《My Vampire Ex》Mental

I took a deep breath. As much as I want to just kill the siren on the other side of this door I need to keep an open mind. He brought Jess back to me, that was something positive. Jess. God, I had missed her so much. It's hard not to overwhelm her. I just want to hold her for eternity in my arms. I wonder if she's lonely upstairs...no, I need to get this hashed out first.
I opened the door to reveal Zach and Brandon sitting at a wooden table. Brandon's head was down against it but Zachary noticed me instantly. He sped to my side as I closed the door. "How's she doing?"
"Well considering she just spent a month from hell and came back home only to be attacked and screamed at, not so good." I pushed past him and sat down next to Brandon.
He lifted his head up slowly and his eyes widened at the sight of me. "My apologies your majesty. I was just resting my head."
This guy was so polite. How could he be friends with someone who associate themselves with Jared. "Thank you but the King is my father. You can call me Finnigan."
His swollen lips curved up into a smile that fell when Zachary sat across from him.
"I know you're pissed off at me, but how is this going to work without Jessica's blood? He could tell us whatever he wanted and we wouldn't know the truth." Zachary was so impatient sometimes.
"Calm yourself. Miles is retrieving some from her as we speak. While we wait, I'd like to know more about our new friend's motives." I turned to Brandon. "You could have sold Jessica for a fortune to any world leaders but instead all you ask in return for the last Pureblood alive is entrance into this clan, why?" This ought to be an interesting story.
Brandon sighed. "When I became a hybrid, I vowed that I would make a change for the better. Sirens cause so much destruction and pain. I didn't want to be seen as a monster anymore. Within my first few weeks on shore I learned about your family and the good it has done for the creatures that walk on land among humans. You are a trailblazer just as your father is and I wanted to be apart of what you do." He paused and bit his lip. "When Jessica came along I saw the perfect opportunity to help a human and gain entrance into a better life, so I took it. I knew that your brother had wronged her. Derek used to tell stories about Tanner and Jared's abuse to human-kind. That's why I was so cautious about bringing her to you."

I nodded, "you didn't want her back in Jared's grasp."
Brandon frowned. "Yes, but I suppose I have failed. It is obvious that you know Jessica."
A knock sounded and Zach sped to open the door. "Jesus, you took this much from her in one sitting? I know she's inhuman but damn." Miles stood with three fresh bags of Jessica's blood cradled in his arms.
I rushed to the door. "I specifically told you one bag. How did this happen?" I swear, nothing is going right today.
Miles shook his balding head. "The girl insisted I take as much as possible, sire. I tried to reason with her but you told me to abide by her needs and wishes so I took what I could."
Zach took one of the bags and shrugged, "she probably realized how hangry you were and wanted to feed you too."
I growled at him. "I am not hangry. I'm angry because you're an idiot, there's a potentially guilty siren in my basement and a broken-down Pureblood in my bedroom and nothing is getting any better!"
Zachary took a step back. "Fuck, dude, sorry. I won't joke anymore." He ripped the bag with his teeth and began to drink it. The familiar smell traveled its way through my nose and I felt my whole body go primal. I had only been eating what was necessary lately. I got so used to having Jess to feed on that no other blood type tasted good anymore.
I eyed the other two bags. I didn't want to drink from her until I was sure she was okay with it again. I have no idea what she went though down there in Australia and I just want her to feel safe. Then again...this wasn't technically drinking from her. Fuck it. I've been through hell and I deserve this. I grabbed both bags. "Please go check on her often. I'll be up there as soon as we get through with this."
Miles nodded, "of course, sire."

I shut the door and sat back down. I held one bag between my teeth and set the other one next to Brandon. "Drink, you look like hell."
Brandon eyed me carefully. "Thank you so much," he said before ripping his open and beginning to drink it.
"I'm sorry, but what the fuck are you doing Finn? We have no idea what he's capable o—" Zach began to yell.
I simply held my hand out to him. "You, shut the fuck up. I don't want to hear a word until I finish this bag of blood."
"But—"
I glared at Zach and he rolled his eyes. I opened the bag of Jess's blood and tried to drink as slowly as I could. I closed my eyes and let the sensations wash over me. Her blood was so warm running down my throat. I will never get over the sweet taste that can only come from her.
When the bag ran out I tossed it to the ground and opened my eyes. My whole body felt like it had just been revived. I felt lighter, happier. Brandon had finished his as well and both him and Zach were stared at me. "What," I questioned.
"Am I allowed to talk now?" Zach huffed.
"If you must," I spat back.
"How long are you going to be pissed at me, mate? It was a lapse of judgement. We all have them Finn. You just gave a hybrid Pureblood to drink, lapse of judgement."
I stood up. "He's calmer than you are. Stop being a little bitch and give me back my best friend. I need you and so does Jess."
Zach took a deep breath. "I understand that. I said I was sorry that she got caught up in the middle of my rage, but you know what Sirens did to my family Finn. This thing," he pointed to Brandon, "is evil. Maybe not to Jess, maybe not to you but he's still evil. Don't expect me to give him any kind of sympathy." His nails dug into his tattooed arm, drawing blood.
Brandon tensed. I could tell he was uncomfortable talking about his race. I wonder what he's thinking. No. He's been kind to us. I shouldn't invade his privacy.
My mind suddenly skipped to Jess. What's she thinking about?
'I hate you. Get the fuck out of my head!'
What the fuck? My stomach flipped. Was she referring to me? No. That's impossible. There was no way she could know I hear her thoughts. That being said, who else would she be thinking that about? I stayed focused on her, I had to know who she was referring to.
'Not until you kill yourself. ' This time a male's voice broke through in her thoughts.
Just what the hell was happening in Jessica's mind?
"Finnigan." Zach shook my shoulder.
"Huh?" I asked in a daze.
"Can we start now? The faster you see my point the faster I can kill this bastard and you can get back to Jess." I glanced to Brandon. He was now laying on the floor out cold. Zach must have already knocked him out.
"Yeah. I'm ready."
