《My Vampire Ex》Acoustic Music & Burritos

I woke up to the sound of soft acoustic music playing in the distance. My limbs stretched on the deep blue silk sheets. I was in Finnigan's bed. The events of last night came forward from the back of my groggy mind. I told Finnigan a lot. He took it rather well, better than I expected at least. When I told him, he was actually intent on understanding. He waited until I had calmed down to ask his questions. It was the nicest conversation I've had in years.

My eyes traveled up to his headboard. A set of chains hung around the top metal bar but Finn hadn't locked them around my wrists. I suppose he wasn't lying. He did trust me.

Where was Finn? This was his room, but he was nowhere to be found. Had I unintentionally kicked him out of his room? We had showered together, why would he not sleep next to me? I decided to hop out of bed and investigate. I cracked the door open and began to wander around the cabin until I reached the source of the music: the kitchen.

The sweet aroma of bacon hit my nostrils. Why was he cooking? He had his back turned to me, his focus on the stove as he mixed ingredients and wrapped them into tortillas. "Finn?" I stepped into his view, and he greeted me with a beaming smile.

"Hey there, sleepyhead. I hope you're hungry, I made a ton of food."

I stared at him, still half asleep. How did he have so much energy? Why was he so cheery? He sped to the other side of the kitchen and came back with a brown blended drink. "Do you drink coffee? Because you look like you could use a frappuccino. I just so happen to make the best, besides Starbucks of course." He handed me the tumbler and I still was at a loss for words. I sat down at the same spots we ate yesterday while he finished up cooking.

"May I ask you something?" I sipped on the drink and nearly moaned in delight. I hadn't had coffee in years, let alone something this good. The man was right, he makes a damn good frappuccino.

"Of course you can." He set down two plates full of breakfast burritos and hash browns and sat next to me. "Why are you so happy this morning? You know, considering what we talked about last night."

"Because I figured if I dwelt on it you would feel even worse. So I pushed it out of my head and wanted to focus on having a good day with you. That's important to me." His eyes sparkled bright green. He was so damn good to me. The mere thought of having to go back to the toxic place that housed Tanner and Jared made me sick to my stomach. I was starting to wish I could stay here with Finn forever. A girl can dream, can't she? "Hurry and eat. I have something to show you."

I raised my eyebrows at him, "you're going to teach me something? I thought I was doing okay?" "Mmm," his mouth was full of the burrito. "I said 'show' you something, not teach. Don't worry, I have a feeling you'll like it."
