《The Demon's Little Wolf》THE WAR [PART 2]

I closed my eyes as I focused all of my mind on my powers. I felt my powers grow inside me just like that one night. I clenched my fists as the familiar yet unfamiliar feeling took over my body. Once I felt like I had gotten all of powers left in me, I opened my eyes which were now glowing silver.
I smirked at the confused looking king before releasing all my powers, directing it on the sphere on the staff. "You foolish girl." He said and started laughing like a maniac as the staff absorbed my powers, making me weak each second.
I felt my body starting to give up. My legs felt weak and there was this constant ringing in my head. Everything passed by slowly as I watched the sphere absorb my powers. I felt a liquid coming from my nose and I identified it as blood. I threw my head back, not giving up as I felt the last once of strength starting to leave my body.
Just as I was about to give up, I saw a small crack in the sphere just like I had wanted to happen. I felt a sense of relief that it was working. I screamed like never before as the last of my magic went in the sphere and I felt the the floor, tired and worn out.
"You just lead yourself to your death."
"It does not look like it though." I laughed as I tried to catch my breath. I heard a few cracks followed by the shocked voice of Knox. "What is happening?"
"Aww, did you not watch movies? Well if you did not, let me explain." I coughed a bit and started getting on my feet. "Everything has its limit and once it passes it, it explodes. Just like the staff absorbed more magic that it is capable of."
"No. You are lying!"
"You wish."
The sphere kept cracking and a blinding light started to come out of the cracks until it finally shattered to pieced and all the powers that were inside it, got released, sending a a wave of magic all over the battle field. I felt my powers return back to me as a strong sense of powers rushed through my body, blowing my hair back in the process.
"Now that we are equal, let's really fight." I said before charging at him. I kicked him in the stomach and delivered a punch to his face as he stumbled back. "Lost your touch with age?" I mocked.
He growled as he attacked me again but I dodged his attacks. "Not so powerful without the staff I see." I grabbed his arms and snapped it, throwing him down on the floor. Blood was coming out of his mouth as the veins near his eyes turned black along with glowing eyes and extended fangs.
He got up like a flash and charged at me. I stumbled and fell backwards with him over me. I said a spell and he was sent flying off of me. Using my speed I went right to where he was. He couched out some blood. "Funny how you used to drink blood and now you are spitting it out. Isn't it?"

"You really think you can kill me?" He laughed "I am a leader not some basic vampire that you can kill like that with those petty spells or weak punches of yours."
"Ohh trust me I know." I said in the same tone as him. "But as everyone, you have your weakness."
"As if I will ever tell you about it."
"Why tell me when I already know it."
"What do you mean."
For a war I sure did hold plenty of conversations with them.
"The fallen stake. Does that ring a bell to you?" He looked at me with wide eyes. "Wait, I'll show it to you so that you can check it yourself."
I said a spell and the stake appeared in my hands. It floated over my palms and I twirled it around. "It's fake." He shouted at me.
"Well, why don't we test it. If you die then it is real and if you don't it's fake." I smile wickedly at him as I went near. By the way his eyes were filled with fear I knew that he did not doubt it that I was holding the real stake in my hands. He tried to get away but I crouched next to him. "Say hi to the devil from me." I stabbed him straight in the heart. I watched as his pale skin got even paler and the his veins turned black. "I told you it was a real one." I said as I got up. His lifeless eyes stared right back in mine.
'Vampire king is down.' I said in our mind link. I heard a few cheers before Diana's scared voice reached my ears from our private link
'Ana. Alex. He is not fine' She said in panicked voice
'Where are you?'
'I don't know somewhere on the field. Get here soon' I groaned as I shifted into my wolf
What do you think happened Crescent?
I don't know I feel a really weak bond between us. Lizzie where is he.
I opened the link between us and a sharp pain travelled through my body. 'Xander where are you? Are you fine?'
'Little wolf' He stopped his sentence
'Xander please talk. You are scaring me.'
I heard a loud sound that said that the war was over and the sound was from our side, meaning we won but still Alexander was not fine. I started getting restless and increased my pace.
We dashed past the grieving vampires and centaurs, searching for Alexander in this mess. My gaze fell on the a scared Diana on the ground with Alexander lying beside her. Tears were running down her cheeks. I felt my heart break into pieces as I ran in their direction.
The warriors that were standing around them, made may for me to pass. I stopped right next to Alexander and shifted back into my human form. I sat on my knees as I looked at his weak face. Someone wrapped a towel over me as I was naked but I did not care about that at that time.
I placed his head on my lap as I stroked his cheeks, tears running down my cheeks. "Xander please wake up." I said softly. "You promised me. You can't leave me. Please." I sobbed. His eyes opened weakly before fluttering close again. "No. No please stay with me. You are going to be fine"

