"Jaelen can you get KJ from school today? I have an appointment so I can't" Ximora said as she put lotion on her arms.
"Everything straight?" He asked as he came out the bathroom and put on some sweats
"Yea, I just have to go for a check up" she lied.
"Oh okay. But yea I can get her, you still gon be able to do lunch wimme?" He asked.
"Mhmm" she sounded sliding her computer and iPad into her Telfar bag.
Before she could walk out, Jaelen pulled her back to him and kissed her.
"Have a good day" she smiled, pulling him into another kiss.
"I love you girl" he smiled wrapping his arm around her waist and holding onto her.
"I love you too" she said walking out.
_______________
Ximora breezed through her three classes of the day, then left to meet back up with Jaelen.
Once they finished lunch, she headed to Jade's house.
"What time is the appointment?" She asked Jade.
"Umm they said four-thirty" Jade said handing her the bag.
Ximora peeked inside and shook her head.
"I don't want to think about it now, let's cook something so I can get my mind off of it"
Jade laughed "What you want to cook girl?"
"Ummm I can do some stuffed chicken breast"
Jade nodded and helped her start pulling everything out.
"Y'all been using protection?" Jade asked.
"Girl we was supposed to take my mind off it" Ximora shook her head and laughed.
"..well have y'all?"
"Yes.. no.. sometimes" she laughed.
"We been real careless since she said it's very unlikely that I can get pregnant" Ximora explained.
"Well she never said it was impossible" Jade pointed out.
Ximora sighed "I know.. I really don't wanna be pregnant Jade I cannot handle that"

"What? But you really good with KJ and Maliyah" Jade said.
"It's not that, it's like what if I am pregnant. Then we lose it because she said if I do end up pregnant it's a high chance I won't carry full term"
"Again, she didn't say there's no chance. You gotta stop speaking negativity around yourself" Jade said.
Ximora wiped the tears that fell from her eyes.
"I just really wanted to have a regular life Jade. Like shit been happening to me since I was born, and I thought this was finally the time shit would stop" she said.
Jade hugged her "Things are always going to happen, because that's just life. It's sucks, but you gotta keep going mamas"
Jade talked to her some more, then they decided to just order food.
"What movie?" Jade asked as she went through Disney plus.
"Mmmm Princess and The Frog" Ximora replied.
Jade smiled "Good choice, cause we was gon watch that anyway"
_______________
"Alrighty hey Ximora, how are you doing? What brings you in today mama?" The doctor asked.
"I'm good but I've been feeling really sick lately.. I throw up all day then I can't eat anything because I don't have an appetite after I empty everything" Ximora told her.
The doctor smiled but quickly hid it as she checked her vitals.
"Okay well we're going to run a urine test to rule some things out, but I think I know what's going on" the doctor said.
Ximora nodded and stood up to go pee in the cup for the tests.
A few minutes later, the doctor came back with a results.
"So... you are not pregnant, I believe there's a few hormones that are imbalanced. I'm gonna prescribe you a medicine that will hopefully bring everything back and I'm gonna prescribe something for your nauseousness" she said.

Ximora nodded and took the prescription papers from the nurse.
"Thank you," Ximora smiled as she relaxed in relief.
"You are welcome, I also saw something on the test we ran. I believe that the initial results weren't completely accurate"
Jade scrunched up her face and finally spoke "What you mean?"
"Well the test I performed were when you had fresh scarring and you were still on medicine. I believe the trauma confused the physical testing and the medicine messed with your hormonal levels which confused the other test."
"So what are you saying?" Ximora questioned.
"I believe the diagnosis was inaccurate, the chances of you having kids are wayyy higher then we predicted"

"How you feeling?" Jade asked as she pulled into Ximora's parking garage.
"Do I have to tell him about the pregnancy scare?"
Jade groaned "Yes Mora, you do not want it to blow up in your face"
"Okayyy, I feel relieved that I'm not pregnant. But I'm also relieved about the misdiagnosis" Ximora told her.
They talked some more until Ximora went into the house.
"Mora we got pizza" KJ smiled as she came through the door.
"I see.. the sauce all over your clothes" she laughed.
Jaelen came out the kitchen "Wassup baby"
"Hey" she smiled.
"Come to the room wimme real quick" she said.
"Bae you can't wait til she sleep?" He asked as he followed her into her room.
She rolled her eyes "Nigga.. I just wanna talk to you about something"
"Oh, wassup" he chuckled, sitting on her bed.
"I went to the doctor for my 'check up', because I haven't been feeling good" she started.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Yea baby, but I thought I was pregnant" she told him.
He scrunched up his face "Like wit a baby?"
"Yes-"
"Why you ain tell me?"
"Jae.. lemme talk. I thought I was pregnant so I went to the doctor to confirm before I said anything. But she told us-"
"Who is us?" He asked.
"Jade, Jaelen you gotta stop cutting me off. She told me that I'm not pregnant, but she did tell me that I am able to have kids"
"Holon so you not pregnant?"
She nodded "I'm not"
"But you able to have kids?"
"I am"
"Damn" he blew out a breath.
"Yea.."
He looked up at her "You good?"
"Mhm, you know kids aren't really what I want right now. But I'm happy about what they told me"
"I'm happy too" he smiled. "But next time lemme known what's going on, like if you feeling sick I wanna know mama"
"Okayyyy"

My library, so humongous my good friends told me one after the other there is no book it doesn't contain helped little. There are crumbling tomes of ancient magic, vocabularies depicting the evolution of the magical language itself, grimoires and holy bibles of cults long past, rows and rows filled with scrolls bearing the efforts of my magical research, contracts, diaries, letters and more. But parenting? There was none. Yet a struggle nearly every member of the Races is not foreign to. I...must have lived under a rock. Across aeons no less. What a humbling revelation.

Apex Immortal: a LitRPG system rampage
"Across the multiverse where the contest for power is the only constant, only a handful have succeeded in reaching the ultimate heights of ascendency and gained the title Apex Immortal. Dominus is one of them, unsurpassed in overwhelming violence, feared across universes. Now, memories locked and stranded far away from everything he’d built, Dominus will face enemies that will challenge even his powers and discover that change is more difficult than destruction." I’ve been writing fiction on and off for the last decade and I’ve always wondered how a peak immortal (or an OP superhero) would single handedly conquer a world that mirrors our own in all of its complexity. As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.
