good amount of people on the streets just walking around vibing.
Heaven found a parking spot in an empty lot and hoped that her car would be there when she got back. She texted Jayda to come get her so that she wouldn't walk in by herself.
Even though she was a stripper, sometimes she still got nervous in front of people that she didn't know. While she had met Jayda's parents and immediate family, she had never met her godbrother.
Jayda knocked on Heaven's window with a red cup in one of her hands. She was already tipsy. "Girl you look good, why you said you had nothing to wear?" She chuckled.
"Becausee I just didn't know what to wear." Heaven giggled. Everytime Heaven went somewhere she always whined that she had nothing to wear. In reality she had two closets full of clothes, shoes, hats, purses, and accessories.
"Ok miss dramatic." Jayda laughed. She grabbed Heaven's hand and walked them back to the actual house that the party was at. Her godbrother had rented a big airbnb because he did not want everyone at his home.
"Mama look who I got to come." Jayda smirked, nudging Heaven. Jayda's mom turned around and when she saw Heaven she quickly pulled her into a hug. Jayda's mom was a short and chubby woman who had long gray hair.
"I am mad at you. Why haven't you came and gotten a plate on Sundays?" The older woman asked. Every Sunday Mrs. Charlotte would make a dinner for Jayda and Heaven because she knew they were always busy with work.
"I'm sorry, I've been so exhausted and drained. I promise I'm coming next Sunday." Heaven pouted. Lola could throw down in the kitchen, she's the reason Jayda has a big butt.
"Mhm. Make sure you eat, it's plenty." Lola said, turning back around to get back into her conversation.
Jayda took Heaven out back to where all of the adults their age were. It was mostly her cousins and kids she grew up with laughing, eating, or playing cards.
"Hey y'all. This is my good friend Heaven. Heaven these are some of the heathens I call family." Jayda introduced. She was not about to go around and say everybody's name. It would take too long.
Everyone gave Heaven a warm greeting, some even stood up to introduce themselves with a hug. She immediately felt comfortable. Jayda's family was always so welcoming and wholesome.

"Where's Zy?" Jayda asked, referring to her godbrother. She really wanted her brother and friend to meet. She would definitely ship them together. It was just a matter of time.
"Vaeh fell so he went to get her knee cleaned up." Cadence, Jayda's cousin shrugged. Cadence wasn't blood to Jayda but they were best friends. They had been knowing each other since walking stages being that their mothers were best friends.
"You hungry?" Jayda asked Heaven.
"Very."
They both walked back into the airbnb and into the kitchen where there was pans of food on every single counter. Charlotte never let anyone cook for the family functions unless it was her. Nobody complained though.
"Stop running before you fall again!" A deep and loud voice yelled, making Heaven's stomach instantly feel with butterflies. Jayda smirked now happy that her godbrother was here.
Jayda had left for a moment to bring Zy into the kitchen, while Heaven continued fixing her plate. She hadn't had a good soul food meal in a while so she loaded up on plantains, rice, and shrimps. After deciding on a water for the time being she found her a spot in the corner to eat peacefully.
"Heav girl I was looking for you. I wanted to introduce you to somebody." Jayda stated, with her godbrother not to far behind her.
"This food so damn good, I needed to concentrate." Heaven chuckled, wiping her hands and mouth on her napkin.
"This is my godbrother Zy, Zy this is my good friend Heaven." Jayda cheesed, introducing the two.
When Zy looked up from his phone at Heaven they both made eye contact. Jayda smirked at how the two were looking at each other. She slipped away leaving them by theirselves.
"Damn." Zy said under his breath. "I'm Zylin, it's nice to meet you Heaven." He held his hand out, waiting for her to shake it.
Heaven snapped out of her trance and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you too. The party looks like it had a good turnout." She said, trying not to make things awkward.
She just couldn't get over his chocolate skin, the deep dimples that showed unintentionally, his pretty white teeth, the tattoos on his arm that peeked from under his shirt, his eyes that pierced through her soul and his height wasn't making it any easier.
