《My Vampire Ex》Human Again

I had just finished zipping Finnigan's suitcase when his bedroom door opened.
Ugh. Why couldn't I have a few moments to myself? So much had been thrown at me in the past hour. Not only am I not human, but my blood is addictive to vampires. Great fucking luck I had, huh? I turned to see Finnigan leaning up against the door frame, staring at me. "I-I'm sorry I took so long. I wanted to organize everything for you. It's all done now, sir."
"You didn't take long at all, I was only checking on you." He ran his fingers through his midnight hair. "I guess you should get back to Zach now."
Finnigan stepped out of the doorway and over to the bed. My stomach lurched. I didn't want to go back downstairs. We had been having such a good day before that asshole came in here and fucked everything up. I wanted to fix things. I wanted to talk to him. "But I want to sleep in here," I whispered.
Did I say that out loud?
He whirled around to face me. "What did you just say?"
I froze. The blood had worn off! "I said, I want to stay here, with you. If that's okay." That was not my most graceful plea, but I wasn't expecting my voice to work at all, so it was pretty alright.
Before I could react, Finn was in front of me and wrapped me in a hug. "Thank God, you're back to normal."
"I'm sorry I let that man drink from me. I didn't know what to do Finn. I thought I needed to behave, so I just let him." I wanted to say more, but he cut me off.
"Shhh, no. None of this was your fault. If you had fought he could have seriously hurt you. You did the right thing, hun. I'm not angry at all." He released me from his hug and looked deep into my eyes.

I had so many questions for him. Did he know what I was? He had to, he drank from me. Zach said I empower vampires. What did that mean? How did they know each other? So many things racked my brain that I was completely speechless.
Finnigan lifted me into his arms. "You look exhausted. Talk to me. What's wrong?"
I thought for a minute. How do I answer that? In just a few weeks I had: been bought by my ex, beaten by his best friend, threatened by his father, almost killed myself via cliff, ran away from my ex's brother, got beat by said brother, began to like his brother, nearly died by a stranger's hands, got turned into what I could only describe as a human zombie and finally, found out I was immortal. What part of that wasn't wrong?
"I'm fine." I lied. I figured that would be easier than explaining everything. Finnigan turned away from me. "You love lying to me for some reason, don't you? Does it feel good or something? I'm serious. I'd love to know why you do it constantly."
A chill ran up my spine and made me shiver. The tone of the room had shifted from sweet and welcoming to ice-cold and angry.
"I don't mean to." My voice had instinctively lowered to a whisper again. That wasn't fair. I wasn't lying about dumb things or even important information. Technically, I was doing my job, trying to make the vampire I was serving, happy.
"Of course you don't. Get some sleep. We have a long drive to Tanner's tomorrow." He walked toward the door.
No. He can't leave. I want to talk to him. I went the whole day forced to be silent. He can't take this away from me.

"Stop," the word came out before I could force it down.
Finn stopped mid-step. He didn't turn around, he balanced on one leg, silent. Fuck. How do I fix this? He knows I didn't really mean it as an order, right? He has to. I would never think of myself on the same level as a vampire. I wasn't an idiot.
"I mean, please don't leave. I won't lie anymore. You can punish me however you want for my outburst, but please let me talk to you. I can't explain why, I just need to talk to you."
He sped to be mere inches from my face. "Alright."