"What happened to him?" I asked Diana who was opposite me.
"He was fighting your dad but he stabbed him with some sort of dagger that hurt him a lot. He would not be in this condition if he would have stopped and got treated but instead he kept fighting and that made his condition even worse."
"Where is Gabriel?" I nearly shouted as I pictured myself snapping his neck for what he did.
"Alex already killed him" I sighed "There has to be something we can do. Right?"
"I don't know. Get the witches or someone. Anyone. Just get someone that could help him. Please." I pleaded.
Soon leader Elena came along with the other leaders. "What happened?" She crouched beside Alexander and looked at his wound
"He has been stabbed with Raezon, a poison for demons." She said
"He is not any demon he is the king for god sake. He can't be affected this easily. There has to be something we can do."
"If we did it early, yes for now the poison has spread over his body."
"No! There has to be something. It can't end like this." I cried. I caressed his cheeks and said in a soft voice. "Fight it Xander. You promised me for god sake." My voice cracked. Everybody had already surrounded us by now as they watched me sob over my dying mate. "You said you did not like me crying but you are making me cry right now." I leaned down and pressed my forehead against his, my tears falling on his face. I saw the demons get on their knees and they bowed their head, forming a circle around us. He was still breathing slowly but his eyes were closed and his heart beat were nearly not here. I was also feeling our bond break, making Cresent howl in pain.
Out of nowhere, a strong wind came and a blinding light appeared right in front of me. Everybody got into their fighting stance as they looked at the individual. "She is of no harm. She is Amelia" I said as the familiar face came in view.
"What are you doing here? You said you could not help us with the war"
"Yes and I did not. You won the war by yourselves but I did not say that I could not help you."
"What do you mean? Can you heal him?" I looked at her expectantly.
"I can't but you can." She placed her hands on my shoulder
"What are you saying. I can't do that"
"I told you every black she wolf has a special power and yours is healing people. You can do it Analise. The moon goddess told me about you power and told me to tell because you would need to know"
"How? How do I do it?" I asked, wiping my tears with the back of my hands.
"Just place your hands on him and think of all the memories you have had with him until now. Focus on the good ones and your magic. Okay?"
I did as she said and closed my eyes, placing my hands on his chest before focusing on all the memories I had of him.
"I have no intention of letting you go any time soon."
"my little wolf."
'Be careful little wolf'
"I love you little wolf"
I felt a sense of energy pass through my body and I opened my eyes, I had tears in my eyes after remembering all these memories again and that it could probably be the last ones too. My eyes widened as I saw my hands glowing and the glow continued all over my body even to my hair. I focused my mind on Alexander and the power became stronger. The glow became stronger and I felt my hair flowing a bit.
I retreated my hands after a while. Everybody was waiting to see if it worked or not. I closed my eyes as I felt Cresent's howl increased. I heard numerous gasps and my eyes snapped opened only to be met with a familiar pair of blue eyes looking right in mine. I broke in tears as he smile weakly at me. "Oh my god." He got up from his lying position and rubbed his head.
"What happened?" He asked in a tired voice. Not answering his question, I crashed my lips against his not caring about the audience we had. I heard the people cheer as their leader was back alive in one piece. He kissed me back as he pulled me closer to him. I felt his arms go around my body and he secured the towel that was about to fall off from my shoulder. He pulled back and pulled me into him before whispering in my ears. "Nobody looks at what is mine."
I chuckled. "I am so glad to have you back Xander."
"Turn around now if you want your eyes right where they are." He said sternly at the people. I heard Diana scoff as they all turned around. I shook my head and said the spell to get my clothes back on me.
I pulled away from him. "It's over now. You can turn back" I said with a laugh.
"We won the war!" King Tarsal exclaimed as they all began cheering and laughing.
"Let's get back to the castle for some rest. The werewolf kingdom is nearer than any other kingdom and without the king now, I am the leader for the moment" Grandmother said. "I would be more than happy to have you all there to celebrate this victory."
I helped Alexander up and we followed the others. I entwined our fingers together. "You nearly broke your promise." I said in a soft voice, keeping my head down
"I am sorry Liz."
"Please don't ever do that to me. I felt like I was dying along with you. I will never be able to live without you and I hope you got that well in that mind of yours."
He chuckled and pulled closer to him by the waist. "I promise and this time I won't break it."
I leaned into him and finally felt at peace after so long

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y

Bleached Nightmare
500 years into the future, technological progress has stagnated. Wracked by a series of problems like climate change, lack of resources and the innate human lust for war, the geopolitical landscape of planet Earth is radically different, and quality of life is far from what it was in the past. While technical development and research into realistically feasible space travel has made leaps and bounds, this has come at the cost of a world that is reeling from centuries of technical stagnation in other aspects of life. The establishment of a mining colony on Mars has led to the discovery of a new, rare material called sarinium; though it is extremely tensile and durable, it has a very low melting point. The discovery of this metal leads to large mechanical infantry- dubbed 'Spirit Striders', they are six to ten meters tall and as famed for the pride they provide a nation as they are a lethally mobile heavy weapons platform. The story follows the character of Marilin, who must both figure the enigma that is her past, and what this means for her allegiances in the future. Despite her genetically physical frailty, she seeks to gain power through a vessel that will channel her wish to change the world- the Spirit Strider. --- I hope you all enjoy my work. This is a story that I began writing over four years ago in my beginning years of high school, and have cast aside unfinished in the past two years. Though it is not up to my current standards, I hope you all may find some enjoyment in it. Happy reading.
