"I'm not going Jaelen" Ximora said as he got dressed.
"That's my mama bruh"
She scrunched up her face "I know that and you right she is your mama.. which is why I have yet to lay my hands on her"
"Mora..."
"Jae..." she mocked.
"Just an hour, if you feel uncomfortable we could leave" he promised.
"I'm already feeling uncomfortable" she told him.
He blew out a breath and sat on his bed.
"You heard what I said. I want y'all both in my life, and I don't want y'all at odds" he said.
She shook her head "We wouldn't be 'at odds' if she didn't constantly come at me and KJ the wrong way Jaelen. Don't piss me off"
"I'm not trying to, I just don't want y'all to be tense like this."
"She created the tension"
"She trying to fix it tho, and correct herself"
Ximora shrugged "Jaelen I am not going.."
"And I also won't keep arguing about this with you" she concluded.
He scoffed and walked out the room, shortly after she heard the front door slam shut.
______________
"Mhm.. I made curry shrimp, I was craving curry but I ain want chicken today" Ximora said as she talked to Jade on FaceTime.
"Where my brother at?"
"Ummm he left a while ago," she told her.
Jade nodded and rest the phone down to get something. Just as she did, Jaelen came through the door.
"Hey, I made food. It's curry shrimp and rice" Ximora told him.
He ignored her and continued walking to his room.
"Oop" Jade sounded "What's wrong wit him?"
Ximora rolled her eyes "He's mad because I didn't meet wit y'all mom earlier"
"But like I told him, I'm just not comfortable" she told her.

Jade nodded "You know I try to stay out you all stuff, but you right."
They talked some more about it, until they started talking about hair.
"HOLD UPPPPP. Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute YEAHHHAAA"
"Girl what is that?" Ximora laughed.
"Your niece and your sister, they driving me crazy wit these tiktoks bruh" Jade said, rolling her eyes.
Ximora smiled as Jade flipped the camera to show the two.
Her smile fell as Jaelen came back out the room, and slid his shoes on.
"Where you going?" She asked.
"Out"
"Jaelen, where the fuck you going?" She repeated.
"Somewhere you not" he let out a dry chuckle before he reached for his car keys.
Before he could get them, she had thrown a remote at his head, hitting him in his jaw.
"Fuck" he mumbled rubbing the spot.
"What wrong witchu? On my granny I-"
"Don't put nothing on my grandma" Jade interjected.
He glanced at the phone as walked up towards Ximora.
"Hang up" he said.
"No, I'm good" she replied.
Jaelen snatched the phone and hung it up.
"Fuck you throwing shit for?" He asked mugging her.
"Cause you hear me talking to you and-" she started with a mug on her own face.
"I responded right?"
She scrunched up her face "Don't do that. You responded but you gave me them petty ass responses"
"Ion gotta tell you shit you not my gi- maneeee" he cut himself off as he realized what he was saying.
Ximora nodded and got off the couch "Bet. You have a serious psychological problem."
He watched her go into his room, and quickly followed behind her.
"What you doing?" He asked as she put her shoes on then put things her purse.

"Leaving"
"Ximora sit yo ass down, I ain mean that I'm just not used to having a girl"
She shook her head "I don't even care about that. This all so stupid, I'm over all this"
"What's all this?" He asked.
"You, your crazy ass mama, our relationship. I'm over it and I am done Jaelen" she said as she pushed past him.
He stood there dumbfounded, then rushed after her.
Just as she got the door open, he slammed it closed behind her.
"You not going nowhere" he mumbled.
She rolled her eyes "Jaelen move, I refuse to let some one on the outside ruin anything for me. I'm done"
"Who on the outside?" He asked.
"Your mother, this not the first time you blew up on me about her" she said trying to pry his hand off the door, but he was stronger.
He sighed "I know, I'm sorry. But we not leaving each other like last time."
"I'm sorry, talk to me" he said.
She rolled her eyes as he sat her on the couch.
"Jaelen I don't know how you don't see it.." she said.
He scrunched up his face in confusion "See what baby?"
"Your mom, it's like she think you her man or sum. It's one thing to be a protective and loving mom, but she's not that. She's over protective and very much of an obsessive mother. Jaelen, I can't deal with that" she told him.
He thought about everything, then nodded.
"Ight I see what you mean.. I'm sorry-"
"Jaelen stop allat apologizing, if you want me to stay or whatever you need to sort this out. I'm not saying choose either one of us because that's still your mom, but I am saying you need to talk to her" Ximora said standing up.
"Until then I'm not comfortable with having a sit down, you gotta lay all the cards out to her"
"Wait you leaving?"
She nodded "Yes, I need some space and I have to go get KJ. I'll be back"

46 Year Old Syndrome
The daily Litrpg journal of a fairly average 46 year old man in a world where hundreds of thousands of people suddenly have a super power.Follow him as he learns skills, runs away a lot, suffers crippling headaches, avoids reading his titles, and tries to avoid breaking his body that didn't get enough calcium and vegetables.[Disclaimer 1: Despite the following, I will fix any typos pointed out. This is a writing exercise so chapters are mostly first drafts, otherwise I'd end up rewriting each chapter for a month or more with no real changes. My goals are a steady output by not using perfectionism as a procrastination method. I've already got laziness and additions to reading/games, I don't need a 3rd reason to procrastinate.][Disclaimer 2: The main character is a more normalized version of me, with 170% less laziness installed, and a few buffs like greater courage. Other things like having a job are partially similar. No other characters are based on real people because most people I know are either too normal to be useful or too fucked in the head to be believable.]
8 141The Mortal Acts
The Mortal Acts is an epic progression fantasy with a lower focus on training aspects and a great focus on discovering new ways of using powers intelligently. I've always been drawn to stories where characters use their powers creatively to overcome opponents and obstacles, and I think all the possibilities can provide a great playground for twists and turns. It's inspired by a variety of media, including Will Wight's Cradle, Hunter x Hunter, and Bioshock, so if you like the creative power use elements from those, come check it out. This is my first serial, and please feel free to leave comments and feedback. For backstory, behind-the-scenes, and other fun stuff, come chat on my discord! Become a patron to read up to 20 chapters ahead here! Blurb: Riven Morell cuts short his regular life at school and home when his mother falls terminally ill. Desperate to find a cure, he travels to Severance Frontier, a desolate land haunted by hordes of ghosts, witches, and demons collectively called the Deathless. But a miraculous cure doesn’t magically fall into his hands. Things are worse in Severance Frontier than Riven had assumed. Ghosts are banding together into armies, demons are kidnapping anyone who strays out of settlements, and witches are enslaving everyone left and right. Riven, of course, gets embroiled in the mess. Missions to curb the Deathless activity are one thing, but when it starts to look like this is just the beginning of a war that extends beyond the mortal realm, Riven has a hard time focusing on why he came to Severance Frontier in the first place. His mother is inching towards death with every passing day, but if he doesn’t face down the Deathless, what little civilization the Frontier holds will be overrun and destroyed. Thankfully, it looked like the Deathless might just hold the secret of the elusive cure.