"Yea, it was just a little something. Thank you for coming." Zylin smiled.
"Like I told Jayda, free food and free liquor can't pass on that." Heaven chuckled, not even hungry anymore.
Zylin looked around and noticed that Jayda was nowhere in sight. He chuckled and ran his hand through his waves. "Mind if I sit?" He asked.

"Hell nawl you cheating." Zylin yelled loosing his third game of UNO against Heaven. Both of them vouched that they were the best so everyone sat around while they played.
"Don't hate the player, hate the game." Heaven chuckled, sipping on the amsterdam in her red cup. She was only on her second cup, and after that she figured she'd stop since she still had to drive.
"You can't double the draw two's." Zylin shook his head. Everyone else disagreed. They all believed that when a person put down a draw two card, the opponent was able to double it.
"Zy you lost, just accept it." Cadence shrugged. You could say that Zylin was a sore loser.
"I bet don't nobody wanna play—No!" Everyone yelled. He was gonna try to regain his victory, but they all knew he'd most likely cheat or lose.
Heaven smiled and put the cards back in the middle. It was getting late and she had an early shift at the hospital. As much as she wanted to stay, she knew she would regret the consequences the next morning.
"It was nice meeting all of you. I have work in the morning." She waved, standing up with her purse in hand. Jayda was asleep upstairs in the airbnb being that she was so drunk.
"Nice meeting you too." Everyone replied.
"It's dark, let me walk you out." Zylin offered. Heaven nodded her head while some of the family smirked. They knew Zylin liked her.
When they walked through the house, you could see most of the older people cleaning up or laying the kids down on pallets. It was their usual, their children would get drunk and then leave the kids with their grandparents. The grandparents didn't mind though.
"Ma, I'm about to go. I'll see you Sunday." Heaven said walking up to Mrs. Charlotte putting all of the food in either to go plates or throwing it away.
"You better. Here I made you some plates take them."
"Ma I don't think I'll eat all of this." Heaven chuckled at how packed the plates looked. Mrs. Charlotte always made sure everyone left full.
"Take the damn food Heaven."
Heaven took the plates knowing that wasn't a fight she wouls win. She hugged her one good time and then her and Zylin walked out of the front.
"Did you enjoy yourself?" He asked. The whole time he caught himself staring at her. He couldn't help himself. The way she carried herself, the way her golden melanin skin shined, the way her mocha eyes were open but slightly squinted, everything about her had him feeling like it was to good to be true.
"I did. It's always good vibes when I'm with Jayda." Heaven nodded.
The walk back to her car wasn't as long because there was conversation. "Thank you for walking me to my car. People are so crazy these days." Heaven thanked, fishing for her keys.
"No problem." Zylin replied, rubbing his hand in his waves for the 100th time. Heaven had him so nervous, that he was getting frustrated with himself. No girl has ever had him so nervous.
"So when I'm gone see you again?" He asked, getting straight to the point.
"Well I'm a busy person. I think I can fit you in somewhere." Heaven chuckled, leaning on her car looking straight into Zylin's eyes. She knew that she made him nervous and she loved it.
Zylin licked his lips and smiled."So uh can I get you number?" He asked.
Heaven never gave anyone her number especially men. She was surprising herself tonight. Usually she rejected men or simply ignored them, but she had given Zylin her attention every since they met.
They exchanged numbers and they even gave each other a genuine hug. Zylin nor Heaven wanted to pull away. Heaven's vanilla scent had him melting on the inside, while his cologne had Heaven in a trance.
Finally pulling away Heaven decided that she should get in her car before she did something. "Goodnight Zylin." She chuckled, starting her car.
"Goodnight Heaven." He smiled like a kid in a candy store. Heaven rolled her windows up so that he wouldn't see how happy she was. Speeding out of the parking lot, both of them were already ready to see each other again.
