《My Vampire Ex》Confirmations

All eyes were on Christopher, which gave Finnigan the chance to escape. He shrugged Jared off of him and sped out the door along with Zachary.

Tanner gripped my forearm tight. "I've had it with people telling me what to do today. I'm going to drink from my servant, father." His words were laced with such vigor. I couldn't believe he just talked back to the King of Vampires.

Christopher was suddenly standing in front of me, but his eyes focused only on Tanner. "No, you will drink these blood bags Kara was nice enough to fetch and leave." He held out a handful of what looked like donated blood from hospitals. I wanted to see Tanner's facial expression but I didn't dare move. Tanner was clearly at his breaking point. I have never seen him so angry and reckless. Now I know to never let him go without feeding. I mean, that was obvious before but damn. This was bad.

Without another word, Tanner ripped the blood bags out of his father's hand and sped out of the room; Jared right on his heals.

Christopher closed the door. It was just him and I now. Boy did this feel familiar.

Wait a minute.

My heart dropped. Why would he want to speak with me alone unless it was to tell me that...I failed. Oh, God,, had I failed the family already? Was this it?

He grabbed my chin and lifted it up so our eyes met. "I'm sorry for my sons. They can be a bit rambunctious when they both like a toy. Let's take this off so you may speak." Chris reached behind me and pulled at the string. 'Toy'. Wow. That sure felt awful to be called. The gag fell to the floor with a thud.

"Thank you sir," I whispered. A cold chill ran through me. This was so familiar and I didn't like it. I reached down and grabbed the gag off the marble.

"Let's go sit." He swept me off my feet and sped to the couch, setting me down next to him.

Oh, great here it goes. I bet it'll be something like 'How would you prefer to die, Jessica?' or ' how would you like your body disposed of after I drain you for being the most disappointing human servant ever?'

"May I drink from your wrist?"

I blinked hard. Did he just ask to drink from me? So that's where Finn get his manners. Interesting. Where did Tanner's go off to?

"Of course, your majesty." I answered back.

Christopher took my wrist in his hand. "Don't worry, I'm not going to drink very much. I only want to confirm what Finnigan has told me about you. That's all."

He raised my wrist up to his fangs and bit down soft. I closed my eyes and prepared for the pain but it never came. Just as soon as he started, he retracted his teeth. "Thank you dear. Now let's see if your blood works. Luckily for me, you seem to have a broken nose. Let me take care of that for you."

Wait, what? I opened my eyes and prepared for him to grab it and snap it back into place, but he kept his hands at his side. Without either of us moving I felt my nose snap back into place. I wasn't prepared for the pain and I let out a scream. In instant regret, I covered my mouth. "I'm so sorry sir," I whispered behind my hand. How the hell had he done that?

Christopher was smiling from ear to ear. "Don't worry dear, I'm not angry. I know how painful broken bones are to humans. The important thing is you are alright and your blood works. You are going to make this family much more powerful than we already are."

The door burst open, "Dad don't kill her! It wasn't her fault, it was all mine." Tanner sprinted in and lept over the couch. Wow, that blood really calmed him down. And I thought I got hangry.

"Calm yourself, son. She's fine. I was fixing her broken nose, which was one of you idiot's doing, I assume."

"Oh thank god," Tanner breathed a sigh of relief. He reached for my hand but stopped when he saw my still bleeding wrist. "Wait a minute. Why did you drink from her, dad?"

Christopher wiped my blood off of his lips. "I needed to confirm she was a Pureblood like your brother said she was."

Tanner froze and dropped my hand back at my side. "You're a Pureblood? Wait, Finnigan drank from you?" The anger had returned in his voice. He grabbed my other wrist and examined it.

When he found nothing he grabbed me by my hair and yanked my head to the side. That revealed the bruised and bloody bite marks Finnigan had made earlier that day. I was in so much trouble, I could feel the punches now. "What the hell, Jessica?!" He yelled.

I flinched. My body retreated further into the couch. "Y-you told me to behave. He was my master for the week I-I thought...I'm sorry."

"Don't be mad at her. She did whatever I asked, exactly like she's supposed to." Finnigan's voice came out of nowhere. I glanced to the door and saw him leaning up against it. He was calmer now as well. I'm glad he felt better.

Tanner sped up to Finnignan, "I hope you enjoyed it because you're never going to see her again."

"Wanna bet, brother?" Finnigan smirked.

"Boys. I told you, you were not to bug us. Go in the study and wait for me to join you. If I get there and you two are still fighting I'm leaving ,with Jessica."

Christopher threatened. He treated them as if they were toddlers, not creatures over a century old.

"Yes father," the two mumbled.
